As the mother of an 11 year old son who is a big fan of age of mythology, I feel qualified to write a brief review. This is money well spent. When sitting down to a computer game, this has been the only one my son has played since he got it. He claims that it is challenging, fun and that he has learned greek mythology as well. Highly recommend.

I bought this for my best friends son.She said that he has not stopped playing this game since he got home.I would highly recommend this game.

OK... I started way back with AOE 1.

Then I graduated to AOE II.

Then I found AOM. I played that a ton in high school. Lost the game.

We started playing AOE III in college. It was OK.

Then we discovered AOM again. AOM, out of all of these Microsoft Strategy games is the BEST ONE YOU CAN BUY!

I don't think this one gets boring. Playing multilayer is awesome. The Titans Expansion is also worth it.

And for under $10 you absolutely cannot go wrong!

I was hesitant to buy this game because I thought that it would be too much like the AGE OF EMPIRES games (which I owned and liked.) I found that this game differed enough to be worth the extra time and money. All the hero and mythology units really do add an entirely different feel to the play. Plus, the the story line and cut scenes for the 36 campaign scenerios was very well done. You actually begin to identify with the various characters. There are also enough minor differences in units and technology between this game and AOE to require a bit of learning- this isn't a straight clone. All-in-all I enjoyed the couple of weeks that it took me at night to fight my way through to the end. The single player custom scenarios are also quite entertaining. Actually I haven't enjoyed a game this much in years.

One small comment, I do not know where they get "nine civilizations" here. You have the Greeks, the Egyptians, and the Norse and their respective pantheons- even the Atlantians are clearly Greek.

As my title says this game is ridiculously fun! As a long time Age of Empires fan I was excited to see that this game was basically Age of Empires with some new tricks up it's sleeves and some interesting change sin game play. The graphics are surprisingly good. Some people have said that the campaign is too short but playing it through on hard it's by no means a short game, as far as I can remember the AOM campaign is longer than those from any of the AOE 3 and expansions packs. If you are a fan of Age of Empires this is definitely a game worth buying!
