This car seat is great for the kid who needs a bigger car seat, but as a parent you aren't quite comfortable putting him in a regular booster. It has side-impact protection which really isn't available in too many models and it seems to be very comfortable.
There is a learning curve for the child. It took my almost six-year-old a couple of weeks to get the hang of it, but he's got it now. He feels like such a big kid now that he isn't in a "carseat" but a booster that uses the regular seatbelt. He had a Sunshine 5-point harness booster (which also has side impact protection) but outgrew the weight specs to use it with the LATCH system. It wouldn't get a good fit with the seatbelts in our car (Honda Pilot) so I got the Britax for him and switched his youger sibling into the Sunshine with the LATCH. I'd prefer the older child in a 5-point harness, but you can't always get what you want. I do feel better knowing they both have side protection.
I'd definately reccomend this seat. My only hesitation is that I do feel like a child is safer in a 5-point harness if you can find one to fit your child. |

| our granddaughter really likes it. With the other britax car seat she could buckle her self up but with this one she cannot do it. i love the color & its easier to load in the car; but sometimes it can be a struggle buckling her up. i guess with a little bit of practice we all can learn. I received this order so fast and with no problems. love shopping at amazon. great job ....thank you |

"fits in a small back seat" | 2009-10-11 |

Love the Britax Parkway booster already in place for my oldest grandson, but tried to save money and bought an Evenflo from Walmart for his younger brother. It wouldn't fit in the small backseat of my older model BMW 3 series (the booster seat was too wide and the belt would not lay flat. It would have worked better in a van type seat).
So I bought another Britax, this time with the slide guard. I tried to research online for models that would fit small cars and found nothing that would lead me to a seat to fit that spec., so I hope that this review helps others who need boosters that fit small cars.
It was very easy to put together, and it comes out and stores in the trunk easily when needed.
My youngest grandson loves it! |

*Booster seats in General*
This is another one of those things that falls into the "they didn't have this when I was a kid" category, however that should not stop you from underestimating its necessity of efficacy. The problem is that normal seatbelts are designed for full sized adults. The shoulder belt which goes across the chest of an adult, goes across the neck of a child. The lap belt which goes across the hips of an adult, goes across the belly of a child, and can cause injuries to internal organs (liver, spleen, etc.) in a crash. The booster seat just gives a child a few extra inches of lift so that they're positioned properly and the seatbelt can do its job. The NHTSA recommends booster seats for children from ages 4-8, unless they're 4'9. It is also required by law in 38 states and DC. (With more probably coming). Although I'm getting different numbers from different places, most places I've seen claim that the use of a booster seat can reduce child injuries by 50%-70%. Certainly something that you'd want for your kids.

Britax has been making car seats for years, and they have a solid reputation for making the best and safest stuff in the biz.
*This booster seat*
Thankfully I haven't been in an accident with this eat (and hope I never am), so I can't review it from what is ironically the most important aspect, but I can tell you that it fits snugly and certainly seems to secure the occupant properly. The installation instructions are simple and clear. The only downside is that it is a little high, so in a mid sized sedan (2000 Toyota Corolla if you're curious), it does block a little bit of the view, but it's about the same amount as you would have with a tall passenger in the back seat. |

I am not a certified car seat installer. I just have 2 kids, one that is currently using a Turbo Booster and has had no complaints about it.
I have been coveting the Britax booster for a while now. So when I was able to test it, I am downright giddy. Thus far, we are very pleased. The seat is soft and much more padded than the Graco TurboBooster. I love the headrest that comes out further, as it gives my daughter a place to rest her head against when she wants to. I have had no problem feeding the seat belt through the guides, although will fully admit to not using that slide guard. Whoops.
The one drawback to this seat is the arm rests. They are just too low and way to small to be effective. In reality, if they are not there for safety reasons, there is no need to have them at all.
My daughter is more than happy with the new seat which we are keeping for the long haul. (She is 48 inches and 58lbs, for anyone who would like to know her size).

| I couldn't be happier with these new car seats purchased for our twin 5 1/2 year old boys. The kids appear very comfortable and can buckle themselves, including the Slide guard, without assistance. The headrests adjust easily without having to remove the seat from the car. Also they are lightweight and don't fall apart if you carry them from the top (unlike the Graco seats). Assembly took only a few minutes. I was reluctant to move away from our 5 point harness but felt better having the additional safety of the Slide Guard. I read a few reviews where people wrote the Slide Guard was irritating their kids legs. This has NOT been an issue for us. The only negative so far has been the cup holders. Only holder closest to the door will open since the inside holder hits the middle seating area in our Tahoe. This booster seat is well worth the extra cost. |
