| The Option Trader Handbook : Strategies and Trade Adjustments (Wiley Trading) | ||
![]() | "Good-to-Great Option trading book " | 2008-12-03 |
| Bottom line: If you want to trade options, or are already trading options and you are not an expert, buy this book, and read it carefully. I have looked at lots of option trading books, and bough and read a few, not to mention looking at MANY websites and even taking a personalized Option trading course. This is, beyond doubt, one of the best and most useful I've seen. Aside from the usual basic information which is a must-have in a book aimed at non-experts, which is done an a good, efficient manner, this book really shines in covering positions adjustments and discussing their plus and minus implications. Where "adjustments" are follow-on-trades to be done after you open a position, and then the stock behaves as expected, or behaves opposite to as expected. In this respect, this book is almost alone in explaining what to do, and the implications of the action. My one quibble is that a lot of the worked-examples are done in text, mostly, where a table-form or flow-chart presentation would be better, I think. That said, I HIGHLY recommend this book | ||

| I have debated if to buy the 70W model, which is (a little) cheaper, wnd would have been enough for my Sub-Notebook (Thinkpad X20). I got the 120W due to ingrained pessimisim and wish for safety margin and futire ready - and price delta is not too great. The device does exactly what it claims to do - powers your notebook and whatever else you get a "smart tip" for, and it is thin and relatively light. In case you wonder how it "knows" how much power to supply and what exactly is "smart" about the smart-tips, It seesm that really there are 3 ranges, with each "smart tip color-coded to which of the three ranges it will pass. (Not sure of technicalities, but it could be as as simple as 2 levels of resistors bringing down the supplied power by simply turning the excess into heat ... So - why not 5 stars? 1. As all users I have to say the VERY short cord from unit to power outlet is annoying, and despite the explanations on the maker's site, I am not convinced this is needed. I suspect 2. The pouch it comes in is very flimsy, and seems much too cheaply made. In mine, the zipprr failed in the first week I got it. for $100+ I'd expect more 3. The "smart-tips" you get are many and varied (and the Included Ipod one is VERY welcome) but everyone seems to have to buy at least one more - and they are quite expensive for no apparent reason. I'd really expect the maker to supply tips for free for the $100 base price (or for S&H only) | ||
