I plugged this mike into an audio board as a back up unit to three Sony ECM 55 pro lavalier / lapel mikes. While I assume an audio engineer would find fault with it, I didn't hear any drop off in quality. I'd use it. Also, I think it'd be a great little mike to use in school / instructional situations. if you lose or break it, it will not break the bank.

Mine recorded mono, so on my stereo productions it played from one speaker, and from final cut I had to render as mono. Sounds quality is great, would recommend taping the wind screen to the mic itself as it fell off numerous times. Overall I would recommend this product if wireless is not an option.

For the price of this mic it can't be beat. Some of the posts on here about it being very quite I agreed with at first... until I realized I had the batteries in backwards. I've already used this microphone on a number of interviews and it's worked much better then expected every time. I'm tempted to buy a couple more just to have as back up

Great lavalier, and good price, like the fact that it has 20 ft cord and that the sound is decent for relatively inexpensive lavalier. Good Brand and received quick from Amazon. If you need a decent lavalier for small video shoots this is the one for you.

I am new to film-making but the few videos I have shot have yielded excellent sound... They were close range interview/short film type videos. This sounded better than the built in mikes on camcorders I have had in the past. The only bad part? There is a tiny on/off switch that I forgot to shut off the first time I used it to film, since we were filming for a long period. This obviously drained the battery and even though its not expensive to replace, I would get a few back ups just in case.

I use the mic for interviews to go in web commercials. The cord is long enough but is a little hard to wrangle if subject moves around. But a wireless lav system would cost more. If your subject is stationary, this mic will suit you well. It is a very good, low cost lav mic. There audio is clear with very little hiss. Be sure to place the small watch battery that powers the mic or you will get a lot of hiss and low sensitivity.

There are only two issues I would point out with this microphone:br / 1) The inline on/off switch with battery. It requires that you remember to turn on the microphone before use and turn off the microphone after use. You also need to keep a spare battery on hand. br / 2) It is a mono plug. I use the microphone to record interviews where I'm plugging the mic directly into my camcorder. Since the camcorder can accept stereo sound, the microphone by itself only records onto the left channel. An inexpensive mono-to-stereo converter (about $2) found at any Radio Shack solves that problem.br /br /All-in-all this is a great little microphone. It is very inconspicuous on camera, picks up sound very well and the long cord is almost overkill for face to face interviews. If your subject needs to be mobile the cord would be a big drawback. However, if your subject is seated this is a perfect cost saving mic.
