This calculator had survived nearly 9 years of torture from undergrad to graduate studies and then off to development. It has been the best investment I have ever made. I have used other TI series of calculators, which are great also, but for advanced functions, the TI-89 is perfect.

I LIKE THIS CALCULATOR BECAUSE I LIKE TO USE FOR STANDADARIZE TEST LIKE GED/SAT/CLEP/AP IN THE FUTURE.SO I RECOMEND THE TI-89 ADVANCE GRAPHIC CALCULATOR.

I am fairly certain all the glowing reviews of this product are from employees or paid hacks. This thing is a piece of junk, I am curious how much TI pays college professors to force us to buy these difficult to read, poorly documented, over priced hunks of crap. The display is unreadable unless you have a huge light directly over the display even then it sucks, especially compared to the displays available in other small hand held devices, like my iTouch or cell phone. The quality of the documentation is so convoluted and cryptic that it is all but unusable. Don't waste your money on this if you can get away with using a laptop and excel or other software.
Having been in engineering classes when the first HP calculator came out that was heavy as a brick and had no "memory", this is an amazing calculator and exactly what my son needed for school. As a matter of fact, he had the choice of renting one for a semester and loved it so much that I got him one for his birthday! He is thrilled.
