The item shipped to me was not new. There was nothing in the seller's information that indicated the product was used or refurbished, etc. Very deceptive.

It is very soft like rubber. I doubt it will protect the item from a fall, but it does help keep it clean and protects a majority of my Zune from scratches (except the screen). A nice feature is the Zune's three main face buttons are completely covered with this product's rubber surface, so food and crud can't get into the buttons. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. Wish it was cheaper.
