The language/tone/ style of the book is really fun and esasy to get but it's not a comprehensive/ elaborate book..
Do not expect full information on everything but you can read for fun and a brief summary of the topics..

A lot of reviews touched on how the whole calling the baby 'the model' got old, and the book made the baby an object rather than a human being, etc. This is true, but the thing is that I think it was part of the goal of the book! I thought it was comical, cute, funny and entertaining! If you are looking for the definitive read on babies, this is probably not it. However, I will say that this is the ONLY book my husband read!! AND enjoed! It makes the topic entertaining, and visual! And while it may not be the definitive read on the topic, or the most thorough (maybe) after reading several baby books, I found that this one did manage to cover pretty much everything, just in a more entertaining memorable fashion. I would highly recommend it, ESPECIALLY to women who want their male partners to read SOMETHING! :) (The four stars is just because I would still say there are better books on the topic for the interested pregnant ladies out there!)

I originally bought this as a joke, but when our son was born we were surprised to find that not one question has come up that this book did not cover. I thumb through it regularly and always find some great new tip. We are buying more to give as gifts.

This is a fun book for the technical-type new parent. The diagrams and writing are succinct and fun to read, and the variety of information is great.

I bought this for my husband who is an automotive tech. He has his own business so schedules his own hours. He will be a stay at home daddy for our new baby, and I thought this book would read just like a car manual for him. He LOVED it and read half of it the first day we got it. It is so cute and well organized. It really is a baby book for dummies, for experts, or anyone! I love it!
"Not the only baby book to have, but a good addition"
Ok, 7 months in with our new baby and we still find this book amusing. My wife and I have an appreciation for the book's satirical descriptions of dealing with the child as 'a unit'. We regularly joke with each other about the book's references to dealing with your unit properly or else it will malfunction. Keep it clean or it'll malfunction, if food disagrees it may malfunction, etc. Our little boy had a couple of episodes of throwing up and it really helped to have a bit of humor to fall back on while helping him get better (and clean up the MESS!).
So if you're looking for a touchy-feely handholding guide, full of nurturing rhetoric, this is not the book for you. But if you can appreciate a bit of no-nonsense advice mixed with some humor then it's definitely a book to get (or give to friends, as we've done).
