This is an amazing MP3 player. Lightweight and feature-rich enough to do what you need. The buttons are easy to access and in the right places. It's easy to navigate by file name/tag, but what really shines is when you figure out how to use it's folders and organize files in your sequence of choice. You can even make a folder behave like a play list and update file names after the files are on the player.
It is the perfect size for working out (I also wear mine rock climbing and trail running and forget it's attached), but a slightly larger screen would be an appreciated improvement and still keep it lite and out of the way. It's powerful enough to play professional studio headphones very loud. The Micro SD slot permits this tiny beast to become a 24GB audio monster. Anybody that remembers how big early 5GB MP3 players were will appreciate the technological leap that is the Clip Plus 8 really is.
The Sansa Clip Plus is an amazing little device. It's tiny--not much bigger than a book of matches. But has a solid feel and plenty of storage, especially when taking advantage of the expansion card slot. It includes an FM radio tuner and comes with earbuds. The sound is fantastic.
I wanted something with plenty of space to, among other things, put binaural beat and meditation type recordings on it. Since MP3 compression gets rid of "unimportant" parts of the audio file, which might be quite important in this case, I opted to put a number of uncompressed WAV format files on the Sansa Clip, which worked out great. It's easy to drag and drop folders and files on the Sansa Clip Plus by attaching it to a USB port on the computer.
I was concerned that perhaps the display on a player this size would be difficult to read since fine print can sometimes be a problem for me. But it's easy to read and simple and intuitive to navigate.
All in all, I couldn't be more satisfied with this and would recommend it to anyone needing a no-frills player of this type.
"Overall Great because..."

Overall great because i was researching and shopping around at the time and found out theres even a message board/forum for this Sansa Clip Plus. this is great because i jumped for the 8gig and you still have a mem card slot for any other additional size. the guys on the forum for the clip plus were saying "c'mon Sansa, release a 32gb micro sd card for even more storage space." i opted for a 8gb micro sd card but destroyed it transfering it from the desktop adapter. (big hands on teeny tiny micro sd card.)i would recommend the jelly case sold on Amazon because when you put in the micro sd card it slightly sticks out but with the jelly case its even more secure.(cheap insurance.)
"Love the Clip plus!"

Bought this for my wife. She uses it for work and while exercising, and she loves it. She is usually pretty rough on electronics but so far the Clip seems very durable. Can't believe it holds so much music, especially if you use a microsd card. From what I can tell, any of the drawbacks of the first clip are addressed with this one.
We also use it with Rhapsody, and it works with Rhapsody channels. She loves that also; much more than the portable XM satellite radio she has. Overall, an awesome compact mp3 player, especially for the price.
"Great but not perfect (yet)"

I was extremely happy with my 2GB black Clip I had purchased over the summer. It was the perfect little mp3 player but I yearned for an mp3 player with a higher storage capacity onto which I could put the majority of my music library. Enter the Clip + 8GB and a 16GB microsdhc card. I considered the Sony S639 and the Cowon I audio 9, but those were just short on capacity and too high on price.
After one day of owning the Clip + here is how I would review it after having listened to the Clip for a few months.
Pros
-Much faster scrolling through songs. This is a relief for me because I am a serial song skipper and it takes me a while to sometimes find a song that fits my need for that moment.
-Sound quality may be better. It might just be me, but it sounds a little better. I am no music expert by any means though.
-Much better construction. The clip being fixed certainly helps it feel more solid, and I like the look a lot more, it is much sleeker.
-No light up D-pad and ring.
-Higher capacity (still waiting for my 16GB microsdhc card).
Cons
-The radio is way too loud at the minimum volume. This is almost a dealbreaker for me since I listen to the radio at night prior to sleeping.
-The Slotradio icon. I pressed it a few times and got sucked into a few second black hole as the player waited to get back to the menu.
-Bugs? Not sure about this since I may have put some non-music files on the player that were in my music folder, but the player gets stuck every so often, the screen goes black but the next song starts a few seconds later.
Things to Fix (suggestions)
-The minimum radio volume issue so it is on par with the minimum music volume.
-Removing the Slotradio icon.
-It would have been nice when pressing the center button while a song is playing to display the information for the song that is playing rather than the visualization screen or the "next song" information (available on doubleclick). It is far more useful for me to have the info for the current song than for the next song, especially since the album name is not displayed when a song is currently playing.
All in all a great player, but not yet a replacement for my original Clip at least for my purposes until some issues are resolved.

Works great and is fun to use. I put an 8GB sandisk micro chip in it so I now have a 16 GB player that only cost me a total of $80. Great for errands around town with the player clipped on my shirt.
