Purchased so that I could use my Harmony 550 universal remote on my PS3, and it works awesome. Now I have 1 remote for everything.

I bought this to work with my Harmony Remote. It works great, except no PS button, so you can't turn the unit on with it. The build quality is good, the remote feels a little small but adequate, comfortable in your hand and easy to use.

If you just want an IR interface so you can use a universal remote, Game Stop has one that also comes with a charging station for your controllers for [...] bucks. I am happy with my Nyko but if you have a Harmony remote and some extra bucks the Harmony PS3 adapter looks like the way to go.

There isn't much to say on this. It is a remote and it acts as a remote just fine.
It feels a little cheap (and at this price, it is) but it's not like I hold this thing 24/7 or use it very often. It really only sees use for maybe 2 minutes while a movie is being prepared to watch.
Much better purchase than most other alternatives if you ask me, best bang for the buck.
I rated the game fun low because this isn't a game.

Awesome to be able to control your PS3 with a universal remote! Only wish it had the "PS" button so you could turn the system on and off. Other than that, it does what it's supposed to. Still only have 1 remote thanks to this!

Remote works just fine, but i dont use it. I only use the IR dongle so I can use my Logitech Harmony remote, dang sony with their bluetooth remotes.

The Remote itself has a very limited short range. The IR Dongle works just fine with my Harmony 880 (except that it used to skip too fast with the direction controls which there is some manual fine tuning you can do in the Harmony software to fix that.)

The problem I had with the Remote is that it would only work from about 6 feet away or closer which is pretty dumb considering it is a remote control.

I took off the battery cover, removed the batteries, and removed 2 small screws. Then on one side I pried open the case. The clips that hold this remote together are so flimsy that some of them will break. Once I had the remote apart I could see the IR-LED was bent way down. It looked like a really crappy solder job. I just bent the LED approximately straight and put the unit back together. The couple of broken clips didn't seem to matter and now the remote actually works fine. So I use this remote in the bedroom and the Harmony 880 in the living room and all is well.

Just beware, if your remote comes in with a really crappy range send it back and get a new one... or if you are outside of warranty anyway then open the thing yourself and bend the IR back into place. I still have to be careful about how I aim the remote, but at least I can do it from across the room now.
