They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

|"Great for tall people"|

|I just got this exercise bike today, so I don't have much to say yet. However, I did want to say that the people who commented that this bike isn't good for tall people are missing something. My husband is 6'6 and I was worried that his bike wouldn't work for him.
But there are three ways to adjust the bike; the height of the seat, how far back the seat is, and how far forward the handle bars are. When you move the handle bars as far forward as you can and the seat as far back as you can, you have plenty of room. My hubby has more than enough room for his legs. You'd have to be over 7 feet to be too tall for this bike.
I'll continue to update later on as I try out the bike.

|This is the third exercise bike I have owned, and by far the best. I researched many options before settling on this one, including the lower priced Active 10, 120, and 130 (no longer available) models. I also went to stores to try them out. This is the most expensive of the models above, but seemed to have the best features in this price range. To put this review in perspective, I am a 37-year-old 5' 6", 130 pound female, and work out 4x/week on average for 30-40 minutes.
1. 16 resistance levels - makes a huge difference over bikes with 8 resistance levels. Switching between levels is very smooth. I owned one with 8 levels, and only used two of them. Everything else was too hard or too easy, and the jump between levels seemed too big. This feels more like something from the gym.
2. Really smooth and quiet - the quietest bike I have ever ridden.
3. Telemetry heart rate monitor - in addition to the contact hand grips (which I have never found very effective on any bike), this bike has built in telemetry, so if you own a Polar heart rate monitor, it will display your heart rate on screen.
4. Display readout - includes additional items, like RPM and Interval Time, which help you monitor how hard you're working out.
5. Heavy and solid - this could be a negative to some people, but the bike is a hefty 88 pounds, and feels very solid.
6. Very adjustable - In addition to the usual adjustment of seat height, there is a fore/aft seat adjustment, as well as adjustability of the handlebars.
1. Water bottle holder - this is pretty minor, but I have the hardest time getting a water bottle into the holder. It is just too close to the handlebars. Maybe a different bottle would work better, but I have to sort of bend my bottle to get it in there.
That's about it. So far, just a great bike! If you are looking for a comparison of features between Schwinn models, their website has a great side-by-side comparison.

|Fairly easy to assemble.. came in with no issues and within the time Amazon stated. I have put over 200 miles on the bike and ride it everyday without problems. I am 5'10 and the bike fits me well, I agree with others if you are taller you probabaly want to look for a bigger bike.
overall for cost and ease of use I would recommend.

|Bought this after doing a good bit of reading bike reviews on-line. Having used heavy duty type bikes in the gyms I was concerned about buying something, anything, under $500. But after finding a coupon for an additional $50 bucks off and Amazon's sale price with free shipping I thought it was worth the risk. Shipping was fast. The bike was delivered in good shape. It took about an hour to put it together with little trouble. The instructions aren't the best but you can figure them out. So far (about a month) I've been very pleased. I can tell its not the same as the gym bikes but for home use by one or two individuals it's not bad. My only complaint is the seat is extremely uncomfortable and I plan on going by a bike shop to get a replacement. All in all, for the money I'm happy.|

|Delivery was quick. Set up was easy, took less than an hour. Bike is well made and sturdy. I usually manually control the resistance so cannot comment on preprogrammed readout.
Bike functions well, easy to adjust.
For my body type, long torso, shorter legs, the biomechanics of this bike could be better.
With seat properly adjusted, still have some lean on the arms and i find with rides longer than 20 minutes that i get some numbness in the hands.
As for the seat, this is fine and is reasonably comfortable for shorter rides.
Since i usually do intervals on indoor exercise equipment for 20-30 minutes, the above limitations are easily dealt with.
Overall an affordable addition to the home gym.
