Rated 2 Stars"Worked for 12 months" 2009-10-04
The 670 was a decent remote for me while it worked but it died after 12 months of gentle treatment. It will not power on, either with fresh batteries or via USB. Reliability: F

I agree with other reviews that the layout could be improved but in general the 670 remote is a good compromise between ease of use and capability - it's not overcomplicated like others out there.

The programmablity could be improved - I never was able to get the remote to do the double-off keystroke my projector requires to turn it off.

I've used the headphones heavily for 4 months now - I travel by plane a lot and work in a noisy environment - the headphones are great for both.

I originally looked for noise reducing phones but found that the decent ones are very pricey, don't have great sound quality and comfort (the degree to which headphones reduce noise is largely determined on how tight the phones fit).

I chose these as the best balance between sound quality, price, and noise reduction (fully covers ears). I couldn't be happier with them. They muffle out background noises effectively on the plane, allowing me to get lost in an audiobook or tune. I often fall asleep with them on while traveling so I can vouch for their comfort.

In the office they help me prevent distractions - ambiance audio works especially great to help keep me focused. My ipod has no problem delivering plenty of volume through them. I often wear them 4+ hrs. a day. At times my ears get a bit warm but I think that's a trait of all ear-covering phones.

They fold into themselves into a lump which fits into an included storage bag and fits well in my travel bag. Sound quality is excellent - my untrained ears can really hear differences in recording fidelity.

I have a big problem finding books that hold my interest - I finish about 1 out of 5 of them, but I indeed finished High Fidelity and found myself shirking what I should be doing in order to read.

High Fidelity is largely focused on the thoughts, feelings and remembrances of a Londoner in his mid-thirties who's been stuck for years at the same stage of life where everything revolves around music and relationships. The book was released in the mid-90's but really feels like early-mid-80's to me, smack dab in the vinyl/cassette era. I really identified, as I remember holding the same values, fears, and conflict about adulthood as Rob. Maybe a guy thing, but I usually don't have the patience for long passages that take place solely in the head of a character, but I really enjoyed the style and method of expression in High Fidelity. I wish I could read it again for the first time.

I've used the Nokia 6131 phone for 2 months, it has a great feature set and I initially thought it'd be a good phone - beware of reviews posted after only a few days of use.

Battery life is abysmal. With bluetooth, etc. enabled, initially I was getting about 1.5 days of useful life. After 2 months, with bluetooth disabled and all power saving features set the phone won't last 24 hrs between charges.

The phone will not work with a dead battery even when plugged into the charger. You must wait until the battery has sufficient charge before the phone can be used. And charge time is slow - charging while driving 45 min daily did not get or keep the phone fully charged. You'll need to plug it in to the charger every night.

Unlike other phones this phone does not charge when connected via the USB cable. And the USB cable is proprietary - you cannot use a standard mini-USB.

The Nokia-proprietary stereo headset left earbud stopped working after 2 weeks. The radio and mp3 player do not support a bluetooth headset (mine is mono - not sure if a stereo bluetooth headset would work). So for me, no NPR or audiobook MP3s on the bluetooth headset.

The lid of the phone presses the "0" button when very little pressure is applied. Take it out of your pocket and you'll have to clear the "000000000"'s before dialing. Oh yeah - those 0's also took your phone out of its power-saving sleep mode and consumed valuable battery life while you were not using it.

The flip-button is neat but I handed my phone to a friend to call home, didn't tell him about the button and when he opened it without the button - crack, the cheap-o latch broke. It should have been designed to work ok for the button-uninitiated.

I've had great success with other Nokia phones but this one is a failure. I expect they'll get flip phones right at some point but I'll be using another brand until then.

Rated 5 Stars"Excellent!" 2004-02-15
This monitor is attractive and has a beautiful picture. I don't play fast action games so I can't vouch for its performance there. But my strategy games work great.

Re - the reviewer complaining about dead pixels - do not buy such an expensive item from a place where it can't be sent back.
