We bought this Hoover vacuum to clean a waiting area carpet in our barber shop. While it wasn't noticably visible that hair was in the carpet, I knew it was there. After the first cleaning with this new Hoover, the carpet looked almost new. Definitely a difference. The bagless and easy to remove canister was a welcome addition. With just the first cleaning the the powerful suction pulled so much dirt and hair out of the carpet, we had to dump it right away. Definitely a good buy.

I love my new vacuum! I received my new vacuum yesterday & used it immediately. Super easy to assemble, screwed the handle on & I was ready to clean. For a clean person that vacuums my house weekly if not more, I couldn't believe how much dirt (and dog hair) this vacuum sucked up. My carpet looks like new again! It is fluffy, clean and looks great rather than all matted down. I can't believe the difference this vacuum made. Very good deal (especially since now I don't feel like I need to buy new carpeting just yet!)!

After reading a lot of reviews, I chose this vacuum cleaner. I put it together in about 2 minutes, with a toddler trying to grab the tools the entire time. I used it on my low shag area rug, which had been vacuumed the previous day. OMG! This vacuum picked up so much dust and dog hair that it almost filled the cup! I thought I was playing with my children on a clean rug last night, but I was wrong. I can't wait to use this in other areas of the house. Great product. I can't give it five stars, because I have only used it once.

I hate cleaning and will make plenty of excuses to get out of doing it. I was trying to vacuum my home with a dirt devil vacuum that I bought for about 40$. I know, I know. What I was I? Crazy? When a big move came, I needed to get serious about my cleaning. I invested in this vacuum cleaner and I've learned (for the millionth time) that you need the right tools to do a job right. If I had known what I know now... This does it all. I couldn't believe the dirt, dust, and garbage that this vacuum got up in a few minutes. It was so easy to use, that I was inspired to do more than I had planned to do. It actually changed the shade of my carpet! I used to clean my shelves with a feather duster. No more. With the brush attachment, I did my shelves in a fifth of the time it would have taken by hand. Pet hair? This thing sucks it up without any problem. Emptying out the dirt canister took about two minutes. It also has a neat cranking mechanism to shake out the paper filter--and, boy, did the filter collect a lot of dirt! I am one happy customer. I will be dreading cleaning day a lot less now. I can't compare this to any other vacuum cleaner in its price range but if you are trying to clean with some cheap vacuum cleaner, do not hesitate to put out the money for this baby. It will lessen your work, dramatically improve the cleanliness of your home, and make your life easier.

Pros:
- good suction and cleaning power on carpet
- sense of satisfaction seeing the clean bagless chamber fill with dirt and debris

Cons:
- extremely heavy and awkward to maneuver
- very loud motor
- ridiculously short electrical cord
- bagless canister does not empty easily; have to pull out debris by hand - a messy task
- brush head does not stop spinning when attachment tools are in use - this will likely add wear and tear to the carpet

The initial suction and cleaning is good, but the build quality is only average. Having 2 more feet on the power cord would have been nice. Also, the canister that holds the debris is full of problems. The filter seems to do its job, but is very labor intensive. I literally have to wash the thing off after each use, and they're about $15 to replace, so I won't be doing that very often. After about the second time of use, the button that controls the bottom hatch that you're supposed to push to free the debris from the canister doesn't function as designed, and you're forced to pull open the top door and bang the canister out in the trash can, which is very messy (I have to take the thing outside or use the garage can or else it would be a huge mess). Also, after 6 months of this problem, the lever on the top of the canister just snapped, so now it's a huge pain to empty the debris. I've tried to do warranty service but this is starting off to be a problem. If only my Orek had better suction power. I have two regrets; first, I should have bought the vacuum at [...] so I would have an easy place to return it; second, I wish I would have bought the Hoover 5507-900 Elite or Eureka 4870MZ Boss.

We received the vacuum in good condition - opened it and was easy to set up. The first time we used it, it grabbed quite a bit more dirt than our old Hoover vac. The only thing I am not sure I like is the way the canister is cleaned out - on the old Hoover, the top opened to dump the dirt - on this vac, it is at the bottom. It just seems like the dirt could fall out at anytime while carrying the canister to the trash. Otherwise, this is as good if not better than the previous Hoover vac.
