I am disappointed with the format, which I find difficult to follow and understand. I don't have official "Brain Gym" Training, and the book certainly doesn't explain things well enough to stand alone. The illustrations are awful -- you would think you are reading something published 40 years ago! I even bought the "student edition" (small orange book)in hopes it would help. No luck!
I found MUCH better descriptions of the movements on YOUTUBE, and could have skipped the books altogether. |

I purchased this book after hearing about Brain Gym from another teacher at my school. I teach kindergarten and was interested in trying the Brain Gym techniques with my students. Because I ordered this near the end of the school year I only had a few weeks to try some of the exercises with my students. I was not able to see any academic improvement from using Brain Gym for such a brief amount of time, but my students did love the exercises and would ask if we could do Brain Gym on days that I would forget. I have previously done yoga and other stretching exercises with my students and I feel that exercises like these really do help children with balancing, etc...
I would recommend this book, although I agree with many of the other reviewers about the quality of the pictures in the book. They are hand drawn and are poor in showing what the exercise should look like. The written descriptions are better and the information that the book gives is very thourough. |

Great book on neuroscience and the brain and how it relates to learning capabilities on childrens.Drwas a lot from eastern and western aproaches to cognitive deveolpment.

| The information in this product could be given in a much more concise means, in a pamphlet for example. I was disappointed to receive so little for so much money. I was also purchasing the teacher's edition, and had read a review that to understand the teacher's book, one needed this book (the student book). Not true. Turns out that the teacher's book has the corresponding pages from this book on each page. All together I was very disappointed--another one of those self-published, self-illustrated (poorly), over-priced books. Shouldn't cost more than $4 or $5, but it does... |

| This book contains great information on the benefits of Brain Gym as well as how the children would perform each exercise. The only real downfall for me as a visual learner is that all the illustrations are hand drawn (and not that well). Personally, the pictures turned me off, but the information is great for all students. If you have an opportunity, preview the pictures first so that there are no surprises later. |
