We at Timeship Studio use ATR-35S for years in dubbing international videos and narrating documentaries, as well as in extensive audiobook production and radio drama voice acting. Attached to any wireless transmitter, they are easy to conceal and they do not interfere with the actor's work, whether on stage our outdoors. We also use them as replacement boom mikes to any semi-pro headphones, such as Nady DJ or Yamaha CM500 by soldering the ATR's head to the existing arm-and-cabling or just clipping them on. ATR-35S delivers much more better frequency (deep bass and crystal-clear highs!) for voice-acting or VO than any semi-pro headset boom mike on the market. Why spending $100+ for a good one if you can go with less than $30? Therefore, we give ATR-35S the highest rating available for semi-pro line equipment (EXCELLENT!), and we recommend it to any videographer, narrator, podcaster, and even short film HDV producer in need of mobility. I am not an audio or video expert but I found that this mic really worked for me. I started doing some video reviews on Amazon.com and the first thing that I realized was that I needed a seperate mic. When I used the mic on the camera it sounded as if I was in a cave.
I first bought a wireless mic (from Amazon) and it didn't work for me. I don't think that I have ever sent anything back to Amazon (and I have purchased over 800 items) but I returned it. I then bought this item which cost a quarter of what the wireless mic cost. It has given me better results than I expected and even though it has a cord I have found that it works really well for me. I would certainly buy one again if I needed to.
I bought one not expecting much, but was blown away by the power and sound quality the 35S delivered! Great as a backup mic if your pro lavaliere is down. Highly Recommended.

Why is this thing listed for $80??? These go for roughly $25 or less! It's a simple device, look elsewhere for a cheaper one you WILL FIND IT!
I do recommend it, though, just not from this seller (if it's still over $30 when you read this). If it's less than $30, then BUY BUY BUY!!!

This mic really did surprise me for a low end mic like this. It gets decent quality. Comapared to built-in onboard mics, this mic can really make a world of difference in clarity. The only problem is that the super long cord can get in the way of setting up and packing up. Otherwise, for the price and when in a pinch (like I was for a shoot) this is a good way to go.
