"Transmits OK, but interference can be an issue"

This product works as designed and allows you to listen to other devices through your FM car stereo. FM interference can be an issue and the different frequencies supported by this inexpensive device may not give you the option you need to avoid the interference. Not bad, but not top of the line either. It works is how I would categorize it.
"A great little gadget"

I recently purchased the Belkin Tunecast; we obviously wanted something to allow us to listen to our mp3 player music (or portable CD player - heck I bet it will even work with my old Walkman cassette player!) on our stereo systems, and this was the easiest and least expensive route to go on our first try.
This model only has 4 channels to choose from, all in the 88 FM range, which is fine here - and it's not digital.
It plugs into any headphone outlet (i Pod, mp3 player, CD player, cassette player Walkmans from the '80s -- you name it). It's not just for i Pods - don't let the name fool you!
The Tunecast is totally battery powered (at least the one I have is), which is a downside to it b/c I'll forever be replacing its batteries (charge, charge, charge). I'm not sure of the range of it, and frankly I don't care what the range is because I plan to sit it right next to the radio that will receive the signal. And it works like a charm - I've tried it with two mp3 players on two different stereo systems in our home and have no complaints about the sound quality.
The only other issue I have with it, besides that it didn't come with any sort of power-cord capability, is that to receive s STRONG signal from my mp3 players, I need to turn the mp3 player volume all the way up. Then the signal is just as good of quality as the radio stations and/or a CD player attached to a component system.
I, personally, am looking to a summer of music on our patio without the interruptions of annoying and obnoxious radio station commercials. Finally!
"Really Good 4 the Price"

This unit was better than most but could be better if Belkin would offer about three more frequencies. This unit does seem to connect to the station that is selected pretty good, even if it is a strong or week broadcast already on that station. Having a fresh strong new set of batteries in the unit helps to get better performance. The "Tunecast" also has low interference with good strong batteries. The audio cord coming from "TuneCast" for your mp3, or CD could stand to be a little bit longer but overall this was a good unit for the price.
Pros: It's cheap. I got 3 of them for about $10 dollars somewhere.
Cons: A waste of my $10 dollars. Sound quality is fuzzy at best, even when it's sitting less than 5 feet away from the radio. Lot's of static if you even nudge the transmitter. Frequently *goes dead silent*; I have 3 units and they're all identical in this respect.
I hate to say "you get what you pay for" because you don't even get that much with this thing.
It is, however, a great gift to give to someone you don't like or want to irritate for a few hours. It's dead simple to set up and use, so when it doesn't work they'll start pulling out hair trying to figure out why until they realize that the unit just doesn't work as you'd think.
"Bad Product"

Brand new batteries, I had to sit with in two feet of the antenna. Then is worked fine. At any distance other than two feet it did not work at all. The signals coming in on 88.5 were practically non existent. For the folks that get this to work " more power to them " but really, this does not work. I gave it one star because I am not out that much money. I don't see how companies can put out stuff like this. Don't buy product. Thank you.
"Not worth the $15.00 i spent on it"

i bought on of this from Wal-Mart, and i wish i have just saved the money and spent it towards a better car adapter. the batteries die after about 3 or 4 hours (assuming you take them out, if you leave them in, they die overnight) and it's terrible at getting radio reception. when i drive from college to my house i change the radio station on it about 5 times in an hour and a half.
