| This film would probably be out of print if it was not selected for the Criterion Edition treatment. They cleaned up the old print as usual and added a whole 'nother disk of extras. You need the commentary to try and understand what is happening in this slow moving and deep analysis of humanity, aliens, the future, bureaucracy and more! Don't look for special effects in this Russian language film constrained by money and the communist agenda. Look for great camera work and tough acting where emotions flow freely but are controlled and constrained. This movie will keep you talking for days. Billed as the Russian 2001 at the time, as the commentaries point out, they were trying to make the exact opposite actually. | ||

I got these improved ones from Amazon directly in Sept 2007. I think it should help a lot but these are not the pair to jerk or stress. I just use it at my desk so it should be OK. I like that at my desk, I can still hear if a phone rings or some one shouts if its not too loud. Some isolation earphones are so tight you can't hear a thing. These let some outside sound through. I think these are much more stylish than other models. And I am very happy with the sound. Just don't throw them in a pack filled with books and go hiking. | ||

| at that price its a Steal! I might have been upset if I paid $50. Yes the graphics are dated, but that means it should work with older video cards. The talking heads are spot on though. Backgrounds fuzzy. Linear gameplay mixed up with your choice of missions. Follows movie plot so a must if you love the movies to replay critical scenes with You on the scene. Movie scenes unlockables... I actually like the fighting system for a mouse but it plays with an XBOX 360 controller on the PC if you would prefer. Driving is tough but possible on the keyboard. Hey its just mindless fun and a bargain at the moment. Enjoy! | ||

Will the XBOX be able to download a fix for this please? ITs UNPLAYABLE at the moment. Terrible save system can bump you right back to the beginning after playing for HOURS! Another thing I noticed is that reviews that state the truth are rated bad, so I know the PAID pushers are at work here. | ||

| Because its Now made in China and no comparison to the older pans. Read all the reviews. There are a lot of review that just say I love it with little detail. Then when it mentions how thin it is or how easily food sticks to it or how hard it is to clean it gets not so many helpful reviews. I smell a click farm that is trying to get Customers to accept the cheap NEW made in China pans.. thin and flimsy. I don't care how much its % off. Once you see it you'll see you overpaid if you remember the old Calphalon Commercial grade pans made in the USA. | ||

| Van Der Graaf Generator's Present advertised as [ENHANCED] [IMPORT]on Amazon from EMI is copy protected, and I could not see any enhanced content but then looking at the disc in Windows Explorer is somehow disabled. I bought this 2CD set in the this summer when it was released and only played it on CD machines and not through my computer. Well out of curiosity because of all the press about Sony's CDs protected by rootkits I put one disc it in my computer. Up popped a message that you need to install something to play the CD. I instantly exited out of the Yes/NO install box and yanked the offending disc out of my computer. I did not even give the disc time to respond to the Yes/no box and it took a Win XP system rollback to return my DVD burner to functional condition. This disk is an Import from EMI and many people in Europe were having trouble playing these discs in their car player if you search on the web. The discs have black circular symbol with a black triangle and that means beware. Hey I bought ALL VDGG releases and was thinking of rebuying all the remasters. I now am having second thoughts. While I respect their rights, to inconvience a customer is just totally unacceptable. If I ever see another disc so marked....or mismarked like at Amazon I will return it unopened!! So be careful out there! | ||

| I have a Windows XP computer with iTunes and it rips fine into iTunes. This disc has a DVD side and a CD side both silver colored. If you have problems just flip the disc over..... One of the reasons I bought this disc was to try the new Dual Disc format. As stated on the back the disc is not compatable with all CDs and DVD players. The video does not work on Windows Media Player. Even Real Player caused noise to come out of the rear channels on the 5.1 video. Power DVD which is primarily DVD player software worked fine for the short Video. Sony must have used encryption to prevent copying the video portion. O yea SONY who also brought rootkits to our computers.... Other DVD software players may work also on your computer, but it works fine on stand alone players connected to a TV. The 5.1 Music mix worked fine on my computer using Media player and Real Player and you can see the lyrics on the screen. The only problem was with the short Video. I will buy more Dual Discs if the sound is fixed for the video content. For the price of a CD you get a regular CD version AND a 5.1 mix on the other side.....NICE. Well I could moan one of Springsteen's tales from this disc but I want to rock. Technically the 5.1 mix Rocks.... I don't really need another Tom Joad II CD but this is Bruce's country side and only the Boss can make me like country! | ||

You only get the USB charging cable. Remember too that not all USB ports have power on some computers. So if you ever want to travel or don't want to keep your iPOD charging on your desk all day or in an internet cafe, you need the AC adaptor that just plugs into the wall to charge. There may be ones that work that aren't appple brand I'm not sure...but you need one, trust me. | ||

| If you work in hazardous environments (or hazardous for delicate iPODS) and need tough protection this is your case. It is not for constant song changing (full velcro side protection except the top), but I tend to turn the iPOD on and leave it on all day wearing its belt sturdy case clip. You can see the songs through the plastic window. The window is too small for the new Video iPOD but works great for the Color 20 gig 4G iPOD. It should fit the other older iPODs with the same dimensions. Its leather too, except the sides and wears well even with bumping into things. Another important fact- the iPOD is secured with a suction cup leaving air space around the back and front of the iPOD. Good for keeping the hard drive cool if you play it for hours at a time. The space also allows the earphones to wrap around behind the iPOD leaving a nice total package that can be carried into a bag or purse. I have no scratches using this because the front of the case does not actually touch the front of the iPOD. The snug sides hold the front leather part in place above the window. | ||

| The Apple 20 GB iPod Photo MA079LL/A was originally $300 and since its now on sale at $250, I finally bought this model after looking at various mp3 players for a year. Now I'm a PC person and was originally afraid of compatability. I use the new iTunes 6. Apple seems to constantly update the program with new features (like improved Podcasts support) Old version is in the box on a disc, download the latest when you install your player. At first I thought hey I want to use Real Player or Window's Media player with my ipod. But I find it helpful to keep what's on your ipod and what's on your PC in separate programs because once the tunes are on your ipod you can erase them from your PC to save space. And iTunes 6 has many functions that customize your ipod player that just arent' available in other PC based mp3 players. Then you can set it up to automatically rip CDs as soon as you put it in the drive. The ACC encoding available in iTunes and Real player sounds better with smaller files than WMAs. I consider myself a golden ear and while no player will match a Home Theater/ Audiophile experience, I found it difficult to distinguish WAV files from the Apple codecs ACC and apple lossless using the included Ear Buds. Using my $100 earphones did sound better than the earbuds but I can't be isolated at work. The iPOD is capable of sounding better with pricier earbods. Just remember with isolation earbuds you can't hear the phone or people yelling at you! Why buy an Ipod Photo for $250instead of Apple 30 GB iPod with Video Playback Black for $300? The Ipod Photo is a 4th generation player, the video model is the 5th. I would go with the new Video if you focus on photos since the screen is slightly bigger. Also if you have more than 30 GB of songs on your hard drive and need to carry about 30 GB than pay the extra $50. But using mixed waves, MP3, and ACC, I have 1000 songs and its still not half filled. I would not buy the nano because if you like music, 4GB will not be enough storage for you. Now why buy an Ipod instead of a Zen, Iriver or Sandisk? In my opinion the hardware feel and software quality of the iPOD is superior to these makes, but try them out yourself at a store. They are not significantly cheaper for identical features either. If you use Napster, and Rhapsody to GO (fill up your player for a monthly fee) you can't use the iPOD at present. Rhapsody claims you can still buy $0.99 songs for iPOD but Apple's itunes store includes the CD art to display on the color screen. Yes the iPOD can drag and drop album art in itunes using ACC (best new codec), that are displayed in full color on the screen from right here on Amazon. But I don't think old MP3s can display the album art which is why some people say it doesn't work. So I am very happy with the iPOD... | ||

| My son loved it. You collect shells, bugs, apples ect and collect bells (money) that you can use to buy houses with all the trimmings and customize it. Plus you learn how to help your community... In this day of violent games this one is a happy change. O he's 12 and loves the shooters but I'm glad he loved this title also! Nintendo has parents in mind so stick with that system if the violence and language of PSP and XBox turn you off. | ||

| Yes I agree you should be able to hold a flashlight and gun at the same time. I've read there is a mod available "duct tape" that straps flashlight to your gun. But having to use the flashlight is part of the game and makes it scarier in my opinion. But the darkness lightens up near the middle and definitely gets heated up in hell! I can't wait for the expansion pack on the way in March 2005! Yes system requrements may be steep but computers and games made a quantum leap in graphics in 2004. So make sure you have one of the graphics cards listed and at least half a gig of RAM...1 gig better I've read. | ||

It is a little dry...written scholar to scholar, not for consumers or even families in my opinion. But its now totally out out date with regards to new antipsychotics as it only mentiones Clozaril and Risperdal. Missing Seroquel, Zyprexa, Geodon, Abilify and plenty more now being tested! Look at recommendations for another...this is past its prime. | ||

Ken Watanabe is the true last samurai in this film (and was nominated for best actor in a supporting role) All the Japanese warriors in the final battle scene all commit seppuku instead of being captured. Cruise pops up like a drunken soldier. Cruise is as always easy on the eyes but does not convince as a Samurai Warrior. He's a lover not a warrior...There are also bits of humor in this film added by Cruise that seems totally out of place. I love him in every movie but this one is not his best. Also Academy Nominated for Costume Design, Art Direction, and I totally agree with the Dances with Wolves analogy! | ||

| My Sensei recommended this book and the recommendation holds true 20 years after it was published. It is now outdated as it only has the first 10 of the now 12 Seite kata of the ZNKR(All Japan Kendo Federation). These kata are used around the world as a standard for grading no matter what ryu (school) you study. But the rest of the book is timeless! This book is for the study of Iaido. If you want to learn what that is, buy this book. It includes chapters on tradation and history vital for an understanding of the practice of Iaido. It should be used as a supplement to study with a qualified Sensei. | ||

| Unlike the many books on bushido I have bought, this is a collection of short writings translated with no interpretation, other than an introduction. There are no great descriptions of great battles fought. The passages tend toward the more mundane business of being a feudal lord. Several are 'last statements' which gives you insight as to what the Samurai really wanted to be remembered for. And you will remember the quotable word bites. There are several B&W reproductions of paintings of the authors. | ||

| If you want an accurate historical account of schizophrenia read "A Beautiful Mind" "Rose Garden" was written in 1964. So remember it has no relationship to modern treatment. For modern treatment read Torrey's Surviving Schizophrenia. Dr. Torry cites "Rose Garden" as one of the 15 worst books on Schizophrenia. Psychoanalysis was tried and discredited long ago for schizophrenia. But if you have a romantic historical vision of Psychoanalysis, you may enjoy this book in an entertaining way as long as you remember its pure fiction. Hannah Green/Joanne Greenberg (she's too embarrassed to admit to writing this?) just had a little trouble adjusting and was hospitalized as a result. This was in the old days before HMOs mind you! So she was cured of her rebellion, common for the period and wrote a fictionalized account of it! She mixes Fact and Fiction to confuse the issue. The movie from 1977 is even worse if you can believe. Without the author's prose, it's premise is just preposterous. The mental hospital that the book was written about (Chestnut Lodge in Rockville, MD) closed in the past year. That should give you a clue to the usefulness of this type of country club treatment for serious mental illness. The worst part is that people may read or see this and think it has ANYTHING to do with real schizophrenia. And you wonder why there is still stigma and misconceptions? Look no farther! | ||
