| Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone Sport Headphones | ||
![]() | "Still a real "Best Buy"" | 2009-06-22 |
| I have both the original KSC-35 and the KSC-75. Both have similar sound, using the same titanium driver as the PortaPro; however I feel the KSC-35 has a more natural sound. It has better bass and cleaner highs. I have heard some people say they find the KSC-35 uncomfortable and the KSC-75 comfortable. I find exactly the opposite, which I why I gave them a lower rating. I have smaller ears that lie closer to my head and the rubber coated clips on the KSC-75 separate my ear from my head too far. The longer I wear them the more pain I feel. An hour or so causes a few couple of discomfort to my ears. Because the KSC-35 has a narrower clip, I find them effortless to wear. However there is a seam that runs along the edge of the clip that can be sharp but after a few passes with a nail file they are completely smooth. If you want great sound in a cheap package, Koss has your answer. These are great pocket headphones that won't irritate your ears or your wallet. If you don't like clip-ons, then I recommend the PortaPro. They are the best headphone bang for the buck, period. I've had mine for 25 years and love them more today than ever. Either way, you won't go wrong, just remember to ask your ears how they feel about it too. | ||
| Koss PortaPro Traditional Collapsible DJ Headphones with Carry Case | ||
![]() | "Best headphone for the price for over 20 years!!" | 2007-04-16 |
| I am surpised at the negative comments about the PortaPro. First of all, you will be very hard pressed to find any other headphone in this price range that has better sound. Period. The closest are the Sennheiser PX100 but in comparison, even they lack clarity and comfort. The PortaPro are the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. The only "minor" complaint are the rare times that, in my haste to remove them, I catch and yank a hair or two. I can, and have, worn these for hours with no discomfort. They are so comfortable that I have fallen asleep with them on. I have never once had any problem with them except for having to replace the foam ear cushions due to wear and age, but which are very inexpensive to replace. I easily fit them into their carry bag to tote anywhere. In the 80's the PortaPro was the hot new look, and as far as I am concerned, still look great in comparison to some others, including awfully expensive cans such as the K1000.
For all the negatives I have read here I say, "Bah!". I have had my PortaPro for over twenty-two years and they are still going strong. Some of my reasons for purchasing the Portas way back then were their exceptional sound (still one of the highest rated headphones!), portability and screw-on 1/4" adapter. Traveling from location to location for listening and recording, it was all too easy to loose adapters. I only recently misplaced my adapter, but Koss has already put one in the mail to me, free of charge. That goes to show how Koss feels about their cutomers and another reason I will keep using and buying their products. If you want really good sound, that won't empty your wallet, will hold up on the go and you don't have to squeeze into your ear (ugh!), then look no further than the PortaPro. | ||
| Queen - Innuendo | ||
![]() | "If I could only choose one album to own..." | 2007-02-20 |
| I have enjoyed all Queen's music, but Innuendo is the epitome of a journey immensely talented artists travel. Nothing lost, only gained. No matter where Queen was emotionally, I for one believe there is no better culmination than Innuendo. [Sorry Douglas, Bon Jovi is just not Mercury caliber.] No other group, or album, achieves the "unboundedness" as Innuendo. Freddy and Queen will live forever, through the music. I could not imagine a more fitting finale to the greatest show on earth. Freddy, this one touched the stars, and I hope you did too. | ||
| Underworld | ||
![]() | "Moving into the dark..." | 2006-01-14 |
| Without breaking down the album track-by-track, Underworld ranges from fast, nails-on-chalkboard hyper-intensity to slow, dark, brooding melodies that taunt your emoitions from one end of the spectrum to the other. An intense collaboration that establishes the atmosphere of the movie with smooth transitions from murky, infused industrial to moodier goth gloom. Underworld's sound hangs you on the edge of either rage or arousal, or both. As a whole, Underworld is truly a perfect dark marriage of sight and sound. A must for gothers and anyone who thrives when moods and the environment merge. | ||
| Lesiem - Auracle | ||
![]() | "Lesiem Auracle" | 2004-12-14 |
| The magic expands with the third Lesiem release. Heavenly female vocals woven with deep Gregorian chants and the familiar mystical grove. Auracle carries the listener further on the mystical journey through legends, myths and fabled lands. A magnificent blending of voices and world textures to inspire any spirit. "Life is a journey we all must travel... it's the roads we take and the people we meet on the way that make all the difference." ~Anonymous | ||
