Hellboy Volume 1 : Seed of Destruction - NEW EDITION! (Hellboy)Hellboy Volume 1 : Seed of Destruction - NEW EDITION! (Hellboy)
Rated 5 Stars"FROGS!" 2007-06-26
'Hellboy: Seeds of Destruction' is a brilliant beginning to an awesome series. The art is breathtaking, yet dark and gritty. The storyline is captivating and toughly entertaining. The characters are completely unbelievable, yet feel so real. This series is defiantly one worth reading.

'Seeds of Destruction' is basically the origin story of Hellboy. HB is investigating the death of his father figure, the only lead he has being frogs. A frog demon creature was responsible for the attack, but HB can not put two and two together on this case. He and the rest of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense follow a new lead to a cursed mansion that is sinking into a cursed lake where all hell breaks loose (almost literally). All the while we're learning more and more about Hellboy and his past.

There are also two bonus stories, one being Hellboy vs. Anubis (aka Giant Dog Monster) and the other Hellboy vs. Brutus and Herman Von Klempt. These two tales were penned too give people a sample of Hellboys flavor before the comic officially hit shelves. So, they are short and to the point, but still decent for what they are.

BUY THIS COLLECTION! You defiantly will not regret it, the book is worth every penny.

The Two Princesses of BamarreThe Two Princesses of Bamarre
Rated 4 Stars"Light Hearted Adventure" 2007-05-15
I have to be honest, the only reason I picked up this book in the first place was the girl on the cover resembled Ginny Weasley from the Harry Potter movies. I was, however, pleasantly surprised. Sure, I had a hard time getting into the story at first, the writing was choppy and I had a hard time distinguishing between the characters at times, but once I was able to get past its few shortcomings it was a fairly pleasant experience. It was a quick read (only 240 pages) and a cute story, perfect for any child (or child at heart) who loves fantasy novels or light hearted adventure stories.

Princess Meryl is an adventurous young girl who does nothing except practice her swordsmanship and dream about charging into battle against the many monsters the plague Bamarre. While her sister Princess Addie is just the opposite, she is timid, shy, and scared of her own shadow. One day however Meryl is taken ill with the 'Gray Death' (a terrible diseases which always ends in death. no cure has ever been found). Addie, although still very scared, sets out on a journey to find the cure. On her quest she encounters Ogres, Gryphons, Specters, Dragons, and Fairies. Overcoming the odds she hopes for a fairy tale ending.

I'm going to list and describe Addies magical items that she takes with her because I feel like they are an important part of the story and/or might give you a little more incentive to pick up the book.

Shadow's Cloak: Not a true invisibility cloak, but as long as the user stays in the shadows he or she will be unseen by most creatures (does not work on Specters or Dragons).

The Tablecloth: At the users command it sets a table and provides an endless amount of food.

Blood-Biter: Meryl's sword, given to Addie.

Moily Herb: An elf remedy that gives you strength to go on, also can heal burns.

Seven-League Boots: When wearing these boots a single step will carry you thousands of miles.

Spyglass: Allows the user to see thousands of miles in any direction. Addie uses this to keep an eye on Meryl's condition and to plan her steps with the League Boots.

This book is a great quick read for anyone looking for a light hearted adventure novel. Perfect for rainy days or summer readings.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of FireHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Rated 5 Stars"best book in the series" 2007-05-13
This was actually my favorite book in the series. Between the Quidditch World Cup and Triwizard Tournament who wouldn't fall in love with it?

The book starts off as usual with Harry Potter living with the Dursleys. He's had a terrible nightmare about Lord Voldemort followed by searing pain in his scar, which is never a good sign, but he shrugs it off after being invited to join Hermione Granger and the Weasly's to the Quidditch World Cup. He enjoys a nice day of events but as night falls the Death Eaters attack. Potter and his friends flee into the woods where the dark mark appears in the sky, and of course they are blamed.

After returning to Hogwarts, Harry is chosen as one of Hogwarts Champions in the Triwizard Tournament. He is excused from final exams but has to face three challenges; Dragons, Rescuing Hostages, and a Maze filled with monsters, traps, and other unknown pearls. Nothing, however, can prepare Harry for his toughest challenge yet, asking a girl to the Yule Ball.

As I've already said, this was my favorite book out of the lot. It was different from the first three and Harry isn't the annoying temperamental pain that he is throughout the rest of the series. If you haven't already, BUY THIS BOOK!

Nightwing: A Knight in BludhavenNightwing: A Knight in Bludhaven
Rated 5 Stars"Nightwing Takes Bludhaven" 2007-04-29
Dick Grayson has always been one of my favorite characters. I was one of the people cheering when he stepped out from under the Bat's shadow. I was even happier when he moved into his own city.

'A Knight in Bludhaven' collects issues 1-8 and documents Graysons first steps into the 'haven a city that makes Gotham look safe. Grayson has no one to lean on, even the local law enforcement is crooked.

Grayson is drawn to the city after twenty-one dead bodies turn up on the shores of Gotham. He quickly learns what kind of city he's landed in. Right off the bus Grayson has to step in to break up an attempted rape. From there he gets himself a ratty apartment, a job, and begins to make his pressence known to the local low lifes. After awhile Grayson decides that it would be best for Nightwing to become a permanate fixture in the 'haven. He says the city not only deserves a guardian but it definatly needs one.

Batman and Robin (Tim Drake) make cameo apperances.

Rated 5 Stars"YooooooooooooooooooooooJIMBO!" 2006-09-18
In this collection we are introduced to our hero Miyamoto Usagi as well as other notable figures in the Usagi Yojimbo universe.

Here is a summary of the chapters with as little spoilers as possible.

Chapter One: The Goblin of Adachigahara
Our first story pits Miyamoto Usagi against a man eating troll. We are also told a little of Usagi's back story which will be told in greater detail in the next novel.

Chapter Two: Lone Rabbit and Child
In this chapter we are introduced to Tomoe Ame and Lord Noriyuki. They are traveling on their way to Edo so that the young Noriyuki can take his place as the leader but a rival lord placed a bounty on their head and they had to endure several ambushes. They meet Usagi and he accompanies them to their castle fighting threw bounty hunters all the way.

Chapter Three: The Confession
Usagi runs into a dieing Samurai who was carrying a letter that proved Lord Hikiji to be responsible for the attacks on Lord Noriyuki. Usagi delivers the letter to Tomoe Ame

Chapter Four: Bounty Hunter
In this chapter we are introduced to one of my favorite characters Gennosuke (simply called Gen by most). He is a bounty hunter who hires Usagi to be his body guard for a dangerous mission. This is also the beginning of a long running love/hate relationship between Gen and Usagi.

Chapter Five: Horse Thief
Miyamoto Usagi runs into some bandits. After slaying one he takes the bandits horse into town hoping to sell it. He is accused by the villagers as being a horse thief and chased out of town.

Chapter Six: Village of Fear
Usagi meets a monstrous beast that has been haunting a town. He discovers that the beast is actually a shape shifter and he confronts the villain in hopes of freeing the village from fear.

Chapter Seven: A Quiet Meal
One of my favorite stories in the Usagi Yojimbo series. Miyamoto Usagi is enjoying a quiet meal when a group of loud mouth hooligans enters the inn. They raise hell by throwing customers (and the owner) out one at a time, however when they came to Usagi they had a tad bit of difficulties.

Chapter Eight: Blind Swordspig
In this chapter we meet Ino a blind outlaw pig who just wants to find a safe place to live. After fighting off a village who tried to kill him for a reward he meets up with Usagi. They pair share a few laughs but after it is revealed that Ino was the one who destroyed half of the village the pair face off in a showdown that ends in catastrophe. This is the start of a rivalry between Ino and Usagi that will last for many novels to come.

Chapter Nine: Homecoming
Usagi's wanderings leads him back to his home village which just happens to be under attack by mole ninjas. We are introduced to Usagi's love interest Mariko and his old rival Kenichi. We are given another sample of Usagi's past.

Chapter Ten: Bounty Hunter 2
Usagi runs into Gen the Bounty Hunter who once again drags the bunny on a wild adventure. This time however Usagi walks away with the last laugh.

Overall this is an awesome graphic novel. Like many people before me have said it's one for all ages. You'll enjoy this whether you're nine or eighty-nine. It truly is entertainment for the whole family. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the Usagi Yojimbo series or to those already fans of the series looking for some awesome Usagi tales.

Will Smith - Lost and FoundWill Smith - Lost and Found
Rated 5 Stars"Awsome Album for TRUE rap fans" 2006-09-11
Unlike most people I am not afraid to say that this album is awesome. Some children will tell you that you're not a true rap fan if you listen to this but I'm going to say the opposite. If you shoot down this album without even giving it a chance...then you are not a true rap fan.

I was about to give up on mainstream hip hop. It was getting dull and repetitive. Every track was basically a knock off of the one that came before it. I had retreated into my dungeon of underground records when someone bought me Hitch. The movie came with a Lost and Found concert. I popped it in figuring...Hell, it's free and I was pleasantly surprised.

To tell you the truth Switch is the worst track on this disc. If you are fed up with mainstream hip hop then you'll fall in love with Lost & Found it's basically a song that lists everything that is wrong with mainstream hip hop today. Tell Me Why is a very strong track that starts off with Will's reaction to the events of 9/11 and then goes onto question the problems of society. Ms. Holy Roller is another powerful track about those Christian Nazi's that condemn you to hell for your actions even though you've been down with the G-O-D forever. I Wish I Made That is another great song about the evils of mainstream hip hop and also digs into the topic that you have to be "gangsta" these days to move records...and Slide is just a very entertaining track about people who can't dance. There are other songs but they aren't really worth reviewing.

All in all I highly recommend this album to any TRUE rap fan.

Don't buy this game. It is complete and total crap. The game play is terrible and the graphics are horrible. Now, don't get me wrong. I am a huge wrestling fan...but this game is (and I am sorry for a lack of better words) complete trash. You irish whip someone and they keep running until they hit something...even if you whip them from one end of the screen to the other...they can't stop...they run full speed across the screen and smack into something...That isn't fun.

If you want a good wrestling game buy one of the SmackDown! games.

THIS IS NOT A Laurie Anderson MOVIE! THIS IS A PRO-WRESTLING DVD.

Ultimate Pro-Wrestling is a pretty good organization. They work somewhat closely with the WWE (John Cena and Heidenrich are from UPW) Personally, I haven't seen this DVD but I have seen many other UPW events. So if you're into the indy scene you'll be plesantly surprised with this organization.
