I love my Playstation 3. Sony did a wonderful job in creating this console.
Most of my friends bought Xbox 360 mostly because it was the cheaper of the two.
As time progressed their consoles got the infamous Red Ring of Death while my PS3 still runs.
Although it is the most expensive out of the consoles, it is well worth it. The PS3 is a media monster in your room. You could:
-Play video games,
-Play Blu-Rays,
-Stream music or videos from an external hard drive,
-Watch Netflix
-Browse the internet
-Browse the PS Network and buy vintage games such as Mortal Kombat.
-Play multiplayer online for free!
If you are not sure if you should get an Xbox or a PS3, do not hesitate to get the PS3. You will not be disappointed.
We used to have the PlayStation 2 which was also cool, but the newer features of PS3 can't be beat since my husband loves games and I love the blu-rays. Good for both of us!

This is truly a nex gen console, hardcore gamers oriented but so much more, internet conected, its a entertaiment system on its own and by a 1080p tv if you can as big as posible.
And also buy games with some research before.

BD Player, Cell Processor, user upgradable HD, loads of online content, and even more game titles. I got the 120GB version before the new fall 2010 packages were released, but swapped my 120 for a 500gb. Forget overheating scares and noise levels. Once your PS3 is in a clean cool environment it will work as it should.
The only warning i have about this product, is that it has now encouraged me to get rid of my 20" CRT tv (which i refuse to play the ps3 on) and go shopping for a 1080p HD Flat Panel tv :) Looks like my social life is gonna go downhill from here. PlayStation is where you want to be. You wont be disappointed. Get IT!

I got this for Christmas 2009 from my wife and I have to say I am totally in love with it. I hadn't been playing console games for quite some time although I had been an avid gamer in my youth. This console totally brought back the fun in gaming for me.
It's easy to set up, looks phenomenal on my HDTV using an HDMI cable, and best of all, free on-line gameplay! I love the fact that I can play this console with my friends living in Europe. The wifi is easy to configure and I haven't had any problems with it so far.
Playstation Online is a great feature, having a store on your console to download new games and demos, and even find classic PSOne games is just amazing to me.
All in all, this is the best console I have ever owned, and apart from the Xbox, I've owned them all.

The PS3 came really fast during the time where they extremely hard to find. We love the built in wireless, graphics, game play, netflix, etc.

I haven't actually used this thing to play games. I game on my XBox 360, but I own this thing purely for the Blu-Ray player which is absolutely amazing!
