"Great Solution!"

I bought Rock Band 2 when it first came out and within a month, they had to send me new drum pads because the red and yellow ones bubbled to the point where they didn't register the hits anymore. I got the new drum pads installed and about 6 months later, they started doing the same thing. Since I was out of warranty, I picked up these, hoping they would mask the bubbling. They have exceeded above and beyond my expectations! Not only have they stopped the bubbling, but you can't even tell the drum pads below them have bubbled. They've also been excellent in reducing the noise as the foam absorbs the shock. These silencers "elevate" the pad a bit so it reduces accidental hits on the plastic as well. Definitely worth the money!

Purchased these drum silencers back in 2008. They work as expected and were installed without any modifications. The sound of the drumming is reduced and they do not seem to have affected the game play (Wii). I recommend this product.
"Silence is relative"

These pads aren't magic. They won't silence your drum hits, and they won't give you the bounce of a real drum head. However, they're definitely an improvement over the stock drums, and their price is good.
I went ahead and popped off the drum heads and unscrewed the rims, and I'd recommend that for anyone else considering these. Other reviews can give you better instructions on that.

Yes it dose reduce the noise, it gives a good feeling when you hit the
drum, but sometimes it makes you skip a beat!
"Don't buy unless you hit them hard!!"

So I recieved the silencers yesterday and tried them out this morning. The silencers are kind of a hassle to put on and I actually during the proccess I found out that my yellow drum pad was broken. The pads DO reduce the sound A LOT. After I installed the silencers and re-glued the yellow pad I tested the silencers on the song "Maps" on RB 1. If you've played this song before you know it has a lot of drums. On this song I usually get 98-99 percent playing on medium and hard and I got 79 percent. I noticed during the song that the drums were not recognising a lot of my hits unless I hit pretty hard. This probably won't be a problem for all those hard core drummers who hit the pads hard. Now I had to buy new drums because the silencers will not come off without leaving behind a sticky mess and my yellow pad is busted. IF YOU'RE LIKE ME AND PLAY ON MEDIUM-HARD AND HIT AVERAGELY HARD DO NOT BUY THESE. If you play on Hard to Expert and wail on those drums then these are a good idea. Oh I almost forgot... the pads add a bit of bounciness to drum rolls but it doesn't matter since they don't even register!! Overall do not buy these.
