    The Nautilus features an extended five-point harness design that can accommodate children over the age of one, from 20 to 65 pounds in weight--a wider range than most other forward-facing car seats.     About Graco
    In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products, in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers.     I read and read and read reviews for this and after using it for a year we're VERY happy with it. I love everything about it from the color to the safety features. Our daughter got car sick in it, and vomitted all over it over the Summer, and my husband was able to strip it down to the plastic to clean it off, and we just threw it all in the wash. Great seat, we'll be getting a second when our infant daughter grows out of her Snugride. I highly recommend it!

    I purchased this car seat for my 13 month son. He had outgrown the rear facing infant seat, and I wanted a car seat to last him through childhood. This car seat converts to a booster with a back, as well as a backless booster, so I won't need to buy another. I looked at this car seat in stores and compared it to the others. This one was very sturdy without being overly huge/ bulky. I also liked the color combination and fabric. I purchased both this car seat as well as the same model in the tan color for both of our vehicles. I'm very happy with it, my only complaint is that the buckle at the crotch is a little difficult to release at times. I'm getting used to it though. My son seems to like it, and has fun putting his cup in the cup holder and taking it out again. He is very secure in it and seems comfortable. It was quite easy to install in my car which has the LATCH system as well as my husbads truck which doesn't. I recommend this seat highly for the price and value, as this is the last car seat your child will need!

    I bought two of these car seats, one for my 22-month old and one for my 3-year old. I love everything about this car seat except one thing: The girls' heads slump onto their chest when they sleep, which keeps waking them up. It seems other parents do not have this problem, so I am wondering if maybe it is the car. We're using them with a Volvo XC70, and we have reclined the car seats.

    Here is what I like:
    - Very sturdy and good quality
    - Memory foam makes the seat soft and comfortable
    - Price
    - Super-easy to assemble, install and move (it's not as heavy as some others)
    - It's convertible
    - The kids love the cup holder and "cubbies" in the arm rests

    Because we travel to grandma's house frequently, which is a 1-1/4 hour drive, it is frustrating that the girls can't sleep in it, which is why I gave it one point less in the rating. I've contacted Graco for advice and will update the post if they have a solution.

    This is our second Graco Nautilus car seat. We currently have 5 different convertible car seats from Recaro, Britax, Eddie Bauer, and these Graco. The Graco is the best bang for the buck and has some nice advantages. What we like the most is the easy belt movement. The belt sits on easy running rollers and when you pull it in and out it is very smooth and easy. All the other car seats aren't nearly as smooth and the belts often get stuck. Other than that it has unique storage pockets and an easily adjustable headrest. Overall nice quality heavy duty materials, but no premium materials - kind of like the Toyota of car seats. Our Britax and Recaro have nicer materials and colors.

    As far as the negatives I would say that you can't use it rear facing, but I don't care for that. You have to feed the belts in and out when adjusting the height. Our Britax has a handy wheel to do that, so that's much easier. I feel that other more premium car seats like Britax and Recaro might have better side impact head protection since they have bigger and tighter side wings. The latch connectors are simple hooks instead of sophisticated snap in connectors as in others.

    The positives outweigh the negatives because the Graco's advantages benefit you day to day (easy belt movement, storage), while its disadvantages only matter occasionally when adjusting the seat or installing it.

    The seat itself is nice enough, but the buckles are so annoying!!! I have been through quite a few car seats for my kids and this is the first one where I actually worry about being able to get my son out of his seat. Not many people commented on this, so maybe it is just my luck to get one where I have to struggle every time to open it. The straps get twisted very easily, and the buckles are very finicky about where and how they will open. You have to push on them in *exactly* the right spot and the right pressure. It can be extremely aggravating when you are in a rush and you can't get your kid out of the car.
