I was recommend Ratchet and Clank because I'm a big fan of the original Spyro the Dragon (before that purple little dragon turned into a sellout and was milked to death for the last several years).

I have to say though, this game is much worse than the original Spyro, and Ratchet and Clank mainly fails so hard because it's not nearly as fun, adventurous, or does it contain the same kind of beautiful and magical environments that Spyro did.

The main character in the game goes around slashing at things and breaking open boxes, but the thing is, the gameplay feels MUCH closer to Crash Bandicoot than to Spyro. In addition to that, the actual platforming is more often than not quite difficult and a HUGE pain.

Repeatedly falling off the edge of a strip of land while attempting to reach a higher area over and *over* again really gets on my nerves after a while. It means whenever I fall off from a high platform, I have to return to the same low spot, once again climb higher areas, and attempt to make a successful jump all over again. I don't enjoy doing this, and that's why Spyro the Dragon is the ultimate platform/adventure game to me because the very first Spyro game was capable of becoming a classic without falling victim to the same cliches that most platformers (including this one) are dominated with.

I also hate the way he jumps. It looks awkward and again brings back horrible memories of Crash Bandicoot and the way those overrated games play.

I'm disappointed big time that Ratchet and Clank falls short of my expectations, and I can't believe people would recommend me this game and would claim it brings back the adventurous kind of gameplay where the original Spyro series left off. I have to disagree. Just an above average platformer Ratchet and Clank is to me.

When I first got this game, I thought it was only for kids...

I was wrong! It's been a lot of fun, and even though I beat the game, I still continue to play it cause it's just that good

Highly recommend this one, it's a good game, regardless of age or gaming experience.

One day at our local GameStop my son saw this game for [...] he HAD to buy this game, so he bought it and went home(i could see he was riding his bike VERY fast). When he got home he popped the disk into his ps2 slim and got VERY addicted to it-loved the bomb glove(a wepon where you throw bombs). Overall 5 stars, buy for a hardcore gamer NOT for a casual gamer(buy them a wii insted).

- Decent number of levels
- Hoverboard racing!
- Hidden items waiting to be found
- Keeps you entertained for hours
- Great for young and old

Cons:

- Sometimes the camera angle is annoying
- Sometimes during the cut scenes there are awkward periods of silence

Ratchet and Clank is one of my favorite game series'. The mix of platforming, shooting, great characters, and funny stories, all make for an incredible series of games.

The first Ratchet and Clank game (titled simply "Ratchet and Clank), is a whole lot of fun, but unlike a couple of it's sequels, it isn't perfect. Ratchet and Clank 1, offers a series of great platforming, and it introduces the dynamic duo.

Still though, there are moments where Ratchet and Clank 1 can be frustrating. Do these moments ruin the game? Not at all, but they do make you realize that Ratchet and Clank didn't start out perfect.

Anyway, if you are a fan of Ratchet and Clank, or you want to see what all the buzz is about, go ahead and pick up this title. It certainly isn't bad, it just isn't the best Ratchet and Clank game to come out.
