I can only echo what most other reviewers have stated about this terrific bike. Very stable, extremely quiet and an pleasure to use.
I've had this for a little over a month now and so far it has performed as expected. I bought this machine to help me get back into some semblance of shape after going through chemo. I guess most people lose all of their weight with treatment but I put on almost forty pounds of fat. Along with that, the steroids cause muscle loss which might explain why I've found the resistance level of this bike to be appropriate for me, while some reviewers report that it doesn't generate enough for them. In short, I'm finding this to be a perfect first step on my road to better health.
Everything arrived on time and as expected and I was able to build it in less than an hour by myself using the supplied tools and instructions. If you've ever put anything together from a big box, you won't have any trouble with this. Once built it's solid as a rock and doesn't make any kind of creaking or groaning noises while in use. I ride along side the bed while my wife watches TV in the evenings and it is dead silent.
Okay so why only four stars? First, the display really does need to be backlit. Most of the information presented while actually riding the bike such as pulse and distance is clear enough but some of the text you read while setting up for a session is illegible in anything but full on direct light. I know I'm in my forties and all but my vision is still pretty good. Secondly, the seat starts getting a bit uncomfortable for me after forty minutes or so. Some kind of gel seat might help here.
Those are some very minor shortcomings for something as sturdy as this which costs so little.
If you're a beginner looking to start getting into shape or someone like me who's looking to recover from a battle with your own body, this is a great machine to begin with.

Bike purchased about a month ago and am entirely satisfied with it. I was expecting to pay probably double what I did to get a "good" bike, but after reading all the reviews decided to try this one. Assembly is straight forward and took me about an hour. Bike is very portable with the front two built in wheels. Everything worked like a charm the first time I used it. It is VERY quiet, smooth and comfortable. My only complaint is the pedal straps...they are extremely difficult to snapped into place. I ended up using the bike without the straps and personally like it better that way anyway. I'm 5'9" and my wife is 5'3" and the seat adjusts perfectly for us both. I can't imagine anyone needing a more expensive bike for home use than this one. As usual, Amazon's shipping was great!

Bike arrived damaged- one of the pipes is dented so it cannot fit with another pipe. Amazon requires you to re-package the bike and send it back at your cost- ridiculous! Nautilus (which makes this bike) will not deal with the problem either, as it is still within the return or exchange period. We decided to try to bang the (****) out of the end of the pipe to see if we could piece it back together. We did get it together, and it worked for a couple weeks...but we shouldn't have to settle for a broken bike- we paid the same $ as those whose did not get damaged in shipping! Now it is making a squeaking noise beneath the seat. Seems to be an unrelated problem. I think I read others had this problem as well. ANNOYING! Will have to see what others have done to resolve. If I could do this all over again, I'd go to a store to buy... maybe not even this bike. Item big & heavy enough that it has a high probability of damage, and then it costs too much to ship back! Amazon and UPS can and should do better. And Nautilus should be able to send out a replacement part for that particular part OR package with more protection. And they need to fix the seat problem. It does have a faint stink after a good spin, that shouldn't happen either.

The exercise bike was very easy to put together and works great! Has good resistance and is extremely quiet. I can watch TV and not hear the bike! The seat is comfortable and the heart rate monitor seems to be quite accurate. I am very satisfied with this Schwinn recumbent bike.

Most of my thoughts on the bike have been covered by previous reviews. However, the most important aspects to me are as follows:
The bike packaging arrived in very good condition and it took me about 1 1/2 hours to fully assemble. Assemblage was easy and the tip to shave off the part for the pedal strap to fit was very helpful!
I have probably used the bike for about 10 hours total so far. I find it comfortable, but like others have said, the highest program settings are not going to provide sufficient resistance for someone who is in very good to excellent shape and is looking for a challenging workout. This is really the only negative that I have experienced with the bike and would otherwise defintely recommend it if you do not need a high maximum resistance level.

I purchased this a couple of weeks ago. GREAT assembly directions; took only one hour--and I'm serious...so if you're hesitating because of having to follow directions and assemble it, DON'T; it's easy. Bike works great--I haven't even read the operations manual yet. Quiet, too. Fast shipment from Amazon.com.
