"Same old Madden (depends on your view of last year)" | 2009-11-18 |

Madden has not really changed much from last year. If that is a good thing or bad, is up to you.
Gameplay- Graphics are slightly better than last year. The commentary is no longer horrible that is was last year. The rewind a play option is gone. The playbooks take a couple weeks to learn. 4.5/5.
Franchise- Can really zoom through a season fast if you want. Players demand more in salaries this year than they had in the past. Extra point adds minimal if nothing. Free agency selection is relatively thin. Trades are also tougher than in the past. Still very addicting. 5/5.
Overall 4.5/5 |

"What can you say...it's Madden" | 2009-11-17 |

| Just a solid football game. Tons of mini-games and alternate modes to keep you busy. If you haven't bought Madden in a while then this will definitely provide some fresh football action, but otherwise it's not that big of a leap from Madden 2008 or 2009. Honestly, how different can you make a football game, year to year? I hadn't bought a new Madden since 2005, so this game definitely felt "newer" to me than it might to others. But you can't go wrong in buying this game. It's great value in not only how robust the features are, but simply because if you're a football fan, the replayability of this game is endless. For those trying to decide which platform to buy the game on, I have all next gen consoles, but purchased the PS3 version of Madden because that's how I've always played my Madden - on a playstation. For me, the dualshock is the best controller ever made and playing Madden with that controller just feels more natural. A 360's controller is probably better suited for shooters, but I like the dualshock for nearly every other game genre. |

I am the first person to bash the Madden series every year because of dashed expectations. But this year, they really took a giant leap forward. This is the best Madden since the Super Nintendo days. What makes it a great installment are the much improved graphics, the increased AI, the improved running game, the more realistic pass defense, and the SLIDERS!!
Most of all the sliders. You can change any aspect of the game, on both sides of the ball. You can even change the speed of the game if you want to see each play develop more slowly, so play action passes actually have the potential to work for a change. My favorite slider is the "speed threshold". This widens the gap between slow lineman and quick running backs. No longer will Adrian Peterson be caught from behind by a defensive end. You can really see the ratings and differences in players shine through this year. If you have your third string QB in the game, he will struggle with accuracy. Good runners break tackles, and good linebackers make tackles. You will actually notice an improved awareness on star players.
Injuries are much improved as well this year. If your QB has a sore elbow, you make the decision to play him or not at his dimished ability. You have control over every single aspect of this game. If you don't like it out of the box, tweak it to perfection. EA finally gave the player full control to make the game the way THEY want it. I'm in my third season of franchise mode and I the only possible complaint I can offer is that in one game I had three kickoffs run back against me. But A) it never happened again and B) my special teams is horrible. It took awhile but they nailed it this season. |

"Warning: No way to save a game in progress!" | 2009-11-04 |

| We just got a new PS3 and this new Madden 10. The kids are very happy. The graphics are beautiful on the new XBR9 and the game play is realistic. However, I (Mom) am not happy because they want to leave the PS3 on all the time with the game on pause. But then no one else can use the PS3, not to mention the waste of energy. With as long as these games take to finish, it is absolutely unbelieveable to me that there is no option to save it and finish it later. A truly ridiculous ommission for a game played on a system with a 250 GB HD. I get that there is a whole lot more to this game, but from my limited perspective it has failed to provide a basic game need. |

"How can there be this many glitches?" | 2009-11-02 |

| Wow. Terrible. Beyond terrible. Is it possible to create a football game that doesnt have this many glitches? From the facts about the Bengals, Bears, Browns (supposed to be the Lions), to running right through a quarterback on All Madden difficulty (just cant seem to sack them sometimes), it truely seems as though plays and games are predetermined and there is nothing a gamer can do to change the outcome. I also like the commentary during the game, where it constantly messes up with "Matthew Stafford runs in the touchdown" on a pass or "pick 6" on a kick off return. Please send me my 60 bucks back EA Sports. |
