This feeder lives up to the hype. It's great quality and has excellent instructions. The best part about it is that it really works. It's driving the squirrels crazy! Half of the fun is watching the squirrels try to find a way in. So far they've tried to fly from the tree branch to the feeder itself - whap! Down to the ground. Then there's the trying to hang onto the slippery green metal top - slide, slide, slide - plop! It makes us laugh. We love the squirrels actually and feed them elsewhere in our yard, but this bird feeder is just for the birds - except when it's a very slippery squirrel trapeze ;)

I'm just delighted that I can once again enjoy feeding the birds without attracting, and feeding, a multitude of squirrels. I previously had a large feeder, strung on a wire between two trees, that the squirrels loved to jump on. I was amazed at the distance they could travel, flying through the air to land on the tray where they could consume large quantities of birdseed til I finally caught on and took the thing down. No more. The pesky squirrels have shown no interest in this bird feeder, which I put up in the same location, and the birds are quite content. Problem solved!

This has been the best overall birdfeeder we've had at keeping pests off; we use it for sunflower seeds all year. We recently lost it, however, to a bear. He just emptied it the first time, but now has smashed the tube and broken the spring thingy. Remember to take it in at night if coons and bears are at all a threat in your area.

This feeder is very High Quality.
It is made of metal, except for the tube and perch ring. The hanger is made/bent out of a single piece of metal rod. This is important, as the squirrels chewed through the wire that suspended my last feeder.
The first day I hung this feeder, the squirrels tried & tried--without success--to get at the seed.
By the second day, they did not even bother, and I have not seen them since.
The Brome 1024 Squirrel Buster is not cheap. But it does prove the old adage of "you get what you pay for".
I only wish I had spent the $$ for this to begin with--overall, I would have spent less dollars, and saved myself a lot of grief!!!

My first serious bird feeder and it was an excellent choice. After putting the feeder in the yard I get swarms of birds. The squirrels pretty much leave it alone and eat what falls on the ground. The only problem I have now, is that the birds eat so much food, and I have to clean up a lot. Part of the job I guess.
Other than that, the birds love it and look forward to their daily feeding. It is well built and could not have made a better choice.
