I like when Amazon sells Apple products at a discount with Prime shipping. That's why I bought Snow Leopard from Amazon instead of the Apple.

Faster, smaller and more stable.
well worth the upgrade and at a low amazon price.
Install went much faster on the MacBook than on my Macbook pro.
I ended up reformatting MBP. something went wrong.
Have since upgraded hard drive and used an older leopard clone.
did upgrade again on 500gb 16mb hard drive.
this one went flawlessly. so it could have been a drive issue.
noticed small speed bump but have had way fewer crashes.
recommend, but backup your drive first. it pays off.

Easily upgraded three 10.5 systems. Have seen no issues with the OS. What a difference between this and frigin Windows. Right up there with Linux as far as stability, memory management, and simplicity.

Mac OS X has always been a fine operating system. Snow Leopard is great. As for Snow Leopard (10.6), It's just not enough of an improvement over 10.5 to justify upgrading.

However, Note: If you do intend to upgrade, be sure to check your software compatibility. I know realplayer doesn't work on SL yet, for instance. It also borked a lot of other software, MAMP being another.

If you're getting a new mac with snow leopard, you don't have to worry.

Hey guys,

I love Snow Leopard, and I love mac. 5-star for the actual program!

Why am I giving it 1-star?

The individual license CD has unlimited installs....
Don't waste your money on the family pack....

Apple kinda ripped us off by selling a "5-user" pack that is unlimited
as well as a single that is unlimited.

You should definitely still upgrade.. but save your money..

I am usually the first to rave about Apple and their products but with this operating system I would have to recommend you stay as far away from it as possible. It absolutely IS Apple's 'Windows Vista'. Riddled with incompatibilities, upon installation my Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, and numerous other applications starting giving me problems. Mostly crashing during saves... actually crashing all the time. Even some of the software that came bundled has problems (Mail, Safari, etc.) and also crash consistently. I am running a Mac Pro and previously had used Leopard with absolutely zero problems. I am currently writing this review from my wife's computer after I installed an update from Apple and upon restart, my entire computer will no boot past the splash screen. Upon contacting Apple and troubleshooting, I am told I will have to simply reinstall the entire operating system again. By far my most disappointing purchase from Apple and one I wish I had not made.
