NINTENDO Super Mario 64 DS ( Nintendo DS )NINTENDO Super Mario 64 DS ( Nintendo DS )
Rated 5 Stars"Brings back fond memories" 2007-12-13
My brother bought the original Super Mario 64 for the N64 nearly ten years ago and the both of us played the heck out of it. It' one of the best platform games out there, including both 2D and 3D. As for this port, for the most part it's a faithful translation of the original while at the same time expanding it. Not only do we have the original game here, but Nintendo decided to expand it by adding thirty more stars for gamers to collect (150 over the original 120). Also, there is more secret levels in the game and now you can play not only as Mario, but as Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi. Finally, there is now including many mini-games using the touchscreen which are highly addictive. Graphic wise, its better than the original. Control wise on the other hand isn't quite as good as the original. The thing isn't so much the game's fault as it is the lack of an analogue stick on the DS. For the most part it isn't too bad, but can be somewhat frustrating, especially in the boss battles. Also, you now have to press a button to run, unlike the original where you automatically ran as gained speed using the analogue stick. These are just small complaints and shouldn't stop gamers to pick this excellent game up, rather they never played the original or are veterans.

Rated 4 Stars"Overrated but good nonetheless" 2007-03-15
Well, I'm going to keep this short; I don't see any reason of boring you. I had high expectations for this book. I heard that it was one the best vampire books ever written, that it was scary, and so on and so forth. Anyway, this isn't scary at all, nor was it meant to be. Instead, this is a sympathetic view of vampires and shows how they live their lives. I have no problem with this, and applaud Rice for doing something original. I love the detail she puts into the scenery and makes the New Orleans of the past come to life with ease. Also, the character development of Louis is great, and the detail in other character (though coming from Louis's view point) is good. Unfortunately, the story suffers from Louis's narrative. He complains too much, continually debates if God and Devil are real or not, complains that he always wants to die but then admits every time he doesn't have the guts to do it. Really, if I wanted to listen to whining and complaining, I would listen to emo. Fortunately, this is a relatively short story; only about three-hundred and fifty pages or so. Another thing I like about this book is that it is a fast read. One could be done with it within a day to five days (just depends on how fast you read). All in all, this is a pretty good story. Not perfect, but definitely worth its price.

Rated 5 Stars"Great Cd" 2007-03-15
Alright, let's get this out of the way: I know CoF used to play harder and even faster then what they do now. Even though this is my first CoF cd, I still want their older stuff. I'm not a mallcore kid, emokid, goth, etc. Just a guy who loves various sorts of music. This includes black metal and gothic metal. Which is just what this is; a combination symphonic black metal and gothic metal. Or to others, vampyric metal. It's not the most extreme or raw black metal out there, if you want that, check out Mayhem, Bathory, etc. But just because it contains gothic metal, don't except it to sound like H.I.M. (poo), Evanescence (poo again), or Lacuna Coil. Is it hard? Yes. It is symphonic? Yes. It's a whole lot harder than what a lot of mallcore kids are listening to. It might just get them to listen to some of Cof's earlier stuff, or even to different black metal bands. As for the music itself, it's great. Each song flows into each other perfectly and does a good job showcasing CoF's sound. I also like Dani's vocals. Some hate him, but I don't. I've listened to far worse, like the guy from Shadows Fall. Anyway, I've read that Dani isn't as vicious on here as on other albums. That may be true, but doesn't mean he is a wuss either. He still does the black rasping, some death growls, and this weird black whispering. Also Liv's performance on the title track is good. As for this second disc in this collection, we get a Cliff Richard's cover, "Devil Woman". It's actually pretty good considering it's an odd selection. King Diamond does backing vocals on this one. Next we get a b-side from Nymphetamine, "Soft White Throat". Overall a good song, but nothing spectacular. The next song is a Bathory cover, "Bestial Lust (Bitch)". I haven't listened to the original, so I can't compare the two, but this is pretty good and showcases some of Dani's more extreme vocals. The next song is another b-side, "Prey". Like "Soft White Throat", good, but nothing spectacular. Then there is another version of "Nymphetamine"; however, Liv's singing is replaced with Sarah Jezebel's singing. In fact, I love this one better than the original and think that Sarah has a better singing voice than Liv. Though Liv's is nowhere near bad. Finally we have a cover of Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowely". I think this song is the best of three cover songs on here, and actually does justice to the original. Of course some of you will disagree with me, but it's my opinion. A great set from start to finish and has become one of my favorite albums. I highly recommend this to those who like black metal, symphonic black metal, gothic metal, and vampyric metal. Or those who are trying to get into afore said genres.

Rated 5 Stars"Even better than I was hoping" 2007-03-13
Well, I think "It" must be my sixth Stephen King book I've read. This is the one I've always wanted to read since I saw the mini-series on TV years ago. I'm not a big fan of the series, though I did like the first part but felt like the other part just didn't go smoothly and could have done better. But back to the book. Not only is this ties with The Stand with as my favorite King books, it's also the scariest; and that's one of things I love about this book. Another is the excellent character development. This is the best I've seen so far and must have been hard to do considering that there is a large ensemble cast. I aslo love the pacing of the story and how the events take place. You have six parts: the prologue, then four other parts that alternate with the main characters' childhood then with their adulthood forty years later. Also, this is book is the goriest of his that I've read so far. Now I've seen gorier movies than this book, but it still got to me and actually added to the scariness of the story which is something gore hardly does at all. Even though this is an excellent story, it does have a few drawbacks. One is the ending. For the most part it's great and surpasses the miniseries by a long shot and has a definite Lovecraftian feel to it. Unfortunately, some of it doesn't seem to have thought out completely and doesn't fit well for some strange reason. Also, I don't like the last sex scene. Personally, I can careless for sex in my books and know that King uses a lot of it in many of his books. But I felt that King went a little too far with this one. Other than those two things, this book is a masterpiece. I highly recommend this for those who are getting into King or want a excellent scary story with depth.

Rated 5 Stars"Awesome Industrial Metal" 2006-07-20
I really can't say that I'm a big fan of industrial metal, but I can say that Rammstein isn't a band to pass up. Having heard Sehnsucht before this, I was a little sceptical. Sehnsucht was a okay album but it really didn't impress me much. This on the other hand did. From the first track to the last, I was in awe. It basically blew their next album (Sehnsucht) out of the water. I love the mix of some techno, industrial, and metal. Every song sounds different from thefirst to the last, which is somewhat a rarity for me. I also love the lead vocalist's singing. It's very operatic. Every song is good, though I have to say Seamann is the best. I had never heard of a industrial ballet before this and thought it sounded ridiculas when my friend told me about it. Then I listened to it. I can describe it in one word: beautiful. This is just an awesome cd.

Dune MessiahDune Messiah
Rated 5 Stars"Excellent Sequel" 2006-07-14
This isn't a rehash of of the first book, Dune. Instead this is somewhat a prologue to Children Of Dune, the third book in the series. Even though this doesn't contain some of the key characters from the first book, such as Lady Jessica and Gurny Halleck, I'm not to sure why people really don't like this book. My cousin doesn't like it because he said that the aurthur took away Paul's power. Of course he didn't though. Also, if you thought that the first book was steeped in political intrigue, this one takes it to the next level. I'm not going to give the story away so you will have to read for yourself. Really a good read that leads up to the even better Children of Dune. If you're looking to continue with the series, ignore the negative reviews and get this today.

Rated 5 Stars"Sick, Sick Release" 2006-07-14
I have never listened to Rust In Peace. Or Peace Sells But Who's Buying. Or even So Far, So Good, So What. In fact, I have never listened or owned any Megadeth albums except for this one. But after listening to this masterpiece, I have definitely got to get their early stuff. I have had this cd for about a year and a half now and I still enjoy it every time I listen to it. All the songs are excellent. I love the shredding, the solos, the speed, the drumming, heck, I love everything! My personal favorites are Kick The Chair, Shadow Of Deth, Back In The Day, Blackmail The Universe and, oh, about the rest of the tracks. This is Megdeth's comeback album and shows that thrash is still alive and well. Just sick stuff all around really. This is for fans of old Megadeth, thrash, and those who were dissapointed in Metallica's St. Anger or those who hated it. Enjoy.

Linkin Park - Hybrid TheoryLinkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Rated 4 Stars"Overated and Overplayed But Not Half Bad" 2006-07-14
I really like this album. Most of the songs are good. There is only one or two that I don't like. In the End, Cure For The Itch, With You, Paper Cut, Crawling, Runaway, and others are my favorites. I think track two is the only one I don't like. I also don't like the fact that thais is a short cd. Just over thirty-eight minutes I think. Also, some of the songs do sound similar to one another but it's nowhere near as bad as Meteora. One last thing, Linkin Park is considered a metal band. That's not so. They aren't heavy enough to be considered as metal. Instead, along with other bands such as Pillar, P.O.D., early Project 86, and one of the crappiest bands of all time, Limp Bizcit, this is what you call rapcore. Now you know.

Rated 3 Stars"Almost Like A greatest Hits Album!" 2006-07-03
I use to like this band. That was before I got into metal. I don't really listen to any rapcore anymore but LP did have some good songs. In fact, this live album has most of their best songs on it, it's just missing one or two I think. If you want to get the best of Linkin Park, then this set is for you.

Rick Wakeman - Myths & Legends Of King Arthur & The Knights Of The Round TableRick Wakeman - Myths & Legends Of King Arthur & The Knights Of The Round Table
Rated 5 Stars"A Legendary Progressive Rock Album" 2006-06-29
Believe it or not, it was my mom that introduced me to this album. She told me that when she was about my age she had it on tape and loved it. Since then I wanted it and I have finally got it. I really don't think to many people have heard of Rick Wakeman's solo projects. I'm sure they know him from Yes and the album he did with Black Sabbath but not of his own works, I could be wrong though. From what I've gathered, this is his third album the first being The six Wives Of Henry VIII and the second Journey To The Center Of The Earth. If this album is any indacation of how good his solo works are, I need to pick those other two up. On to the music. The story is about Arthur and his companions and their many exploits and I think he loosly based this album on Thomas Mallory's Le Morte D'Arthur in particular. This album shows that Wakeman is a master (if not the master) of the synthisizer and keyboard. Each song is distinct from the previous which is good in my book. And while there isn't a whole lot of singing, the songs themselves do a good job of telling the story and characters. I just love the different arrangements that go with the different characters, especially Merlin and Guinevere. Plus Rick is accompinied by an orchrastra and The English Chamber Choir which is totaly cool. I've read some reviews saying that some of the singing isn't that great but I have to disagree. While it's not the best singing I've ever heard it's still pretty good. The use of jazz and fusion jazz is also good and in my opinion really helps this already excellent album out. If I have any complaints it is that this album is too short and that it comes with no lyrics. For the first, it doesn't really matter because even though it is over forty-two minutes, I've got other cds that are good but are shorter. And as for the lyrics, I'll get over it because there isn't a whole lot of singing and what singing that is there is pretty much understandable. Definitely an excellent album that shouldn't be passed up.

Various Artists - This Is Solid State Vol. 3Various Artists - This Is Solid State Vol. 3
Rated 5 Stars"Another Excellent Sampler From Solid State" 2006-06-11
This sampler came out when Solid State was at it's peak but on the verge on declining. It's another good mix of different metalcore bands (which more than half are/were actually good), some death metal, a little hardcore, some emo and emocore. Some of the bands on here no longer exist, unfortunitly. That doesn't realy matter now but this is a good mix from some of those bands. I know that a lot of people realy doen't like Solid State because they sold out to emocore and talentless bands but this sampler is still good (this is right before SS sold out). Anycase, this is a lot better than This Is Solid State Vol. 4.

Pink Floyd - Echoes: The Best of Pink FloydPink Floyd - Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd
Rated 5 Stars"Awsome Greatest Hits Package" 2006-06-10
Before this, Floyd had no real greatest hits album. Instead, they had three different compilations: Relics, Works, and some other one that I forgot the name of. Oh well. But this a fine set of songs here my friend. This also is the second most expensive album I have bought, the first being The Wall. Doesn't matter though, it was money well worth spent. Moving on. This has all their hits on it (well, most of them I guess). It also has some songs form their pre-Dark Side Of The Moon days too, including the title track. In fact, from what I heard, they took about seven minutes from that song for space for the other songs; at over sixteen minutes, it's still a solid track in my opinion. They also edited other songs for length and to make both discs sound like a real album. Most of the songs kinda flow into one another. I love the art and photos also as I always do, Storm always does a good job. My only complaint is why they didn't include tracks form More, Obscured By Clouds, Atom Heart Mother, and Ummagumma. It's too bad, because I would have loved to hear what they would have picked from those albums. Other than that, this is a great compiliation set and I recommend it for those who are long time fans or beginners of the band. You won't regret it.

Lacuna Coil - ComaliesLacuna Coil - Comalies
Rated 5 Stars"4.5 Stars, Very Good Release" 2006-06-10
This is a pretty good release for the most part. The music is all good and I like Cristina's vocals a lot. I also don't really mind the male vocalist singing (if that is what you want to call it) either. It's not perfect or falseto but it's not bad or even terrible like the lead singer from Shadows Fall. I personally like Unleashed Memories a little better, but this is pretty solid too. Great goth metal in opinion. Are they overated? Yes. But they are also good too, which is something rare I guess. I also don't think they sound like Evenescence either. The only similarites is the female vocals though Lacuna's are a whole lot better than Amy Lee's any day. But that is where the similarities end, Lacun being Goth Metal and Evenescence being Goth Rock. This cd on a whole seems to me a little darker than their previous efforts and their latest release also. That doesn't bother me at all because this is goth metal we're talking about. A good buy, no doubt.

Norma Jean - Bless the Martyr and Kiss the ChildNorma Jean - Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child
Rated 5 Stars"Nearly An Hour Of Chaoscore Brutality" 2006-06-09
What's up with the reviewers saying that this emo, emocore, and hardcore? It's definitely not emo or emocore. Bless the Matyr and Kiss the Child is a mixture of hardcore and metal that does not follow any traditional patern of melody, harmony, or rhythm. Heck, it doesn't even have melody, or not much to be considered melody. How someone can conclude that this is just emo or plain simple hardcore for the matter is beyond me. Norma Jean was one of the first metal bands that I got into a couple years ago even though I didn't pick up this particular album until a few months later. At the time I didn't know a whole lot about metal, but now that I'm actually getting around to review this, it reminds me of some of its mathcore brethern, such as The Dillenger Escape Plan and Between the Buried and Me, which are both excellent bands you should check out. While this is nowhere as technical as thos two bands, it does sound somewhat similar to them (and from what I've heard of O God, the Aftermath, NJ sounds a little bit more like mathcore). Anyway, this is a very good cd, and even though it's totaly chaotic, it's strangely beautiful at the same time. Weird, but good. I also like the lyrics and song titles, they're smart and meaningful. A very good buy and not for people who think if it doesn't have melody or doesn't sound like the top forty whatever it's not good. Just remember, they are just a bunch of posers that just sway in the wind of what Mtv and Vh1 blows at them.

Pink Floyd - The Wall (Deluxe Packaging Digitally Remastered)Pink Floyd - The Wall (Deluxe Packaging Digitally Remastered)
Rated 5 Stars"A Solid Concept Album From the Legends Of Prog Rock." 2006-06-07
Wow. This is my second Pink Floyd album and probably one of my favorite albums of all time. This, according to most critics and "fans" (those who thought the band's last two cds suck from lack of Roger Waters), is their last great acheivement. I on the other hand dissagree, but that's for another review. I think this one of Floyd's best, no doubt, and probaly their best concept album too, but I'm not as far as to say that Pink Floyd = Roger Waters. Sure, he had basically wrote all the lyrics and most of the music for this album, heck, the story is basically about Roger's life but changed into fiction. But let's remember that Roger is only one member of the band; Gilmour does an excellent job on the guitar and pulls off some of the bands best solos here; Wright and Mason also do an excellent job on keys/synth and drums respectively. Antway, even though Waters is a well crafted muscician, he is definitely overated. Movin on. I love the work that the band poured into this album, it's just amazing. There is not one bad track here at all. Each song goes into the next with ease. Also, this cd along with their previous album Animals and the next one after this one, The Final Cut, are their darkest albums both lyrical and in mood. At least it has somewhat of an happy ending, I guess. Waters is definitely one the best story tellers in music. There was also two tracks that didn't make it to the album at the last minute. Can't remember their names but they are on Is Anybody Out There? The Wall Live disc if you want to check them out. This cd along with dark Side Of The Moon contains some of their biggest hits, such as Another Brick In the Wall Part two, Comfortably Numb, and Mother just to name a few. If you are just getting into Floyd or love progressive rock, then pick this one up. Trust me.

Soul Embraced - ImmuneSoul Embraced - Immune
Rated 4 Stars"A good cd. 3 1/2 stars" 2006-06-03
Boy, I've had this cd for a while now. Can't believe that I haven't reiewed it yet. Here goes. Immune was my fourth metal disc and I have had it two years now. I don't have their previous albums, so I can't make any comparisons here. But from what I heard, their fist cd is death metal and their second cd is death metal with some hardcore in it. On the other hand, this disc is basicaly gothenburg metal mixed with hardcore and a little nu-metal. It's not a bad release but definitely could have been better. It's very melodic throughout and the lyrics are somewhat dark. My only real complaints is that it is too short, 38 min., and the music starts to sound the same, and thar I wish that they were a little harder and kept a little more death metal in their sound. Too bad it was their last cd, Lance, rocky, and Chad make a great team.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were HerePink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Rated 5 Stars"An excellent release under the shadow of Moon" 2006-05-25
I think that Wish You Were Here is possibly a better album than the Dark Side of the Moon. Don't get me wrong, I love D.S.O.T.M., it's just that this cd has more of a better feel to me. I like the fact that this is a concept album and that the "story" (if that's what you want to call it) is a tribute to the former member Sid Barret. This is also the last Floyd album that has light atmosphere and theme for a while. What do I mean by this? The next three albums are all pretty dark with lyrics and theme. As for the music, it's all good. Not one bad song. If you get this after D.S.O.T.M. and expect the same sound on this album, then you will be dissapointed. The use of synthisizers are more prodominate here and the songs are way longer. Even though there are only five songs on here and might be mistaken for an ep, this cd is actually at least three minutes longer than the previous album, D.S.O.T.M. The longest is Shine on you crazy Diamond part one which is about 13 minutes and Shine On You Crazy Diamond part two which is about 12 minutes long. All good stuff. I hope this review helps but their are more reviews down below that are longer and bettered detailed.

Extol - UndeceivedExtol - Undeceived
Rated 5 Stars"Ahhhhh... Good ol' Extol" 2006-05-24
Many claim this to be Extol's best release and I agree with that but also many think that their next two releases, Synergy and Blue Print Dives, suck. I totally disagree. Moving on. I've heard this called black metal but that is hardly true. Instead, this is progressive/technical death metal with a little doom and black metal mixed in. This was also my first Extol cd and is not only one of my favorite metal albums but also one of my favorite cds of any music genre. I love everything about this cd: the different vocals, the violins, cellos, and other musical instruments used, and the lyrics. I recommend this to those who love Opeth, Death, Atheist, Cynic, Pestilence, and this type of death metal and death metal period.

Zao - Liberate Te Ex InferisZao - Liberate Te Ex Inferis
Rated 5 Stars"A cd of magnificent force." 2006-05-23
Man is this disc so good for the ears. I got this last year and haven't regretted getting it yet. Zao has crafted a masterpiece that is dark, brutal, and yet, beautiful. One thing I like about this cd is the lyrics. Dan is definitely one of the best lyric writers in metal today. Even though the lyrics have not much to do with the story, the give the music itself an even darker feal. I don't think this cd would be as good if the it didn't have these lyrics. The story though, is a modern version of the first five circles of hell from Dante's Divine Comedy. I also lve the music on this disk a lot. It's a mix of the dark atmosphere and music of Neurosis and then emerging metalcore. It also contains audio clips from the movie Event Horizon. If there is one complaint about this album that I have, it's the fact that it is only forty-two minutes. Oh well. It's still an excellent disc and a good buy. You won't regret it.

Unearth - The Oncoming StormUnearth - The Oncoming Storm
Rated 5 Stars"Solid Release (4 1/2 Stars)" 2006-05-16
Yeah I know that this is not the most original outfit out there, but I really care less. Anyway this cd for the most part is pretty sick. I do find this particular style of metalcore totally overated but there are a few groups in it that pretty tight, including this band. Unearth combines melodic metal with hardcore, very original. Anywho, they do a good job with it and definitely met my expectations with this cd. All the songs are good, but in my opinion 2,3,5,6,7,8,and 10 are the best. I think there is something that is missing, though I can't put my finger on it. Not much for me left say but do yourself afavour and check these guys out.

In Flames - WhoracleIn Flames - Whoracle
Rated 5 Stars"Another In Flames Classic" 2006-05-04
There is not much difference between this and their preious cd and ep, Jester Race and Black Ash Inheritance. In fact, they redo Gyroscope wich was originally from the BAI ep. My friend said he reall did not like this cd because he thought it sounded like goth metal or something. I'm not to sure why he said that but I have to disagree. It is basically the same gothenburg style they started with in Lunar Strain. Of course, if you have listened to their newe stuff already, you can hear some changes that start in this cd that wind up becoming what they sound like now. It is mostely the keyboard I think. It's not very prodominent(?) but it is there. All in all, this is a worthy addition to yur collection and hesitate to get it right away. Also, they cover Depeche Mode's Everthing Counts which sounds totaly sick.

In Flames - ClaymanIn Flames - Clayman
Rated 5 Stars"One of their best." 2006-05-04
Wheelchair Assassin and Lord Chimp are right about this cd. I'm not to sure why people don't like this cd. It's good that they do something a little different you know. I have to admit, when I first listened to this cd, I really didn't like it either. Maybe I was expecting guitar solos ala Iron Maiden or something, I can't remember. But the more I listened to this cd, the more I liked it. Every song on here is excellent, though I think 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 12 are totally beyond sick. If you can't headbang or thrash out to this disk, then you need to check your head or something and make sure it still works. This cd is my second favorite by this band only, and only extremely, slightly below their first two Lunar Strain and Jester Race which tie at first. This is a worthy addition to your In Flames collection and metal library.

In Flames - ColonyIn Flames - Colony
Rated 5 Stars"Another good disk from the masters of Gothenburg" 2006-05-04
Colony for the most part still sounds like its predicessors. But on this cd you can definitely hear the changes they have in here which they will start sounding like. This cd, especially the overly sick Clayman which is to follow this release, set the stage for their next three cds that foolow Clayman: Reroute to Remain, Soundtrack to Your Escape, and Come Clarity. For the most part, this a good cd that continues with the traditional gothenburg sound they started with in Lunar Strain. This is a worthy editon to your In Flames collection, my freinds, and also to your metal libray. I also like the cover art for this album as I do for the Jester Race/Black Ash Inheritance and Whoracle.

In Flames - Jester Race/Black-Ash InheritanceIn Flames - Jester Race/Black-Ash Inheritance
Rated 5 Stars"The next great In Flames classic epic...." 2006-05-03
This is even better than Lunar Strain! In Flames is continuing and improving the gothenburg metal style they started with their previous album, Lunar Strain. Gothenburg or melodic death metal as it is also called, hails from Gothenburg, Sweden. It's a combination of death metal, such as Death, Obituary, etc. and heavy metal, such as Iron Maiden, Manowar, etc. This cd combines the excellent Jester Race with their also excellent ep Black Ash Inheritance. I'm sure you could find these sold seperately but from what I have heard it is hard to find them seperate. So instead, just buy this one (unless you're a completist). I recommend this sick disk to anyone who loves In Flames, this style of music, metal, or just good music. Get this one today!

Still Breathing - SeptemberStill Breathing - September
Rated 3 Stars"Not to bad, but not as great when I first bought it." 2006-03-28
I bought this cd because at the time I had just started to get into heavy metal and the other reason is because the lead vocalist was a woman. I still like the fact that it is a woman screaming and all but the music now seems to me just plain average. After a while, all the songs start to sound the same and the drumming isn't that great either, though I've heard that the drummer is pretty good but whoever recorded it did a bad job on it. There are a few good songs on here, especially song eight. I love the lyrics and the music on that song rises above the rest of the cd. So before you think about buying this one, check out some soundclips or mp3s.

This was my first Zao cd and at the time I could not compare it to any of their other cds. Now that I got Liberate, I think I can make some rough comparisons. First off, this cd doesn't have the neurosis atmosphere as Liberate did, but that is fine for me. Even though, it does have some excellent lyrics which are some of the best I've ever read from a metal cd, including even Christian metal. Dan is deffinitly one of the best lyrics writers out there today. As for the music, it is all good. Even though this does have some hardcore in it, it is not really prodominent(?). Instead, the death metal is what you mostly hear and that is good in my book. I really can't find one bad song in here because they are all good. Sick guitar, sick drumming, sick vocals, sick lyrics = sick music. This is a whole lot better and heavier than any slipknot stuff anyday. Also, do yourself a favour and go get The Lesser Lights Of Heaven dvd. You will not regret it.

I originally wrote a review for this cd sometime ago but deleted it. I had said that this was my first death metal cd in a long time but I am going to wait and say that for the Cynic cd I'm going to get at the end of the week. Anyway, this is a combination of death metal like Death but mixed with melodic guitar playing similar to Iron Maiden. This is a good package here and has some sick songs on it especially Everlost part 1 and part 2. This style of death metal is usually called melodic death metal or Gothenburg metal. Gothenburg is the city in Sweden where this style supposedly originated from. This is a well done cd and I suggest to those who like good metal, In Flames, brutal metal mixed with melody, or good music to go pick this one up.

But I really don't need too; this is a whole lot better. In my earlier review of this cd as Neo-X Death, I said that this is awsome and stuff, and it still is. I still can't beleive I only spent just over 7 dollars on this cd!It was worth every penny and much more. Now that I look back on it, I think these guys were more of a secular band than a christian one. The lyrics aren't bad or anything, it's just that they're not really christian either, except one or two songs. As for the music, it's pretty killer. I love the classical music pieces these guys put in there: the hapsichorde(?), the opera singer in one song, and the sick piano solo in song eight. This is really a great disk, and I recommend it to anyone who loves black metal or good music.
