The program is really insane. Great for already fit people who want a challenge and a way to get to the next level of fitness. Program involves a lot of plyometric or jump training which may be harmful to people with arthritis or painful joints due to the impact of the exercise moves. Its been 4 weeks and its been very challenging thus far.
These workout videos were a good buy, wouldn't trust any other online source.
Here's a housing tip to take into consideration before purchasing the set -Have plenty of room to work out in your home, be prepared to sweat all over the floor, and (if you're staying in an apartment or town house) theres a lot of jumping so watch out for neighbors. To avoid any of these frustrations, I bought a big mat at WALMART. Totally worth it to not sweat on my carpet.
After doing P90X I decided to try this. Something about it is just hard for me to get into. It's nice that the workouts are shorter than P90X, but they are very repetative - IE, the same warmup for 10 minutes seems to be on every 40 minute DVD. It's easy to slack off in my opinion because you just don't jump as high or go as fast as he wants. It is a tough workout if you do it right, I just get bored to tears even thinking about it.
"My skinny jeans are loose and I'm only half way in!"
This is a great workout program! You have to push yourself, but the results are awesome. The workouts are as challenging as YOU make them, and as you get hooked you will continue to push yourself to the next level. I just finished the first month and am about to start recovery, and then on to month two! So far I've only lost a few pounds, but even my skinny jeans are loose now! I'm starting to see more definition in my abs than I've seen since I was a gymnast! I will admit I do have to modify some moves as I have injured knees, but I've been able to do the workout just fine. The hardest part for me is the diet. You eat well-balanced meals/snacks 5 times per day. It's easy for me to find things I like and stay full, but it's hard to turn down those fancy drinks at happy hour and delicious fried stuff when eating out. I remind myself that nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, and as someone who recently pulled once too-tight jeans off without unbuttoning or unzipping them...I can't tell you how true it is! Insanity has definitely been the change from my previous two-a-day workouts that made me lose the inches!
Watch the info-mertial on TV or go to the web site and watch the short ad. If you want to get in great shape and have no medical problems, then buy this. Lost 8lbs in 4 weeks. It feels like more but that's the inches. They suggest measuring but I didn't bother. It is as hard as they say. But I feel great.
I finished the first 4 weeks, and my fitness level really jumped, but i started feeling pain in both knees whenever i do the workout, then the pain continued to be with me in everything i do in my life....
I was really dissappointed because i started to feel the defference at the same time i decided to quit the insanity workout.
