![]() | "Somewhat a little controversial - needs to be "re-written"" | 2010-06-01 |
| I give this book a 50/50 coin toss; it needs to be updated and more worded carefully. Not exactly a "medical" aspect in regards to terminology being used; which a reader reading this can take or get the wrong idea. While the idea and perspective is good in my own opinion, it needs to be re-written. | ||

![]() | "This was an upgrade from my MS Office Home and Student 2007" | 2010-05-31 |
| A generous gift, and it is truly amazing considering everything I own are full complete versions (going all the way back to Word Perfect); and now my MS Office 2007 is a Full Version.
:) I noticed from postings that many individuals are having some trouble understanding or comprehending or grasping the concept of MS Office 2007 Ultimate; with my experience and expertise - I must elaborate this, unless you have experiences with previous Full Versions of Pro Editions of Works / MS Office, it may be quite "intimidating" at first. Here are some helpful benefits for you: 1) for each and every program, they must be configured individually (for one size does not fit all); and if you use the same format for "All Documents", make sure you select "All Documents" - not just for the individual Document. 2) There is an "Advanced" feature in 2007 (all versions) - if you scroll down and click on it, it will drop down a huge menu - please study it very carefully and select the options that you need and want and check mark / or / tick the box that suits or fits your need. NOTE: This application will only work for that specific program, for example in MS Word - that setting will be configured for MS Word; likewise, whatever you have set for MS Excel, MS Groove, etc - will be set accordingly. 3) The "TRUSTED RESOURCES" - which makes some people "scared" to use, can be of benefit if you use the features accordingly; while many are automatically disabled or prompted, you can configure this to suite your needs - read it carefully, but avoid using the "Open Source" which would put your MS Office into the vulnerability stages (even if you have Security System) - this includes - Macros, Languages, et al. 4) Dictionaries and References will only work when you are online and please, by all means, use the Trusted Resources only - and select the options as you need; this will eliminate the unnecessary need to run to the internet and into the web to find translation and/or information. I strongly recommend that one to "play with it" (you can't break it) and practice with it upfront and get acquainted with it, you will soon find it that it is not all that bad - so that when MS Office 2010 comes to being (which will not have the Ribbons - as that will become optional) - you will be well prepared! :)

![]() | "Just when you thought "Clippy" was gone, here's "Ribbons"" | 2010-05-05 |
| I have owned Microsoft Offices - since Word Perfect; who can forget MS Office "Clippy" - the obnoxious paper clip? It is difficult to judge in comparison between the "Clippy" and 2007's "Ribbon" feature. (Fortunately MS Office 2010 has changed this avenue to being an optional feature - thank goodness!)
PROS: More functionality More secured More advantages More language availability More compatibility functionality Got to love the "Trusted Resource" feature Additional hidden bonus of the ability of clicking on the "Advanced" mode and whatever floats your boat - you can select MS Office (Any Version) to suit your needs The Ability to select various background instead of one "standard shade" when starting it Functionality of option of ability to use in colors, macros, et al. Functionality of being able to add or remove on the toolbar Abilities to configure to set according to your preference (Addendum: this may not be an optional function if it is Professional or Business owned and the Corporation and or Company had pre-set the configuration - just so to note for those looking at other MS Office Versions) CONS: Time consuming to configure and pre-set everything (make sure you have it configured for ALL DOCUMENTS if you so want this set for ALL DOCUMENTS, otherwise you are going to end up having to configure it every time you open up a new document) Ribbons Ribbons Ribbons Ribbons Did I stress the impact enough on Ribbons? I would have given it a 5 star rating - but for me, I dropped it down by one all because of the danged RIBBONS. Of note - I have added the above information tips and tricks, for those applications will also apply on MS Office 2010 when you obtain it; the feature will remain the same, sans the Ribbon, which now will become an optional feature, you can put that Ribbon back if you love it ..

![]() | "Controversial but worth reading repetitiously" | 2009-10-29 |
| One of the most profound books I've ever purchased on Amazon, and every time I read it; I learn something new that I had not noticed before. While this book I am aware has always been a controversial book, but it is truly unique and interesting. This is one book that you can read, learn something - put it away.
Wait for a time being, return back to it - read it all over again and it becomes a totally different aspect, perspective, and depth than when you first read it. I originally purchased this with attempts to understand the Geschwind's Syndrome, but instead - it's become an uncanny book that you cannot surrender or give it up. Indeed, I had a few folks whom borrowed it declaring it being "spooky" to "psycho" due to lack of understanding of Epilepsy, which has given me the conclusion that one must understand or at least have some general understanding of Epilepsy upfront prior to reading this book. Those who had knowledge of or partial knowledge of Epilepsy found it quite mysterious to mestermizing, in fact, one actually purchased one for themselves. For one to Judge on the book, it is strongly recommended repetitive readings of this controversial book, for whereas, it is then when you gain insight and to a point, like myself, unable to put it all down in words.
