The book came in at a great time and was in the condition that was mentioned when I bought it.

This book has a lot of great information on how to follow his 12 week plan, including diets, and excersises. Personally, I would have rather just bought the Eating for Life Recipe Book that he has instead of purchasing both. The Receipe book is GREAT and has a million great receipes, as well as explaining his Heath Plan.
I do my own excersies, so I just felt this book wasn't worth purchasing for me personally. All in all though, it's a great read-and worth purchasing if you want the complete package.

i am a 5'10" female. i weighed 271 after i gave birth to my third child at the age of 25. i could tell i was gaining more weight because my pants were getting too tight. i just wouldn't weigh myself and accept the fact i was getting bigger. to make a long story short i went from 271 to 132. 70lbs. lost in the 12 week period. oh, the best part of this is i started in 2000 and now in 2009 i weigh between 132 to 135.
thank you Bill Phillips.

Bill Phillips solved my problem of finding the right balance between exercise, diet and life-style. I read this book casually in a Barnes & Noble stores, but found it had the answers for all my questions. After I read this book, I stopped looking for any more information about work-outs and diets. THIS IS IT!
I have been personally following the program for several months now. Have lost about 2 inches off my waist and a good amount of abdominal fat. Have gained good muscle mass in my upper and lower body and can say that I have more energy and enthusiasm for life now! Since I am facing some back and neck issues, I have to balance out Bill's program with some yogasanas.
FYI, I am a pure vegetarian and have to supplement the protein with whey protein shakes/powder most of the time. Had to make some changes in my carbs too in eliminating white rice totally and switching to brown rice and whole wheat tortillas. But I never feel any craving for my old south Indian vegetarian food...
The program has made me more efficient too.
Thank you Bill for this great work.

I bought this book less than four weeks ago, and already I have seen vast improvements. I've lost six pounds, can tell a huge difference in how my clothes fit, and I'm starting to see muscles popping out where previously there was only jiggle.
It has, however, been hard work. I have been sore in one muscle group or another since I've started the program. I've been to the gym six days per week. There have been no brownies in my life (except on the free day). I'm here to tell you that no matter how inspirational you find this book, if you aren't already inspired to work on yourself and your long-term health, there is nothing about this book that will automatically cause you to lose weight. You have to put in the effort, and it has been some effort.
The good news is that even within the first week, I noticed a marked increase in my energy level. Eating six small meals a day keeps blood sugar more steady, so there was no more 3:00 crash. I have chosen to use supplements (just because fixing six meals a day, no matter how small, can be tricky), but I am using an EAS 100% whey protein in milk (the vanilla is actually pretty tasty- I tried the Myoplex that was suggested in the book and decided I'd rather go hungry) and Powerbar Protein bars as my meal replacements. The Powerbars are pretty pricey, but they're slightly more portable than the whey, but the whey protein is cheap (if you look at the number of servings that you get) and can be found in my local grocery.
Working out was painful at first. I have done very little resistance training, and as a woman, I felt a little intimidated to go over and hang with the guys around the weights. However, everyone at the gym has been really supportive, and even after less than four weeks my husband has even noticed a difference. I could run on a treadmill or elliptical 8 hours a day and not get these kind of results. Plus, women should do weight training because it builds bone mass as well. The majority of the soreness went away after the first couple weeks, and now I can tell that I've worked out, but there's not really pain associated like in the beginning. Plus, with adding weight slowly and using the "muscle confusion" that is outlined in the book, this is a workout that you could pretty much never grow out of.
