Well the first four books made me laugh, but after this book there are repetitive things that keep happening in the books. Grandma always says something or does something off the wall, the mother is always appalled at what Grandma says and is telling Stephanie to get a normal job. Stephanie and Morellis relationship is going nowhere and Ranger now likes Stephanie and Stephanie things she might like Ranger. Stephanies goes through cars like toilet paper. Whatever car she has at the moment (except the Buick) gets blown up or stolen. Some of the same lines from previous books have been repeated. Stephanie always loses the person she hunts down and she still makes stupid mistakes. I think its stupid her gun is usually never loaded and she is scared to use it. Shes a bounty hunter and obviously needs a gun for protection. It would be nice to Stephanie grow as a character and to see her relationship with Morelli turn into something serious and to see some growth in her career too. I dont even know if I want to continue reading the series.

Evanovich takes you for a ride down Crackin' Up Lane. I have laughed at this series so hard Ive cried!
Grandma! She kills me!
Joyce - Ugh that witch!
Lula - the worst dressed, ghetto mouthed xhooker you will ever just adore!
Ranger - Mysterious and sexy, Do we want him? hmmm Do we dare?
The trusty Buick - the only thing that survives her antics.
Joe - ooohlala!
If you picked up this book and you haven't read the first 4 STOP! I promise you will enjoy every book more if you read them in order.
Just warn people around you about sudden bursts of laughter!
Enjoy
So far, I've read the first 5 Stephanie Plum mysteries, and I think that High Five is definitely the best one yet. I stayed up late so that I could read it all in one day and night. The pace seems quicker in this one, which may be why I found it difficult to put down, and there's a return of a villain from the first book. I found Stephanie's interaction with two new supporting characters (a little person and someone claiming to be a bookie) entertaining, and, as always, Grandma Mazur has some of the best lines. Evanovich has also included a component of sexual tension between Stephanie and Ranger, which is interesting and enjoyable to read about, and even at the end of the novel, it is unclear whether the sexual tension remains unresolved.
"High Five's the Best Yet----And What About the Little Black Dress"
Ok, besides looking for cheapskate Uncle Fred, trying to muscle over a dwarf who keeps escaping her, being broke since the FTA's are failing to appear on Uncle Vinnie's Desk, she begins odd jobs working for Ranger who also gives her two cars (one gets blown up and the other gets stolen), Ramirez gets out of jail and wants to show Steph "God", Steph and Lula hunt down a wife beater and I think he was their easiest catch of the book. Joe and Steph still can't manage to get together and maybe that's because of Ranger (who now we see his sexual attraction with Steph) though other than a nice smooch that's about all we get with Ranger...so far. The book was fast paced and a great read. I definately would recommend to anyone reading this series! I just have one question....Who did she put the little black dress on for? LOL!

this is the fith book in the Stephine Plum series. i found this to not be as page turning as the first two...believe it or not...Stephine's Uncle Fred goes missing and she is hired by her family to find him, but the thing is she barley talks about the whole Fred missing thing, its more of a "Do i like Ranger or Joe" thing going on through the book. i found the whole thing with Stephine liking Ranger, come out of left feild. i think Evanvoich just came with a deffernt direction with HIGH FIVE. i liked the whole questioning of what happened through her books but this one, i knew right away who the bad guy was. the ending was just, yeah, i knew that, why am i stell reading it?
