"Lasts a lot longer than you think... and OEM ink is definitely the best"

I have owned 4 Canon inkjet printers, and have a lot of experience with the individual ink tank system Canon uses. I can say with confidence that the BCI-6 and BCI-3 series ink tanks can print quite a bit longer than the software tells you they can. Once all the ink in the reserve tank (not in the sponge) is used up a sensor sends an "Ink Low" message to the software, which then starts counting pages. Whether or not you actually use that color much for the next X number of pages you will still get an "Out of ink" error and a warning that you could damage your printer if you continue to print. Take the ink tank out and visually inspect it. In most cases you can just hit the "Continue" button (or its equivalent on your printer model) and print several more pages (depending on size and whether you're printing photos or on plain paper). Just be sure to visually inspect the tank every few pages because you don't want it to run completely dry, that could indeed damage your print head.
I have been using a Canon i9900 for over 2 years and printed hundreds of photos and 11x17 high-resolution pages, and have never had the print head clog using Canon ink. It's definitely worth it to buy your printer manufacturer's ink, whether you use a Canon, HP, Lexmark, Epson...

With gas prices these days, might as well buy them online. I ordered 3 of them with Amazon and got them within 2 days - pretty good. If you buy 3 or more, you get the free shipping which also saves money.
I currently have a Canon i960, but I've learned over the years never substitute generic inks no matter what the advertisement says. Only Canon inks give me the quality I want and don't ruin the printer. I do a lot of color prints to use as references in my art work, and contrary to what others may say, the inks last a long time and are well worth the expense for me.
This ink works great with Canon printer. Unfortunately this is the ONLY ink that works great with a canon printer. Any other ink I tried produce terrible result. So, basically if you own Canon printer you stuck with this ink, which can be a little less expensive. I gave 4 stars because the price is a bit high.

Genuine ink for the Pro Canon photo printers. Results are outstanding with photos you swear came from a pro lab.
