I bought mine within the last month. I think there must have been some slight product tweaks.
Mine came with a sticker on the lid. It was not difficult to remove, so they must have changed the glue being used. The sticker should not be there at all, but at least it came off in one piece. Work up a corner and slowly peel it back at a sharp angle. It worked for me anyway.
The grill gets hot enough to put grill marks on my food - apparently the 'lack of heat' issue isn't there. No, this unit will not sear steaks - that is a whole different grill temp requirement and would likely require a lot more juice than a standard 110 outlet can produce safely on a grill this large.
The grill plates and handles only go on properly one way. There is a moulded dot in the aluminum that should line up with a temperature sensor on the lid - you could probably force the top grill in upside down, but it would be unlikely to hold well. I think this may have something to do with the reports of top grills falling off. Mine have had no issues (yet) - but I noticed this alignment dot right away.
We have cooked meats (beef & pork), fish (talapia) and sandwiches and various stuffed tortillas on it - no issues.
Having two drip trays that can be slid around the grill to swap them out is a nice touch.
Two bits keep me from giving it five stars.
The power cord is a bit short - another foot would have been perfect.
The slider to adjust the heat feels REAL cheap - you can feel that it floats for about 1/3 of the distance before making the contacts actually move inside the lid. That said, it seems to do it's job. Generally we keep it turned up all the way. I'm keeping the original boxes around extra long in case this piece gives out in the next month or so.
On Amazon's sales of this item...
It shipped quickly and arrived in one piece - nicely done.
I'm not sure what pricing game is being played, but the three model's colors seem to get priced differently from day to day. My platinum one was $115 a month ago and is $144 now, but the black one is now cheaper - which is odd because it was the most expensive one a month ago.
I also ordered the heart shaped waffle pans for it - they are out of stock and will not ship for another few weeks. My kids are looking forward to those. These are not easy to find on the Amazon site - but they are there if you look hard enough. |

"Must have!" | 2009-09-23 |

| This is a must have in any kitchen and is the Cadillac of dual contact grills. I bought this immediately upon it's release because it was a name I could trust and I needed to upgrade my former GF. I rely heavily on the Quesadilla plates as a quick, go-to meal when I am pressed for time. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the plates can be somewhat unstable. If you check to make sure they are secure and give them a quick go over, you will be fine. |

"Not too hot" | 2009-09-06 |

| I was very excited to bring home this grill. As a design "idea" it's great for its size, tilt feature, and removable plates. If all you want to cook is meat and pastry/egg-like dishes it's not bad. Personally, I wanted this unit to cook foods like pot stickers (Chinese dumplings), but the deep dish simply doesn't get hot enough to either brown or heavily steam foods--and it takes forever to cook casserole dishes. I also have a really cheap panini press from Breadman and that thing reallys scorches! I swear I can cook almost anything on that grill simply because of how hot it gets (but it doesn't have that deep-dish thing going for it). If the 360 only got hot enough I would be in contact grill heaven!!! Given the cost plus the heat limitations I found this grill to be a major disappointment. |

| I have the original Foreman grill and used it a lot. My son bought me this one for Mother's Day and I love it. The removable plates are so nice - just make sure they are in securely. I have used the different plates and each one does a great job. I only wish they had the waffle plate with this one or that you could buy it as an addition. It is also nice that you can adjust the temperature. This is easy to use and a great addition to the kitchen. |
