 | Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8K 7.2MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black) |
 | "Fantastic, easy to use camera" | 2007-06-10 |
I have been a big fan of panasonic cameras for quite a few years. You get all the bells and whistles of the more expensive brands without paying for the name on the camera body. I take mostly bird pictures and the FZ8K allows me to switch the digital zoom on and off to get the best shots. It is also great for still life photography. I plan on getting some lens attachments to add even more versatility!

 | Taimashin Volume 1 |
 | "Campy horror fun (though they could have left out the tentacles)" | 2005-08-17 |
I admit I bought this manga for the pretty man on the cover. I was kind of hoping for a yaoi horror manga. Well it isn't or is it? The main character is VERY pretty and he is propositioned by men, women, and demons in the course of one volume. The art work wavers from gorgeous to sloppy which will hopefully even out in the next volume. The story has a few holes but the back and forth between Taima and one of the other "needle experts" gives me hope for the future volumes. I wouldn't pay full price for it, but if you can get it discounted or used it's a fun way to kill time.

 | Shelby Marlo's New Art of Dog Training |
 | "great for beginners" | 2001-09-25 |
This book starts by telling you how to pick your dog. It is better for people who don't have a dog yet because the book assumes you will be starting "from scratch" so to speak.

 | Travels in West Africa by Mary H. Kingsley, ISBN 0486424901 |
 | "not enough adventure" | 2001-09-25 |
I bought this book because it was supposed to be one of the 100 greatest adventure books of all time. While it does have narrow escapes and Mary Kingsley was very brave, there is too much discussion of "the African mind". I found the constant reference to the superiority of the European colonists very offputting. Of course it was written in the 1890's!
