With movie being a hit, this toy is going to be a very hot item in holiday season. Like other
review saids, this toy is awsome. It's very movie accurate in both robot and truck mode. But
because of that high quality, this toy may give some people nightmares of frustration. Yes I'm
talking about transforming this toy. I think there's two things needs to be corrected
and it's not on the toy.First, packaging saids ages5+. Second, the instructions that comes with
this is worthless. Now I have other transformers toys and it comes with similar instructions.
But with this toy, it's not enough! I mean, if your kids tries to transform this toy looking
at these instructions, their heads gonna explode!(parents too!) So I suggest parents to watch
youtube. There's video reviews posted by transformers fan. It shows you how to transform it.
And it's waaay better+fun than following these instructions paper! If you are planning to
purchase this toy, I suggest watch youtube video and study it first. I'm sure it will help
some parents out there.
And let's make this christmas safe from frustrations and disappointments! |

| Gosh optimus prime isn't what he used to be, since the movie has buffed him and made him such a big character the toy is none the less. I haven't had the chance to transform him into the truck since as soon as i got him and jetfire I combined them together since it looks so darn sick!...the combination of them two is just as hard as transforming them!...but once it is all done and standing up right it looks so cool!....the blades get in the way of the jetfire gun and you have to hide it back but other than that it is awesome....i may be a little old for toys but I still have my interest in them all...especially transformers!...i really don't think they intended these toys for kids because transforming them is hard even as an adult...and an average child would more likely break the toy before even getting a chance to use it. |

I was excited to give this to my son for his 5th birthday. He loves putting things together.
This is just way over the top. Even with the directions it's difficult for his dad (who is also good at putting things together).
Stick with the more juvenile Transformer toys. Pieces fall off, break, etc and it's only been two weeks. |

| I bought this toy for my six years old boy (Camilo) on September 24th and even after a week of usage, he would not believe such a great quality on details. This toys is completely similar to the Optimus Prime character form ROTF movie. Face, legs, hands, sword, chest, movie sounds, painted flames become a part of a masterpiece of modern technology art. However the "user guide" to transforms from robot to truck is a trully deception. It's design and quality product contrast with the complexity to trasform to truck and returning back. I needed more than hour to transform it to Truck by the first time and viceversa. Obviously it is NOT a toy for "Ages 5+" as printe on the box; although its superior quality (not even compared with chinese copies). You should NOT buy this toy if the final user is a "heavy-hands-boy" or you will not spend time enought to the first five transformations. In the other hand, it's product quality is a clear invitation complete the entire collection. You can bet, I will buy all toys as soon as I can. |

This leader class Optimus Prime is without a doubt one of the best Primes you will find on the market today. He has two fantastic modes and is so accurate to the CGI design it's kind of scary.
In vehicle mode you get the standard Peter built truck that the live action films have been using for Prime. It is a solid vehicle and although it has plastic tires instead of the rubber ones from the '07 version, he still makes a better truck. This has mostly to do with weapon storage. The first leader class Prime had his ion blaster or sword stowed on the back of the truck making it rather obvious that this truck is packing some firepower. However, the 2009 version keeps his flip-out swords stashed safely in his engine making sure that no one sees the "robot in disguise"!
Now for the transformation, I'm not going to lie, it is difficult. ATTENTION PARENTS: IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD ARE NOT EXPERIENCED TRANSFORMER COLLECTORS BE ADVISED THAT THIS TRANSFORMATION MAY BE MORE THAN YOU CAN HANDLE!!! KEEP THE INSTRUCTIONS HANDY AND WATCH SOME REVIEWS ON YOUTUBE FOR DETAILED TRANSFORMATION GUIDELINES!!!! Even though the transformation is hard you have to work through it and you will have a great transformer. Practice the transformation and get to know what this guy can handle to minimize risk of breakage.
After the transformation your hard work pays off big time in a spectacular robot mode. This robot is almost a PERFECT representation of the CGI autobot leader! You may find yourself wondering just how someone could fit this massive bot into that Peter built truck from before. He features some spectacular articulation, double energy swords and Peter Cullins voice telling every decepticon on the field just whom they are dealing with! |
