| I was most interested in the Tivo Transfer function. I made one transfer and burn to Dvd and it crashed the second time I used it. Program would crash every time I tried to import a Tivo converson to burn to dvd. After several removals and reinstalls I stopped doing the update from 10.0.5 to 10.0.6 and it seems to work now. The text on the menu does not show up if I try to use 10.0.6. It appears that the update something to stay away from. Trying to get this program to work is a big time waster and encoding is very slow. A two hour program takes overnight to do. So if you want to save a program from Tivo it is much faster to save it to a dvd burner where the transfer rate is 1 to 1.Roxio Toast 10 Titanium for Mac |

I bought this on amazon a while ago, to burn my home videos and burn vhs tapes on dvds (separate software to import vhs). i have tried cd spin doctor and everything else on here and i say it all works fine. Sometimes it will hang up for a bit, but just wait 5 mins or so and then it clears up, depends on your memory and processor speed. I love this program, from being a lifelong windows user. I have found Mac programs to be so much easier!!! and they just work!.
Im glad i bought this!!!!
Thanks roxio!!! |

"A worthwhile upgrade and product..." | 2010-02-18 |

I had version 7 of Toast and hadn't been willing to spend the money for a newer version since 7 worked well and even worked with the newer Mac OS X versions that I have had. However, a large audio digitizing project hit my "to do" list and I realized that I wanted the latest and greatest version of not only Toast but also one of the other programs that is part of the Toast suite, CD Spin Doctor. When I received the software from Amazon.com and installed it I was pleasantly surprised by all of the new features as well as enhancements made since version 7. There are too many to mention here so I will just mention the highlights I discovered in the first few uses. The interface of CD Spin Doctor as well as its "cleaning" technology for old LPs and the ability to record streamed media from the internet.
The change to Toast itself was a bit of a culture shock but that was only the initial look. Once I had burned a few disks I was as comfortable with it as I was version 7.
As time goes by and I use version 10 more, I am sure I will find even more improvements that I didn't realize I was missing but now can't live without.
If you have waited to upgrade your old copy of Toast, now is a good time to upgrade to version 10, especially if you have a new Mac with Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6). |

"Can't backup commercial DVD nor Blu-Ray" | 2010-01-26 |

All Roxio product can't do the simple backup on DVD movie nor Blue-Ray. To be fair, Blue-Ray is a bit difficult to backup but Roxio caved to the pressure of Hollywood and decide not to allow any kind of DVD decryption. It advertised to do many things but when we don't have content we want to view on other devices, this software would be a piece of junk. Marketing should put a big bold face in product description saying that it can't backup nor decode commercial DVD. The way Roxio described the product is a bit misleading. I'm sure there will be many people bought this product to backup/transcode DVD and
found out that it does not work. |

"Surprised by the negative reviews" | 2010-01-25 |

| I have to wonder whether the bad reviews here are serious or plants by a competitor or a disgruntled employee, or a prank, or...? I absolutely love Toast 10 for its simplicity and elegance. I hate technology, especially tasks that to me are nerve wracking, like trying to grab and convert and edit videos from the Web. Toast 10 is incredibly intuitive and foolproof. I just made a series of DVDs for a project that called for lots of video and audio clips from an array of sources, and Toast made grabbing, organizing, editing and burning them to disk absurdly easy. I used the tutorial from their site and never had to look at a manual, something I'm never very happy doing. It was done in minutes. I can't praise this product highly enough and suggest that anyone turned off by the naysayers search around for reviews by actual experts, which is how I discovered Toast. I am not the only one who swears by it. |

"worst mac program used" | 2010-01-18 |

Bought this for TiVo fuctionality and could not be more disappointed. Simply doesn't work. NO Roxio support at all. If there was a lower rating I would use that. While I rarely have trouble with the Mac, read never in two years, this program will not work. Installed and set up properly, could see all the files on TiVo. Then went to launch later in the day and TiVo Tranfer won't even open, let alone see the menu list.
Thried to find work arounds or updates on Roxio's site, but the updates for toast 10 don't include TiVo transfer. Complete waste of money and time. |
