"Versatile Compact Stereo - Perfect for home or dorm" | 2009-08-27 |

Philips really hit the target this time! This small stereo unit delivers excellent sound quality and all the volume you need.
Where it really shines is in its versatility. The stereo can play AM/FM, CD, CD-R & RW, CD-MP3, as well as USB thumb drives and SD cards! (It won't read SD-HC cards, yet). It also will play BlueTooth streaming music files.
I set up my computer in the other room to stream iTunes via BlueTooth, and the Philips stereo plays the iTunes music stream in perfect stereo! Up to 30 feet away and through 2 walls!
It's a beautiful stereo, with a great display and quality design.
I'm thinking of buying another for the office! |

"No Bluetooth w/ original iPhone" | 2009-08-27 |

That's not Phillips' fault -- the original iPhone does not appear to support the stereo Bluetooth "profile" (called A2DP, for you techies) that is required to stream audio wirelessly to the BTM630. I hoped that the iPhone 3.0 software upgrade had fixed this, but apparently not. It works fine in the dock, but I was hoping for a wireless solution. Fortunately, I tried a friend's before buying!
Audio quality was quite good for it's size, although it has a pronounced boominess in the mid-bass when used in an enclosed spot like a bookshelf. Perhaps the EQ can compensate, but I didn't try it. On a tabletop it sounded much better. |

"Looks nice, but CD player doesn't work" | 2009-08-26 |

| I also bought this at[...] and it arrived yesterday. I bought it for the CD player and the duel voltage feature as we have 240V where I live. I was able to program the clock and radio. It works fine with my son's iPod. However it does not play any of my audio CDs. After CDs are inserted, the screen flashes 'Reading' for over a minute then it switches to 'No Disc'. I tried audio and R/RW CDs...nothing works. This is a huge disappointment. If anyone else had this problem and resolved it, please post a comment. |

"Very nice product but..." | 2009-08-26 |

| A nice all in one product. The output could do with a little more tweaking to enhance the treble. Also, the inability of the product to be powered from in built batteries makes the unit less portable. The remote control looks kind of cheap too! |

"It pays to search the web! CD player is now working" | 2009-08-26 |

| 27 Sept 09: Review update: 5 Stars: I bought this at Woot in August and was dismayed at first that the CD player didn't work. I bought it for the CD player and the duel voltage feature as we have 240V where we currently live. I was able to program the clock and radio. It works fine with my son's iPod. After searching the web and reading countless customer reviews, I found the solution and the CD player works fine. I forget which button needed to be pressed to turn off one feature. Once that was turned off, the CD player worked fine. The sound is awesome. I love this product and highly recommend. |

"Attractive Design, Decent Price, Good value." | 2009-07-12 |

This Beautifully made iPod speaker is one Great Buy. It features an iPod Dock, SD Input, Aux Input, iPod input, Bluetooth Input, and even allows you to use the integrated microphone for making and receiving calls. The Picture I admit is a little deceptive, because the front of the speaker looks like cloth, but none the less, it is still a beauty, just a little more suceptible to fingerprints.
Just watch out for the Bluetooth, because it can be a bit of a trick to set up with your iPod.
Overall, besides the little design flaw of how the clock will not appear while an ipod is docked, this speaker is well worth the price tag. |
