This adapter is a great piece of equipment. A previous one that I ordered had some issues (when the SELECT button was held, the guitar controller's green and orange buttons were changed to left and right, which canceled out the buttons, limiting my options for activating Star Power/Overdrive).
This one, however, has no issues. The only factor that could lessen the efficiency of this product is the type of PS2 guitar controller you choose to play with.
The issues mentioned about the green and orange buttons being canceled out have been fixed with the new generation of adapters. Due to that, you will need a regular controller to navigate the Playstation menu, but that is not a big deal at all.
So all-in-all, a great product. I recommend it if you prefer using a PS2 guitar controller rather than the many horrible ones they've manufactured for PS3. |

"Not close enough..." | 2009-04-04 |

As another poster has mentioned, a newer PS2 controller revision H does not appear to work at all. I found an older controller, and that worked, except that R2 didn't work for a driving game, so that is limiting. I also have a Logitech wireless controller, and that seemed to work perfectly! This was all with system version 2.60.
Note that I'm not using it for one of it's biggest features, using the PS2 guitar controllers.
I upgraded the PS3 system software to version 2.70, and now the TAC adapter locks up my PS3 when I plug it in, as a previous reviewer mentioned. (Also, as that previous poster mentioned, do not have this adapter plugged in while updating the system software!) So, it looks like it won't work at all, now. Until updating the system software, it looked like it was going to be good enough, as I'd just use it with the Logitech controller, but this seems like a real problem. |

| This converter worked fine until I've updated my system to 2.7. Now it's nothing more than paper weight. Good thing I didn't update my system while this thing was plugged in! I hear a lot of people bricked their PS3's and had to FORMAT all their saved games... |

| I've actually been using this with my ps2 fight stick so that I can play SF4 on my ps3. The input lag feels no different than when I'm just using a ps3 controller normally, which is great because I've tried another cheaper converter that had so much input lag, fighting games felt unplayable. This is definitely worth it if you like fighting games and have a good ps2 stick that you want to keep using. |

| The turntable part of the controller works perfectly. Unfortunately, the buttons on the beatmania controller will work erratically. Sometimes the buttons will function but most of the times they will suddenly cease to work. I'm not sure if it's just my adapter, but it erratically works. I do not recommend you to try this out. |

| I've been using this device for 8 months with no problems at all within RB, RB2, and the GH:Aerosmith demo. I've had no issues with using tilt to deploy starpower, and I much prefer the PS2 wireless guitars over the Fender provided with the RB games. Just a note to you TAC Adapter RB'ers who may have noticed some guitar sound distortion when starpower is active... sometimes RB thinks a Fender Strat effects switch has been activated. With the new update to RB and the native ability of RB2 to recognize GH controllers, just put the TAC Adapter in GH mode and the problem goes away because RB and RB2 don't look for an effects toggle signal from a GH guitar. |
