    For the price, you can not beat this Mic Stand. I actually bought it for two reasons; #1, I play electric guitar and needed to upgrade a stand I got 7 years ago from my grandmother. The second reason is because I play guitar hero and like to sing and play at the same time.

    My old stand was plastic, hard to adjust, and just a piece of junk. This stand is metal, very easy to adjust, and just top-notch in every way. I have never owned a more expensive Mic Stand so I do not know what other qualities that one might look for. I just know that THIS stand is everything I could have asked for and for the price, it really looks and feels like a professional piece of machinery.

    AND THE PRICE?? This stand would is the equivalent of going to McDonalds and ordering a Big Mac, but instead, you're given a 12 oz. steak with a little A1 steak sauce on the side and a side of mashed potatoes.

    You really can't beat it. The only thing is- it does not come with a "MIC CLAMP" - something you need to attach your actual microphone to your stand. You'll need to buy one of those suckers before you can really use this. I did not buy that right away though and some of my girlfriend's hair ties did the trick without any issues. Being creative is sometimes more fun anyways. But maybe, if I was more creative, instead of using a Mic Stand in the first place, I could have strung my microphone from the light fixtures. I think that the company coming to visit likes the idea of having a mic stand much more.

    I'm using this for in house practice / jamming.. probably not a lot of playing out, so abuse will be minimal. It's very sturdy, good construction, and quite adjustable. We'll worth the price I paid.

    The mic stand works great and the head I got for it fit perfectly. Only issue is one of the bolts to tighten to make the "arm" stay is hard to turn, so if the mic stand is straight up and down, its can slide a bit.

    The weight is great and helps keep it balanced. Comes with a mic wire clip., wish it had two though.

    Nothing fancy about this, it's a cheap stand that performs its basic job well. However, my unit came from China with a "RoHS exempt" (reduction of hazardous substances) sticker on the box. Okay now, imagine the strong smell of toxic, possibly carcinogenic chemicals -- that's what the paint on this stand smells like. I've never fussed about volatile organic chemicals and such, but one whiff of this stand, and you'll want to keep it where you store your pesticides and weed killers. I use this mic stand regularly for field recording. I just don't keep it in the house.

    A comparable "Ultimate" brand stand that I own has no noteworthy odor.

    I bought this from Amazon and I thought that with 26$ I may got a crappy chinese made stand but... I was wrong.

    This is a chinese made but... it's very nice. Very stable and sturdy stand. Easy to setup. I use this stand to hold my heavy AKG perception 120 and SHRUE SM58. All work well. HIghly recommend for your budget, esp for the home studio.

    Good quality. Do not forget to order a mic clamp or holder though like I did. They use it at my house for the Wii so it is getting the same abuse as a touring band would give it and is holding up fine.
