| Bought this soprano model for my daughter in Maui (even though it made in China) several years ago. We've all learned to play on it, and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone wanting to learn to play ukulele. It is especially good for musical kids to noodle around and experiment on. Both they and you will not feel like you are playing a toy. This little uke is a great value, and you'll take it everywhere. |

I am very pleased with this purchase. I was looking for a inexpensive Ukulele, but not a cheaply made toy. This model seems solidly constructed and sounds great. I use the Guitar Toolkit app for iPhone and it tunes it perfectly. I usually have to tune it before every time I play it, so if you don't already have a tuner, I'd suggest picking one up with the Ukulele.
I must admit though, I was really caught off guard when I found a "Made In China" sticker on the back. I thought Lanikai was based out of Hawaii, but I guess they outsource the production of their Ukulele's (or maybe just the lower end models) to China.
I'm a lefty, and had no problem flipping the strings. It didn't require filing down anything either. |

First off, I am so glad I bought a Ukulele, any ukulele. It is so addicting. I play it almost every night, at least an hour. The first night I sat up with it for 4 hours.
Now for the review. I don't think I could have bought a better Ukulele for the price. The price here on Amazon is about $20 cheaper than anywhere else on the net that I saw this particular model. The only issue I have is that I have trouble tuning it. Even though lots of people say their uku go out of tune a lot in the beginning, the problem isn't the Uku. The problem is that I have always had difficulty tuning any string instrument. I ordered a tuner. Hopefully that will help me. Once it's in tune I play it for hours. Then I put it back in the box and when it gets bounced around it goes out of tune. The next time I take it out of the box I tune it again and play again for hours. The Ukulele itself seems to be made well. I like how it sounds. The Action is good and it brings me hours of enjoyment so I recommend getting a Ukulele and if your price range is $50 - $80 then this one is a great buy. It's not a lot to invest to see if you will like the Ukulele. I'm sure after you get it home an play it that first night or 2, you will be hooked like me.

| I got this as a gift for my hubby. He likes it alot. He doesn't know how to play though. He just likes to mess around with it. I think he might been better off with a strumstick. |

| I had read reviews of many ukeleles and more than once read comments that the Lu-21 was a comparable instrument for a lot less money. So, I thought this was a good value for my first uke and took a chance. I am well pleased. The sustain is not great, but the action and frets are fine and it stays in tune. I'm having fun with it and the price was nice. |
