I've been using 19 inch samsung (1400x900) for about three years that has horrendous scars all over the screen from the drop that I accidentally caused.

I've had enough frustration that I needed a new monitor ASAP.

I came across this HP 2009M 20-Inch HD LCD Monitor and decided to buy it after reading couple of reviews.

OMFG, what a difference! It's crystal clear with max resolution of 1600x900. It's a work of art! Beauty! Elegance!

I have HP desktop that never failed me and im looking forward long years with this monitor!

I've had the monitor for a week now it provides excellent colors. Just got a blu ray DVD player and wow blew me away. The one problem I've noticed with mine is when watching letterbox movies in full screen view (black bars on top and bottom) you can see a small amount of light bleeding through along the top where the top of the screen butts against the black border of the LCD which is a distraction for me and don't know if common with HP or LCD monitors in general. Otherwise the unit seems well built but the stand is very short so I have a phone book under it and the monitor came with the DVI cable which is nice. Customer support is off shore so hopefully HP will consider bringing these jobs home but othewise a very good purchase except for the problem noted above.

The only way you can get any measurement of 20-inches is diagonal. Otherwise it's pure marketing hype! You must view the screen directly or their is a lot
of glare. If I had not received a gift certificate and their was free shipping and no tax, this would have been in the box on its way back to Amazon.

First of all for anyone on a budget and out there looking for a monitor this is a must have item.
the sound quality from the speakers is not all that great but the resolution is great. very bright and displays color really nice.
the 20 inch model is more than enough and for the price a bargain.
great for college students or simply for an upgrade,
great monitor got it today hooked it up works great.

I had searched a lot of other same-sized monitors and this was the best in its class rating and price range. The auto set-up is great and my computer had no problem recognizing either Digital or Analog connections and the same with the monitor. Yes, it came with both connection cables! The speakers are typical of built-ins but, I don't really use them as I have a full surround system.

I do a lot of graphic design and, for the money, the color temperature of this monitor rivals some well-known others for my needs. I would highly recommend this HP product.

The Amazon price was equal to some sale prices which are just now coming out of the "office-type" stores but, I already have mine and it works great!
