	Roku Digital Video Player

I purchased the Roku as a replacement for a different device that I had issues with. I have been very impressed by the Roku product. Pro + Easy to Setup + Built In Wireless (wired too!) + Small footprint (for those with tons of devices) + Can use programmable remote or All In One to control (Don't have to use yet another remote!) + Netflix connection is great and video quality has been excellent for me. + Amazon Video On Demand is nice to have (haven't used it much yet) + Price is very reasonable at around $100 + Supports future updates with downloadable firmware updates + Netflix users may be able to have the Roku pay for itself by going to a smaller plan. + The Roku is Super Easy To Use! + Support for MLB.TV (though I don't use it, it's nice to have the option.) I really didn't have any negatives to report. Important Tip: Your video quality and the time it takes to stream the videos is a direct result of your internet connection. I suggest at least a 2MB connection, although Roku suggests 1.2MB I believe. You can't go wrong having a faster connection though (I have a 6MB connection). Some people have been able to drop premium cable or dish channels and get a higher internet plan with the difference. Also, I would suggest making sure you like the selection of movies and shows available from Netflix and Amazon. Although the device works great, they have no control over the content that Netflix or Amazon has available!
	Galapagos [Blu-ray]
	"Great Nature Documentary : Beautiful Scenes & Exotic Wildlife"	2009-09-22
Galapagos may not be as stunning as Planet Earth, but that doesn't mean it's not a great nature film with beautiful scenes and exotic wildlife. If you are not familiar with the Islands featured in the film, than you will enjoy learning about them and why they are historically important. The cinematography is well done, and the narrator has a pleasant voice that doesn't stand out from the film (as it shouldn't). The three scenes are about 50 minutes each, and the focus is primarily on the formation and life cycle of the islands and the wildlife that call them home. There are great shots of animals under the water as we've come to expect, and the music to some of these is enjoyable. If you enjoy nature and great cinematography, you will enjoy Galapagos.

The price point is probably worth it to professional users because of the new options and being able to open all DWG formats, as well as save in older formats in case you collaborate with others using older versions. Those unable to afford the Full AutoCAD package may find the LT version meets their needs.
	Band of Brothers [Blu-ray]
	"Excellent War Series with Stunning Cinematography"	2009-09-07
I first watched Band of Brothers when it came out on DVD years ago, and eventually picked it up on Blu-ray because I knew how great the picture looked on standard definition, and could not wait to watch the entire series again on Blu-ray. The HD version is even better, with stunning cinematography and amazing sound. The series is so good, I actually find myself watching it every once in a while on television when it comes on around Memorial Day or Veterans Day. The series follows Easy Company from boot camp to the very end of the war. The scenes featuring the actual soldiers talking about their experiences really help you feel for all those guys. I've seen a lot of war movies, but Band of Brothers is unlike any other I have seen as far as quality and depth. Bottom Line: Anyone who enjoys military history or war movies will absolutely love Band of Brothers, and we can all learn some lessons of honor and integrity from these brave soldiers that the story is based on.
	LG Xenon (AT&T) (Blue)

I bought the Xenon to replace a Samsung Propel. I wanted a phone that would be easier to text with. The propel had a qwerty keyboard, but the keys were a bit small. The Xenon came along and grabbed my attention. Here are my thoughts on the LG Xenon. Pros: - The Xenon keyboard is easy to use, even for a guy like me with bigger fingers. - The battery life is better than I expected (I don't text all day though so your mileage may vary). - The touchscreen works fairly easy and seems to respond decent enough for me. - The screen is large enough to use the Internet for quick information without scrolling constantly. - The phone is designed well and sleek. - The phone really is superior to most others for Text Messaging. Cons: - The phone has some minor quirks that I'd like to see fixed. Ex: Having to enter your password to clear the entire call log is annoying. - Since it is a touchscreen, you will want to buy a screen protector. I suggest a rubber protective case with the screen protector. - If you do not use a data plan you may find yourself accidentally getting online. The work around for this is creating invalid profiles... Even with the cons listed, I couldn't drop the rating to 4 stars because the phone really is a good deal. As always, I'd suggest visiting a retail store to try it out before purchasing to make sure it's comfortable for you.

The Sony DSC-S750 offers a lot of camera for the money. The unit is very simple to use, and comes with a rechargeable battery, which is a great thing. If you've ever used a regular battery in a digital camera, you know how fast they go. Since the battery is rechargeable, you won't be spending a ton of money on those "Photo" batteries either! This camera offers multiple quick set modes for taking pictures in the most common environments, so you don't need to be a techie to choose the right settings. While the camera is easy to use, it does offer some more in depth features for those folks who want to tweak their photos or just want to play with the advanced settings. With a large screen for viewing your pictures, you will be able to check them immediately to make sure you got the shot you wanted. The removable memory stick makes getting pictures printed at a local store easier than ever. Just pop out the memory stick and take it with you! The Sony DSC-S750 has been my favorite camera for a year now. I don't take a ton of pictures, and I'm not a professional, but the pictures turn out great, and the camera is easy to use.
	Richard Pryor: Live in Concert

I have always loved Richard Pryor's standup. As a kid I watched his movies, but they do not represent the real Richard Pryor. I have watched most, if not all of his standup performances available on video, and this one is truly the best. Richard is crude and raunchy, but he speaks the truth that we never talk about! It's really hard to describe how funny this DVD is, because they was just so much material that spanned a lot of subjects. Some of my favorites include Richard's bit about the woods, including a deer and a bear as well his bit about his pet monkey and his dogs. We couldn't leave out the sex part of course, and he has plenty to say on that subject, and you may find yourself thinking of certain relationships when he gets into the sex bit. If you enjoy standup, don't mind the adult language, and want to laugh your butt off, then Richard Pryor Live will not disappoint! I didn't notice any issues with the video, but I wasn't paying much attention to the sound or picture, I was too busy laughing!

I have been a longtime fan of Kodak digital cameras. This is my third, and I have bought Kodak digital cameras for my mother and niece as well. I do wish the Z712 would have come with a rechargable battery as well, but I knew before ordering that it did not. I have owned this camera for well over a year now, and it still works great. I don't use the advanced features much, usually just set it to automatic and start clicking away. The zoom is nice, and was one of the primary features I considered when buying this particular model. I think the Z712 is a nice midrange digital camera, in terms of features. As far as price goes, even at original launch price, it was good, but I realize it has been out a while, and so the price has come down considerably. The value you now get with the Z712 is really outstanding in my opinion. I will continue to stand behind Kodak digital cameras because I have never had any issues, and that includes my Kodak Z712.

	Onkyo TX-SR505 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver - Black

I bought this receiver after purchasing (& returning) a Sony receiver that was broken right out of the box. I have never owned an Onkyo until this one, and I have been impressed. I primarily needed it to use with my HD-DVD player (replaced with a PS3) and my Xbox 360. I found the setup to be quite easy, and I used HDMI and optical cables. Yes, there is some confusion about HDMI audio, but I knew what I was getting considering the price level of this receiver! I have used the receiver quite a bit in the past 3 months since anytime I play videos games or watch rented movies it has to be on with my current setup. I have yet to have any issues with the unit, and I am very happy with my purchase. Is it the best on the market? Of course not, but I think it is the best at this price level. If you have $800-$1500 I'm sure you do a lot better, but if you just need a basic home theater receiver, I can recommend this unit.

I purchased the Playstation 3 primarily as a replacement for my HD-DVD player. I already owned an Xbox 360, but there was no question that the PS3 was a great deal when you look at buying a Bluray player. It's like buying a DVD player and getting a gaming system for free! So, being a gamer I also bought a few used games to try out as well. I have been very happy with the system, and I do like some of the features Sony has built in such as the wireless connectivity right out of the box. I went ahead and updated the system to the newest firmware as soon as it was hooked up. That is a HUGE benefit for any device, but especially a Bluray Player since they will continue to add features, etc... I was never a "fanboy" of the 360, but I had owned an original Xbox (no issues for me!) and then bought an Xbox 360 (RROD on the first one - replaced free). I have noticed now that I am buying new games on the PS3 platform instead of the 360. I am now thinking that since most games come out on both systems, I can get rid of my 360 and save some space and make few hundred dollars as well. So, I have found the Playstation3 makes me happy as both a movie buff and a gamer, and I can't ask for much more than, so if you are looking for a bluray player, the PS3 is a great buy, and if you are looking for a gaming system, the PS3 is a great buy. I think that about sums it up :-)
	Sony PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Disc Remote

Since it looks like many here have mentioned the biggest downside to the remote, which is the power button, I will elaborate on what I think is the coolest thing about the remote, which is the bluetooth! I personally don't mind the lacking power button, it's not that big of a deal to hit the PS3 button and choose shutdown. It's not like you have to get up to turn it off. But, the most exciting thing to me is the bluetooth. I still find myself pointing the remote at the PS3 out of habit, but it is an awesome change from my other remotes, some of which don't work if you are accidently blocking part of the IR. I think this will revolutinize all remotes in the future, and a few years from now we will wonder why the heck we ever used IR remotes that need line of sight. For the price of this remote, I think you will be very pleased.
	MLB 08: The Show

I have always been an avid baseball fan, and now I am finally happy playing a console baseball game. I really like the simplicity that MLB 08 The Show offers, and it's easy to start playing, even with someone who has never played before. As an avid fan, I really enjoy the "Going to the Show" feature, and having played over 100 games now, I have made it through the minors to the majors, and the gameplay is still fun. My only warning is you may get a bit tired of the same announcers saying basically the same things, but I find it doesn't bother me too much. I guess there is only so much to say anyway! All in all, this is a really fun game that looks good and play smooth too.

	Sony DCR-DVD108 DVD Handycam Camcorder with 40x Optical Zoom

I have had quite a few camcorders over the years (none of them Sony), and when I was looking for a new one, I did my usual 3-4 weeks of researching, etc. I chose the Sony DVD handycam because it was easy to use, the menu was pretty straightfoward, it had a 40x optical zoom (compared to 32x) and it was DVD. I was skeptical about the dvd part because I had heard about the minimal recording time, etc but I didn't understand the different disk formats I guess. Anyway, I am very pleased with this camcorder, and being able to shoot in a 16:9 format is also a nice feature I didn't even think about at first. So, although I am new to Sony camcorders, I am really enjoying this one. My only advice would be to go ahead and buy the memory stick and the disk pack when you buy the camera because you will want them!
	Samsung HPR5052 50" Flat Panel HD-Ready Plasma TV

I recently bought this TV at Best Buy for $2400 - it was an open box item, but came with a 4 year in home warranty, so what the heck. I have to say the TV is just amazing. I knew they looked good from seeing them in the store, but the store lighting does not do it justice. The picture is amazing, even with just a plain digital signal. HDTV is mindblowing. I had no problems setting it to "stretch" the screen when displaying a standard channel. I was worried about sidebars, but no need for worry with this TV. The picture quality is the best available in my opinion, and even the sound from the TV is pretty good, so if you don't have surround sound yet, you will still be impressed a bit. I give it 5 stars, and kudos to Samsung for a great product! BTW, if you have a lot of regular DVD,s and can't afford to upgrade to HD-DVD yet, check out an upconverting dvd player, but make sure it used HDMI, which this TV supports.
	XB 360 The Outfit

In the Outfit, you choose from three playable squad leaders - each has their own skills and weapons. The game has interactive surroundings and you can blow up about anything. As you complete mission objectives, you earn Field Units (FUs), that can be spent to order "Destruction on Demand(tm)" - air-dropped into the action at any time. With "Destruction On Demand(tm)" (D.O.D.) you can order in everything from tanks, jeeps, half-tracks to machine-guns and anti-tank weapons. You can also call in replacement soldiers anytime you need them. The vehicles each drive a little different, and sometimes you end up on the side of a mountain, but they are a lot of fun. Just watch out for rpg's or you will be blown up with the vehicle. The game supports 720p and 5.1 Dolby. The Outfit looks and feels good. I have really enjoyed this game and have played it for hours straight. It is somewhat different than Call of Duty, but special in it's own way. I highly recommend The Outfit for anybody who likes the war action games.
	The State Boys Rebellion

The State Boys Rebellion tells the story of the Fernald State School in Massachusetts. Michael D'Antonio does a great job of telling the story through the eyes of Freddie Boyce, a child that grew up in Fernald. The story is quite chilling, specially to those of us who did not live through that time period. It is disgraceful that we, the United States actually started Eugenics, although I was taught in school that Nazi Germany was the creator. This book should remind us that as a society, we sometimes leave out the bad stuff our forefathers did, even if they meant no harm. I would highly reccomend this book to anyone, but it will touch the heart of anyone with a child who is considered "special".
	F'd Companies: Spectacular Dot-Com Flameouts

I really enjoyed this book. It is a quick read, but will definately give you a chuckle. If you do not like profanity, this book is not for you. However, if you want to see how the dot bomb wasted millions / billions of dollars, then F'd company will share the stupidty of these companies. I just wonder who was dumber, the people who started these companies, or the morons who gave them cash?

It is very nice to see someone talk about business in a way that is touching and human. After all the huge scandals of rich business people screwing the little guy, reading about these heros is quite refreshing. It gives you hope that maybe there are still a lot of GOOD people left in this world. The stories are very personal, touching, and uplifting. I highly reccomend this book to everyone.

I bought this to replace a similar APC unit I had run 24 horus a day for over 4 years. I would highly reccomend this unit to anyone wanting protection as well as some backup power for a few minutes. I have not had an incident such as the one person to review here, but his review was not even on this product. I have used APC for years, including over 50 of them at work, and have never had a problem with protection. I reccomend APC for anyone needing power protection.
	Scent-Sation Charmeuse Seamless Satin Leopard Print Sheet Set

	House, M.D. - Season One

I am not usually into medical dramas. However, I happen to tune in when this show premiered last year, and have to say I really enjoyed every episode of Season 1. House MD should not really be described as a medical drama, which sounds like another E.R. type show. House MD is more like a medical comedy with a serious twist. I love Dr. House for his truly entertaining personality. He is a smart-alleck who happens to be right most of the time. He is the "go against the grain" type doctor who does not care for the daily stupidity of hospital politics and avoids doing any clinic work at all costs. His relationships with his employees as well as his boss really makes the show. When you add the actual medical part into this mix, what you get is House MD, a truly enjoyable medical show that touches a wide audience. I highly reccomend this and urge to watch Season 2 when it debuts.
	Thunder Road

Up until now, my favorite has been Haunted. Thunder Road has move up on the list. With more characters, a deeper story, and a mixture of emotions, Thunder Road will keep you guessing, wondering, and worrying about the characters. I definately reccomend Thunder Road to anyone who likes Tamara Thorne or other great Horror Novelist.
	The Office - The Complete First And Second Series

The Office is the funniest thing I have seen in a while. It does take a little bit to get used to the lingo for all of us from the "States", but it is worth it. If you have ever worked in an office environment, you will get plenty of laughs from this show. The boss, David did get a little old by the end of the second season, but that was really the only complaint I had. I was impressed, and will definately be looking at other BBC shows in the future. I hear they are looking at making a US version, that would be awesome!
	Alias Declassified: The Official Companion

I am a huge Alias fan. I found this book to be a great addition to my Alias collection. The book is very interesting with details about the characters, actors, design sets, and just about everything. I was interested in how some of the actors and actresses have kind of created their own characters behind the "script". It was a very fun and exciting read. I would reccomend this to anyone who is a fan of alias. You will not be disappointed as this book is entertaining AND informative, which is quite hard to find these days. If you enjoy Alias, you will love this book.
	Stop Panic
	"Unique approach to Panic Attacks"	2003-05-17
Dr. Guller uses a unique approach to stopping panic attacks. Although the book was not very useful to me because his approach wasn't at the root of my problem, it was a very interesting read, and provided some insight into other caused of panic attacks. If you have no idea why you started having panic attacks, I reccomend you buy this book and read it cover to cover. Stop Panic may help you uncover the reason for your panic, and ultimately assist you in stopping them.
	Halo - Xbox

Halo demonstrates an exemplary combination of game play, graphics, and sound. The game offers ltos of gameplay, and also offers replay. The fun part is trying to tackle it from different angles ever time! You will not be disappointed with this game!
