This is an amazingly useful book. If you aren't a mac person but have a mac, you really should buy this. It's straightforward and very revealing. Truly a masterful manual.

Mad cow disease. You never know who's dumping what in ground meat, and I like meat, but that's one nasty condition. Grind your own and you pretty much avoid it :) It's very simple to use and the meat tastes better when you do it yourself. Kitchen Aid is one of my favorite companies and this is a great attachment. Hard to beat it.

I purchased this scanner so that I could preserve a large find of family photos. While I don't know everything yet about how to use it, I can tell you that it scans beautifully, and that the film holders really cut down on time. Before I did them individually and it took forever. Now I do four strips at a time and edit later. On the negative side, the manual is an absolute joke. There is no meaningful documentation. So don't count on being able to look stuff up, because you can't. And secondly, and this is happening a lot lately, the box from Amazon got really roughed up on the way. I was very disappointed in that. When I bought another device, a smaller one, the USPS used rubber bands and left it sitting on the open lid of my mailbox. That's not Amazon's fault, but I've been unhappy with packaging/delivery several times lately and I'd like them to be aware of it. All in all, though, I have a lot to learn, and no manual, but I'm reasonably smart and have figured out what I need to know. I'm overall quite pleased.

I would buy anything by Jordan, so consider me biased. That said, this is a fun, fun album, very 40ish, and the band is so tight you can't really believe it's a live performance. It's a lot of fun.

..it might be my fault but i can't get it to work. I hear it's great, I'm fairly savvy, but I can't use it. So far anyway. Every time I try to install an OS it just bombs.

Apple is a brilliant company, but their tech support is a bit stiff, frankly. I would highly recommend this. I've had to use it a couple of times, and it's been a lifesaver. You'll need it so just get it.

For those who are switching from a windows machine, this book is very helpful when you go looking for things like how to do different commands for the same result (i.e., how to get the same results on a mac as you do on a pc). That's the main use for it. Otherwise I'd just get the regular Missing Manual for your product. But still useful. I got some good use from it.

I got this because typing makes my wrists ache. It's okay, but the keys are cheapish, and the layout isn't as nice as a Microsoft Natural, which is what I'm used to. I'd really prefer something more along those lines.

I'm really pleased with this purchase. The camera is responsive, it's easy to use yet has the capacity to be quite sophisticated. I haven't figured everything out yet, like whether or not you can use the screen to frame a picture. If so, it's not obvious. But I wanted a nice digital camera, and this really fits the bill. The colors are gorgeous. Now to get one of those supernice nikon zoom lenses...hmmmmm...

I have been very curious about Ipods and was looking forward to getting one and I have to say, it's a fascinating device which changes my perspective on my music collection. I was surprised that it came with no instructions, but since it is so intuitive,and because I knew the basics already, that was no big deal (you can download a manual from Apple, which I did). What immediately struck me was how much music I never listen to, and how easy it is to explore now. I have all my albums and MP3s at my fingertips (or thumbtips), and when you shuffle them, you find songs you might have forgotten about or never known about. If you're like me, you have albums you haven't listened to in awhile. So I found a couple of forgotten gems on a Carlene Carter album and an old rockabilly album and Duke Ellington just kind of sneaks up on you this way... Anyway, that part of this device fascinates me. But then there are the playlists, and the whole world of secondary toys. For instance, as soon as you get hooked, you'll want it in your car. I have moved all my albums, all my photos, a couple of videos, and quite a few podcasts to it, and have filled less than 15 out of 60 gigs. My only complaint is that the battery life for video isn't very long. But the picture is very sharp, and if you buy an AC adaptor (should come with it) it's very nice for watching while your beloved sleeps. Okay, one other complaint. Can't stand the ear buds. They are simply awful. For me they are physically painful, and if you want to go deaf faster, then by all means put something inside your ear rather than on them. I ditched them first day. All things considered, it is a very, very impressive product, and one I recommend without hesitation.
