I bought this with her popular book "You Can Heal Your Life." It gives more details on the problem/metaphysical solution, especially w/regards to the back and spinal column. If you work in the healing world, this is a must have book.

This is a wonderful little book and I will not add more to the many great reviews written here. I just want to warn people that the Kindle edition DOES NOT WORK WELL. This book is 90% a table with positive affirmations to overcome negative patterns of thinking that create diseases. But the format for the Kindle (at least on my Kindle 2) does not show the far right of the table, even if one chooses the smallest font. Hence the whole beauty and usefulness of the book is missed. Get the paperback copy instead. I am not sure if it displays properly in the Kindle DX because of the biggest screen factor. I wish Amazon could create a rating category where we can rate the FORMAT for Kindle books. That would be very useful.

This is an excellent book for anyone who is willing to think outside of the conventional methods of treating disease (dis-ease.) You must be open-minded and willing to think differently than you may have been taught.

I am one who has suffered from headaches in the past, for example, and the book describes the negative mental patterns for migraines and headaches to be "Invalidating the self. Self-criticism. Fear" and "Dislike of being driven." I am someone who always strived to "do everything right" and always pushed myself, sometimes to over my limit. Now, if I feel a headache coming on, I slow down and ask myself, "What's not right, here?" and I usually come to find that I have been needlessly pushing myself too hard. If I don't do ALL of the laundry today, what's the worst that could happen? If I write 8 pages of a report today and not 15, is the world going to stop turning? No. And thank goodness for that.

I'm not saying that it's bad to want to do well and achieve your dreams and goals, but there is a healthy way to go about it, as well as a way that is not so beneficial to you or your body in the long run.

It's just one example, but if you are willing, it is a great chance to look deeper within yourself and see what kind of negative thought patterns are keeping you from enjoying life to the fullest. We all deserve that.

And if you like this book, you DEFINITELY should read "You Can Heal Your Life." Both books have been fantastic and have given me a newfound outlook on life. Be willing to look deep within yourself. It is not always easy, but well worth the freedom to live life fully. Buy the book. You won't be disappointed.

I wish I could return them, but it's too late....they are brand new....

I absolutely love this book! Seeing the relationship between our thoughts and how they affect our body is simply amazing---and true. I have been doing a lot of energy & body work to heal myself from a 'terminal' disease--the doctors have been amazed that I am still walking around & active. I still have work to do, but honestly, without the help of Louise Hay's books & some others, I would not be alive today!

I find this book gives me deep insights into inner blockages manifesting as outer physical ailments. I find it accurately pinpoints life issues I need to look at and contemplate upon when they manifest in physical pain. Toothache? Usually I have decisions I need to make. Ankle hurts? What life situations am I afraid to step forward into. Once I address, affirm, and act on the issues my body is identifying for me, the pain usually goes away. The greatest gift is the knowing that WE have this power within us to create these changes and healings. I always keep several copies on hand to share with others as needed. Happily the books are so inexpensive this is easy to do.
