![]() | "They work so-so, and they smell like perfume" | 2009-10-22 |
| I've used Swiffer dusters for a few years now. They do a mediocre job. They require Endust or something to collect dust. I use them because I find the dusting wand handy. It can be articulated to any angle. I have cloth padded walls and ceiling in my RV, so I use a clean Swiffer duster to go over the cloth before I spray the duster to do the woodwork and ceramic tile floor. Then I take it outside and dust off some of the outside parts of my RV. Each one gets a good workout and is tossed. I like not having to wash rags.
They have no static, so I keep one handy to dust off the computer, which is a real dust magnet. This new Febreze batch smells quite strong. I don't like any kind of perfume. I'm hoping they'll air out. --pat

![]() | "Excellent story, audio edition beautifully done" | 2009-06-04 |
| I'm a big Patrick Robinson fan. He gives good value with his long stories, so I prefer the audio editions of his books. Unabridged, of course. The reader of "Diamondhead" is superb. He does a multitude of accents and languages. The story itself is fun and doesn't lag anywhere. This is probably my favorite Robinson to date. I didn't like that I had to download software from [...] to download the books. The whole process was messy. Their player software is awful. No way to go back a little bit, unless bookmarks are created. I play it on Media Player. On the other hand, MP doesn't seem to have bookmarks. | ||

![]() | "convoluted ending" | 2008-11-15 |
| As the story is resolved, I thought the explanations were weak, not particularly believable, and unsatisfying. I always enjoy the stories that feature Milo, though. | ||
| Presto 06620 11-Inch Electric Skillet | ||
![]() | "love this little pan" | 2008-10-04 |
| I think this is my 3rd or 4th of this little 11 inch Presto electric skillet. They don't wear out. I keep giving them away, trying new cookware. My space is too small to accommodate more than one cooking appliance like this. This version of the Presto skillet is a little different from previous ones. Mostly cosmetic. It works great, fits nicely in my small space, is very easy to clean. The nonstick doesn't come off. It's light weight. It heats fast and cooks evenly. Not much splatters on the heating plug, which goes below the handle for some protection. Of course, the whole pan is submersible once the heating plug is removed. | ||

![]() | "the video is now on DVD" | 2008-09-21 |
| Several reviews noted that the video came in obsolete VHS form. Cuisinart got the message. It's now on DVD. The chef on the DVD had a handy habit of pushing the cutting blade down firmly onto the post and then reaching underneath the bowl to hold the cutting blade in place while dumping the contents. I found that most of my fat fingers don't fit, but I can manage the trick. br /br /The many parts become second nature rather quickly. I have a teeny tiny RV kitchen sink, no dishwasher, and I still manage to wash it OK. Draining dry just requires creative piling. I'm going to try cookie dough. Space is very limited, so this little machine will have to be the mixer as well. br /br /This processor comes with a medium slicer blade and the shredder. I found the addition of the 6mm french fry blade was the only addition I'll likely use. I don't fine grate things. I'll likely use the shredder for any kind of julienne output. Shredding reminds me. Have to get the ingredients for potato pancakes. | ||

![]() | "it's cute" | 2008-09-21 |
| Haven't used it yet; although, I looked it over. I got it partly because it's a cute little thing. Fits in my car nicely. Basically I took the recommendations of the other reviewers. The ones mentioning the 15amp output requirement were extremely helpful. Just wanted to add that feedback. The coiled hose fits nicely into its zip compartment. | ||
| Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard | ||
![]() | "I LIKE this keyboard" | 2008-08-21 |
| Pros: The lighting is excellent. The blue is nice. Key touch is fine. Macros are very easy to record. Macros and keystrokes are very easy to assign to G keys. I love that only one USB port is needed and there are no little microphone or earphone wires hanging around. I stand the keyboard on end against the wall next to my chair when not in use, so the open holes at the top make it easy to handle. The flat ends make it easy to stand on end. The construction is substantial. The black and silver lines are attractive. There are Vista 64-bit drivers for it. It seems to work seamlessly with my new laptop. Probably more stuff, but that's what I've liked so far. Cons: Wrist rest is floppy and useless, since I hold the keyboard in my lap. The left shift seems to skip sometimes, but that may be my touch or my laptop. I had the same problem, only worse, using the laptop keyboard. I think others have tested the onboard USB ports and found them to be USB 1, but I assume a power cord to the kb would be needed to provide enough power for most peripherals, like you have to do with USB hubs. I could use those ports. My laptop has only 3. Mouse, kb, printer. No room for scanner, backup drive, or other peripherals. | ||

| The product is fine, and I like my Tassimo one-cup coffee maker a lot. But, unless B3 is showing the count wrong, Amazon is way overcharging for this. Same with the Starbuck's house blend. | ||

| Hoover Flair Bagless Stick Upright Vacuum | ||
![]() | "I didn't believe a stick vac would be this good" | 2008-06-25 |
| I bought this based on the average review from so many reviewers. I've used it only once, since I got it about an hour ago. I vacuumed two area rugs that I had been vacuuming for weeks with a hand vac. I couldn't believe how much cat fur and dust this vacuum picked up. It was just funny. I hope it keeps working. The rugs look so nice. Couple things. I found the carpet button has to be firmly pressed to get the beater bar stated. Also, I vacuumed the first rug, and without turning it off, I picked up the vac to move a couple feet to the second rug. The beater bar started to rattle a bit. I'll check that the next time I use it, but I imagine it pulled away from the handle a bit. I should have turned it off. If this little Hoover keeps its power, it's going to be a great appliance in my small RV. Cleanup was a lot less onerous that I feared. --pat | ||
![]() | Twinings Green Tea T-Discs for Tassimo (3-Pack, 24 disks total)

| I think I'm not a green tea drinker. This is pretty awful tasting stuff. Glad I bought just one bag, because I'm throwing it out. | ||
| Garmin Foretrex 101 Wrist-Mounted GPS with Waterproof Exterior | ||
![]() | "Excellent tracker" | 2008-03-26 |
| This is my final GPS unit. It does what I want. It's easy to set and tracks quickly and efficiently. Sure wish these things could see the satellites inside of buildings. I got it partly to find my car in mall parking lots, but it would also be handy to track back to the correct building entrance. Once it's moving around under roof, though, it can't track well, if at all. I'd like it to have a lanyard hole, so I wouldn't always have to wear it on my wrist. I could use it as a key fob or have other options. The computer interface cable has to be plugged in HARD to get it to connect. The Iogear USB to serial adapter cable works well with it. | ||

![]() | "Easy driver download from Iogear for all Windows versions" | 2008-03-26 |
| I'm using this adapter with a Garmin GPS unit. The cable itself is very nicely made. Not as clunky looking as its photo. The packaging says (in print a little too small) to download Vista drivers from the website. Their zip file creates a subfolder for each version of Windows. Really nicely done. The drivers work quite well and are flexible enough to recognize a new USB port if the plug is moved. | ||
| Mocedades - Coleccion Original | ||
![]() | "love every song" | 2007-11-23 |
| Mocedades reminds me a lot of Mamas and Papas. Sure they're a bit unpolished. The albums are decades old. That's just the point. It's what makes them so appealing. You hear every voice and note. And all the songs and harmonies they do are wonderfully singable. I see that this review will post on this "Coleccion" album. Their "Platino" is my favorite. | ||

![]() | "great product, questionable seller" | 2007-06-14 |
| I already submitted a seller review before I got their tacky "coupon" offer in my email. I had asked them not to send any correspondence, but they did anyway. The questionnaire promised a $25 coupon on my next purchase. Since I intended to buy a backup heater, I participated in the questionnaire. At the end, after I was suckered into submitting the feedback, they admitted the coupon was only good for purchases over $200. There are several websites offering this heater for the same price and free shipping. I'd rather have the Amazon backing, but I won't do business with this seller. The product looked used when I got it, which I phoned into them. Their order confirmation emails had severe warnings about returns and restocking fee. On the other hand, the fellow with whom I spoke to report that the product looked used was very nice and reassuring. The heater is great. | ||
| Four To Score (A Stephanie Plum Novel) | ||
![]() | "narrator review" | 2007-06-14 |
| I'm confused. The first half dozen or so Evanovich books were read well. Then suddenly around "Eight..." they started to sound bland. I miss the old Grandma. | ||

![]() | "campy fun and great Amsterdam" | 2007-05-20 |
| This movie was so unbelievable, it was fun. Agreed with the opinions of the great Amsterdam scenes. I had never seen a movie made there. Charming place. I enjoyed the boat bum. All the parts where the girl gets the best of the hitman were so unbelievable. In one part a supposed 10-year-old (she looks 16, if she's a day), swings from a beam in an elevator shaft and kicks the hitman off balance. Picture a normal sized 10-year-old girl doing this. Which makes the whole thing really nutty. Oh, and the ambulance chase with the William Hurt character hanging on outside was pure Charlie Chaplin. I expected him to lose an arm grabbing the crowbar at such high speed. I cringed at the crashes and hoped nothing in that lovely antique town was damaged. | ||
| Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare | ||
![]() | "lots to do" | 2007-05-09 |
| I have enjoyed all the "Alone in the Dark" games. Adventure games are my favorite genre. This one goes back to the basic mansion crawl. I downloaded a couple walkthroughs from the internet plus the cheat codes and game hints. I am playing it with infinite health, ammunition, and almost 100 saves. I need help to get through any computer game. Still, it's taking a long time to complete. My walkthrough did not point out that most rooms and hallways have lightswitches, but when I discovered that, it greatly enhanced the enjoyment of the scenery. This is something new that allows the player to see the artwork. It's also a 2-for-one game in that it can be played as either of two characters, and both are different enough to make each time through enjoyable. | ||
| Vertical Tower - PS-80508 | ||
![]() | "Tower comments" | 2001-11-11 |
| The tower is excellent. The section that holds the memory cards could use a slot for the game shark module. Also, the instructions could be a little clearer. Everything fits beautifully. I also got the carrying bag. These two products are well designed and constructed. They are relatively inexpensive, so I didn't expect the quality. | ||
| System Carrying Case - Black - SPS960 | ||
![]() | "Great fit" | 2001-11-11 |
| This case is well designed and constructed. The fit is perfect. There are enough pockets for most of the peripherals for the PS2. I also got the tower, which is surprisingly well made too, considering neither of these products is too expensive. | ||

![]() | "Well "I" liked it!" | 2001-09-27 |
| After the one star review, I'm feeling kind of stupid. I enjoy this movie. (Present tense. I have a videotape from TV or someplace that I watch occasionally). I'd like to get it on DVD for my RV collection. I like the larger than life characters. One guy makes a statement at the very beginning about Hackman's character, "I hate these old guys. They're always thinking," or something to that effect. Multiply it by two old guys, and it turns into fun. The has-been look they give to the participants, from the Saudi financier-money launderer, who has even been forced to sell the gold fixtures in his bathroom to survive, to the documents forger in a dingy loft adds to the tongue-in-cheek spy atmosphere. The US and Soviet agents chasing the Hackman and Baryshnikov characters have to go way back in their computer histories to find logical accomplices to catch the "old guys." Great stuff. | ||

| King Ralph | ||
![]() | "Kind of humiliating for Americans..." | 2001-08-25 |
| While I enjoyed this movie for its entertainment value and John Goodman's charm and Peter O'Toole's character's sympathetic elegance, I felt that it made Americans seem envious that we don't have royalty. Additionally, we're not all as boorish as the Goodman character, so why sharpen the contrast? It also seemed incredibly disrespectful a sort of arrogant toward the British. Despite those bits of discomfort, it is fun to watch. | ||

![]() | "Finally, H. Ford with character" | 2001-08-23 |
| This is one of my favorite movies. Ford is funny and does an excellent job portraying a carefree drunk, who also happens to be a top notch pilot. I love characters who are low key about being very good at something. I am always disappointed in Ford's wooden faced portrayals in just about all his other movies. In this one he has character. What happened? Did somebody let him act? Be himself? Heche is also great fun in this movie, and I love best the fact that her role is allowed and expected to pull her own weight in the story. I hate helpless females, and, through a combination of writing and, in large part, I suspect, her acting, her character is fun and admirable. I saw Heche again recently on TV. She really is a delight to watch. I'd love to see a sequel to this movie. Make that a "good" sequel.... | ||
