I love Harry Potter so I really do want to love this but this just wasn't up to par. It was extremely short and not enough girth. I think User "Geoff" pretty much said it the best.

I love and adore all Harry Potter books. But this one is just not upto the mark.
"Tales to Forget"

Here we have a book of fairy tales that exist for the witches and wizards of the Harry Potter Series.
For the most part, the stories were not very memorable, and the notes written at the end of some of them, supposedly Dumbledore's thoughts about the tales, were too dry. I am glad that all the proceeds go to charity. I guess you can't expect much for a book the author didn't think would be published, or did she?
"When you want an alternative to the Muggles' Brothers Grimm!"
What a delightful book! J. K. Rowling edits some of the papers of Professor Dumbledore following his terrible passing, and presents us with The Tales Of Beedle The Bard, five tales told to legions of young wizards and witches, along with Dumbledore's notes about the origin and history of each one.
Well, if you believe this sort of thing!
I have been "contaminated" with seven years of Harry Potter's adventures. I wonder about the perceptions of those Muggles (non-magical folk) who have not been exposed to Potter's adventures. Will they still appreciate and enjoy these older tales?
I'm going to guess that imaginative youth will find this volume of interest, and desire more! If there was only... more!
As many have mentioned, the proceeds from this book go to support the aims of the Children's High Level Group charity. The objectives of this charity are "...to ensure that UN minimum standards for the care of children are implemented across the world and to enable children in care across the world to enjoy a safe and happy future."
And who can argue with that?!

This is a great addition to the Harry Potter stories and it adds understanding of the reason for the ring, rock and wand in the quest that Harry Potter is sent to complete to vanquish evil.
"The finishing touch to your collection"

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a wonderful addition to any Harry Potter fan's collection. It is a short book with a compilation of the wizarding world's "bednight stories" for children. With tales such as:
- The Wizard and the Hopping Pot
- The Fountain of Fair Fortune
- The Warlock's Hairy Heart
- Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump
- The Tale of the Three Brothers
I especially liked that we were able to read Dumbledore's insightful knowledge and thoughts on each story giving us another glimpse to the world of wizards and witches (which is always a treat for us muggles).
Out of the five stories my favorites were The Fountain of Fair Fortune, The Warlock's Hairy Heart and The Tale of Three Brothers.
