First, this is not a review about all the technical features and a electronics expert review. Read some of the other reviews for that from electronics experts. I needed to get a camera that was... 1. Really GOOD (Took Great Photos) 2. Super Easy to Use 3. Easily Portable. The Canon PowerShot SD1000 7.1MP meets all three of those criteria like a CHAMP. I carry it with me just about everywhere because I can it is such a PERFECT portable size. So I have a small camera with me at the restaurant when I am with my cousins. And I have a small camera with me when we visit Disneyland. And the picture quality is excellent. Again, I am not aiming for professional quality photographs. But I did want excellent quality photographs. My Canon totally delivers that. Where were you this past year where you were kicking yourself because you either didn't have a portable camera or where the quality of you camera (like the one on most digital phones) was poor? Well, buy this camera, and end that happening again in the future. Because this is your portable digital camera, you will want to also purchase a protective case for it to avoid scratches and nicks. Something like Kroo Camera Case for Canon Powershot Camera Digital Camera + Bonus Bundled with Universal LCD Screen Protector Kit + Cloth (Many Color Available) (Slim NylonPink) for the color options, Protective Case For CANON PowerShot Digital Cameras *Includes Convenient Shoulder Strap & Mini Tripod* which has both the case and cool mini-tripod for about the same price, or one of the spiffy leather cases like Canon PSC-55 Deluxe Leather Compact Case SD Series Digital Cameras. The one product "drawback" is that the Memory Card holds really only about 15 pix. Which is fine for one evening out with your family. However, when you are traveling for vacation or on a weekend wine country jaunt, you want the freedom to take LOTS of pix without having to run to your laptop and download them to clear some memory. While you are ordering your Canon here, just add a more robust memory card (I bought two because I just NEVER wanted it to be an issue and they are super cheap.) BLAZING 4GB Secure Digital SDHC Memory Card and you are good to go and have fun.

If you are a Westerner new to Feng Shui or have been using it for years, Stephen Skinner's KISS Guide to Feng Shui is an easily approachable book. The DK Publishing books are great. Their whole layout is very engaging, with lots of TIPS sections, illustrations, and little jokes which make a complex system approachable to Westerners who are intrigued by it. Stephen Skinner is the Western man on Feng Shui you want to turn to as the one who opened the door in the 1970s and is the founder and publisher of "Feng Shui for Modern Living" magazine which is internally best selling. While the book is quite large and jam packed with Feng Shui information, have no fears. You do not have to read and deeply comprehend every nuance of Feng Shui to get started with it. The illustrations make the learning easy and clear to comprehend. The SIMPLE SUMMARY box at the end of each chapter does EXACTLY that, it summarizes a long richly illustrated chapter and gives you easy comprehension. Then you can actually go use this in your life at home and at the office like Madonna and Donald Trump do (Trump Tower in Manhattan is an excellent illustration of excellent business building Feng Shui applied in a modern manner." Making it very approachable for Westerners, DK Publishing used a cute (not too cutesy) Dragon cartoon to point out Tips and Topics especially to note and learn. Because there is no TABLE of CONTENTS here at Amazon, I'll provide those for you to help you choose to add this to your reading list: The Forward is by Master Wu Hsien Sheng The Book is in SIX Parts: PART ONE: Understanding Feng Shui What is Feng Shui? (addresses one of the misunderstandings that it itself is a spiritual practice which some Christians might then find problematic, no worries) Who Does Feng Shui and Why? A Look at Feng Shui's History Gods, Graves, and Feng Shui Masters PART TWO: How Feng Shui Works Ch'i and Alignments (which is a very approachable topic) The Building Blocks of Feng Shui Chinese Cosmology (giving us more insights into an increasingly influential global culture) The Trigrams and Lo Shu (still a bit challenging for me, but it's a start) PART THREE: The Feng Shui of Interiors Feng Shui Inside Your Home (essential reading for creating harmoniously pleasing spaces in your home and place of family, love and rest) Living Rooms, Dining Rooms, Bedrooms Bathrooms, Kitchens, Corridors Business Feng Shui and Color (yes it is different than what you want at home) PART FOUR: THe Feng Shui of Exterior The Four Celestial Animals Feng Shui Outside Your Home (this was so helpful about creating an eye pleasing entry way and front garden area as well as guarding your back walls, made so much sense) Water Dragon Feng Shui (not something a lot of Westerns grasped. A number of Brits take to this immediately with the popularity of TV show, Ground Force's frequent use of a "Water Feature." That is Feng Shui in a Western context.) The Feng Shui Garden (another chapter I found so approachable and easy to grasp and use. Inspired a weekend run to Home Depot to do a little application. I would love to see another KISS book just on Feng Shui gardens) PART FIVE: Remedies and Formulas The Eight Mansion Formula Feng Shui Remedies (some super easy, some a bit more complex) Symbolic Feng Shui The East Life/West Life Formula PART SIX: Compass School Feng Shui Time and the Calendar Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches Compass School Feng Shui Tools (I found this section a little bit harder to get on how I was to apply Feng Shui, however, I'm just beginning. This application I would still then likely bring in a professional Feng Shui consultant to apply for at my office and my home. This helps me to have a foundation in it.) When you are just starting out in Feng Shui and are craving a whole approach for your home and office, not just a few articles here and there "KISS Guide to Feng Shui" is an excellent addition to your home library which you will use again and again.
	The Grief Recovery Handbook : The Action Program for Moving Beyond Death Divorce, and Other Losses
	"7 deaths in 6 years, Man I NEEDED This Book to COMPLETE My Grief"	2009-03-18
When my dad died in April 2008, the 7th major death in 6 years, I was simply devastated and my whole life went into upheaval. Dave Lakhani thoughtfully mailed me a copy of this book. I had done SO much work already on my losses, but they were really about discovery and did NOTHING to actually COMPLETE the emotional part which IS Grief. Thank God he gave me this book. THen I met Russell Friedman in Boise in January 2009 and realized there was a Grief Recovery Workshop not too far from where I lived. And I was facing another significant loss event - a major move - on top of my brother's wedding (you wouldn't think immediately with such a joyful event that there is grief, but yup, it is. Major CHANGE prompts normal natural response of... Grief). I simply HAD to go. The Grief Recovery Workshop which included our reading and completely the simple and easy action steps for Grief Completion. This book is so excellent on its own. And then to leverage it within a group. Served to expand it and make it even stronger. It was like an emotional bran muffin. So many people comment on things like Clutter as stuck energy. Well, yeah, duh. But just jettisoning the stuff does NOTHING to address and complete the emotions which are STUCK. The Grief Recovery Handbook is that book. It is the emotional bran muffin which gives us the actual and only tools to complete the emotions so you can get UNstuck. We have all had major loss events. Death of People Divorce (our own, our parents) Moves Death of Pets Romantic Relationship Breakups Losing Job Financial Setbacks Here is THE book which provides THE tools to surface and complete the emotional side of the picture: Grief So yes, buy seven copies one for yourself 6 for others whom you know Since reading it, I have given it to 3 other people in just the last month to help THEIR Grief Completion. Because I care about them. And isn't that what you feel for your friends? Give them a copy, too.
	The Psychology of Persuasion: How to Persuade Others to Your Way of Thinking
	"Seminal Work on Persuasion, STILL Practical for Salespeople, Entrepreneurs and Anyone Wanting to Persuade Others"	2009-03-17
In April 2006 as I was starting a new job in Sales returning to work from time off as a widow, a GF in Biz Dev lent me two books on Sales. One of them she pulled out and showed me the intriguing opening pages of each chapter which had a visual representing how each chapter built upon the other so we had a whole picture of how to effectively and ethically persuade others. She looked me in the eye, nodded, and said, "THIS one, THIS one you will want to read and implement." Boy, she was NOT kidding! Kevin Hogan provides a wonderful combination of academic cool research and clear practical steps that any sales person (who is NOT a sales person in some aspect of their life, I ask you?), entrepreneur, spouse and parent can actually understand and APPLY in their life. After each Law he demonstrates, Hogan provides not just one example that is so abstract that it's of no use. Oh no! Hogan instead provides 10 clear cut examples from a cross-section of life which anyone can SO easily copy and apply to your field that he makes Persuasion just SO easy. And he is always reading cutting edge research. So this is not dull dry (sorry, you know what I mean, meaning no disrepect to academia) research which we can't understand. Not at all! 13 years later, Psychology of Persuasion is still the number one sales book I recommend every sales person and entrepreneur read and apply. It is clearly a must addition to your library!
	When Children Grieve : For Adults to Help Children Deal with Death, Divorce, Pet Loss, Moving, and Other Losses

Friedman, Russell and Matthews (aka Michael Landon's daughter) have written a beautiful, gentle healing and completion book for adults in a position to help children complete their grief after a loss. As a Dating and Relationship Coach, naturally, I sought out training for Divorce and Grief Recovery from the world-renowned Grief Recovery Institute (www.Grief.net) based in Sherman Oaks. Reading "When Children Grieve" of course is a must read for anyone with children facing any kind of loss, be it death of a relative, moving, death of a pet, divorce. However, about half way through, I started to see an additional usefulness to this seminal work. The short lists for what to be sure to cover when doing a relationship review both for the death of a pet as well as death of a relative were so gentle, loving, and helpful that I realized this would be a wonderful work for any adult who grew up in any kind of a dysfunctional family. I hate to overly use the nearly hackneyed lingo of healing our inner child. However, truly indeed, the loving, caring tone with clear boundaries was one which would be ALSO be SO beneficial for anyone who grew up in a dysfunctional family that I had to cite that in an Amazon review so adults would think to purchase this IN ADDITION to the classic "The Grief Recovery Handbook." In case you are not already familiar with The Grief Recovery Institute, they are the ones CNN brought in after 911 to help a nation grieve as well as be featured with Matt Lauer on Divorce and Children. This book is a must have for any adult, any parent. So short, easy to read and easy to implement. You will be such a help to others as well as to yourself.
	Personality Plus: How to Understand Others by Understanding Yourself

I have a NUMBER of Florence Littauer's EXCELLENT Peronsality books. As a Dating Expert and Relationship Coach, her books are essential reading for our building a foundation for great romantic relationships. Indeed, her books are great for Christians and everyone alike who is seeking to get married and build great relationships which last. The more that we are self-aware, the greater equipped we are to reach out and truly connect with and understand others. Then we can create real intimacy in all of our relationships. And isn't that what we all crave? Intimacy. Florene Littauer's Personality Plus gives you the skills to do so. Happy Dating and Happy Reading!

Well, I didn't utterly LOVE this book. But as a Romance Coach and one who purports Online Dating etc. naturally, I have read this book. It is worth a read. Interesting enough it is one of the few dating books which was actually RESEARCHED. However, the author shows his research background because he does not know how to engage his audience, who would clearly be Unmarried Women, and likely those over 35. The one point he makes which I think is utterly fabulous is his noticing that women who marry are often those with a gaggle of girlfriends with whom they regularly go out where all are making an effort to meet men and marry. This is SUCH sound advice. Fun too! Take it. Read this book. It's worth a read. I can safely recommend books where I can leverage at least a few of the ideas. Not CHOCK full of ideas for getting more dates like I am, but some good ideas. Those books are worth reading. This is one of those. Enjoy! What a dreadful waste of my hard-earned money. The worst dating book I've ever read. Instead buy Find a Husband After 35 Using What I Learned at Harvard Business School by Rachel Greenwald, Surrendered Single by Laura Doyle, and Master Dating by Felicia Rose Adler. Those are a MUCH better use of your money! Mazel tov!
