Rated 5 Stars"Excellent simple pleasure - brings back memories of simpler times" 2008-04-06
Great minimalistic approach from paul - fun disc with great memories attached for me - the measure of music for most people!

I enjoyed this solo album for its simple pleasures - has some nice stuff on it and is refreshingly minimalistic in its approach to some classic writing by paul. it sort of balances "Band on the Run" and "Venus and Mars" type studio productions. I think of it as a close and personal type statement about paul's more happy and free time in his professional and personal lives! these moments come infrequently to us all and i am happy paul captured this time-capsule of his life for us to share and remember moments like these we all cherish! nothing simpler and sweeter than a bowl full of cherries that are so happy they jump out of the bowl and all over the table in celebratory jubilant dance of joy! ;-) can't wait for the next bout of this type of simple pleasure-cycle to come round again! hope the same for y'all!

hey, this album is special for those of us who lived this era - it is not meant to be evaluated for anyone else except as a passing fancey - those of us who lived this era have a special place for this album. this was one of my first albums, released a few days after my 10th birthday and i played it to death.........PLAYED IT TO DEATH!!! and thank god my mom loved the beatles, too! i DO NOT CARE if you think this is not up to your standards because, in most cases, you were not a part of this fantastic new experience starting at that time, so you are clueless about this whole thing here. just like i was clueless at ten, but i know there was something cool, fun and fascinating here...and it blossomed in time just like i did! so if you did not grow up while the BEATLES grew, then you have no clue as to why this is near and dear to those of us who have a fondness and gratefulness to have been there at the beginning of this era! Thank you Sweet Lord, for letting me grow up when i did as life from the 70's forward just wanked out and been going down ever since!!! thank you, thank you, thank you! btw, i have the Japanese release and am so pleased with this in my collection! Enjoy, for those who know what i mean from living those times!

Rated 5 Stars"What fallacies - what bias?" 2006-05-17
Having just viewed the entire DVD collection of this title, I have to say this should be required viewing for every student and every young person starting a career, especially in the corporate, media or legal worlds.
Having followed and researched numerous aspects of legal plundering of big biz with the cooperation of media, military and government, this expose and documentary puts a very complex and highly disturbing, and hence ignored, matter in very comprehensible and approachable form. One will realize it goes beyond the rules we, as citizens and individuals, of the world have been experiencing and where it is going....watch it for your children's sakes, for that matter, watch it with your children! be prepared for some intense questions, not only from them, but from yourself! realize most people are either ignorant as the lead masses dumbed down or ignorant, OR they have no stomach for the truth that is beyond their control (or at least a vampyric doom machine hard to turn off once started!)! At least you will be one step closer to not being taken in by the fallacies of corporate marketing and public conditioning!

Rated 5 Stars"Give it a Break!" 2006-05-07
This is just a fine fantasy movie that i cherish as a wonderful childhood experience which i warmly remember seeing in the classic grand movie houses of the 50-60's! give it a break about how cheesy it is - most of the movies were just that back then - the individual ranting and raving about this anti-, non-irish, unauthentic production ought to stick to documentaries, historical, travel or otherwise - this is not the type of movie that requires such a vicious and intellectual bashing - ha! get a life! all one has to know is if you like old disney movies, like the actors that you have to watch, want to watch a "fairy tale" that is enjoyable, and/or do you remember this wonderful tale when you were a kid (or possibly share it with your kids now!)? Anyone who wants to play a "roeper and ebert" wanna-be with this old gem ought to spare us all. no need for anything here, but to sit back and enjoy a vintage disney classic - i am just happy it made DVD! enjoy!

Rated 5 Stars"See the Movie - then read some of the fear and ignorance here!" 2006-04-02
HA! Great movie, plot, performances and insights! Gotta see this one, at least once, for experiencing a truly under-rated masterpiece. My main reason for writing is the inane comments here and fear with reality that pervades our society. Those who can't, don't or won't appreciate (at least) the marvelous, insightful messages here are possibly the very ones that assure nothing will ever change much . Scary to shed light on bare essence of humanity's inhumanity and its inability to rise above the systematic base obsessions of power, control and coveting; whether rationalized with all the reasons that endorse continuing to man's lower instincts or from fear of looking beyond the security of ignorance. It is amazing that the natural order of things may be better balanced and have a wisdom beyond anything man may attain, as he seeks to control nature and fellow man while failing miserably at controlling himself, even with all his knowledge and tech, to a point equal or beyond the inherent natural wisdom of (so called)lower species.
Have some fun and enjoy this movie. It is powerful and as perfect as it gets in addressing very intriguing human societal conundrums while offering quality performances from a great cast on numerous levels. As a species, we have come so far and grown so little! This movie will make you (oh-oh) think and feel about subliminal and covert topics o human nature that are rarely put well in words or illustrated in today's world.

Rated 5 Stars"Scorsese, Schrader, Richardson, Cage et al - BRAVO!!!!" 2006-02-02
For all the right people to get this together for some dark magic moments and reflections on Life and Lost Lives....Thank you - thank you - thank you! Being originally an east coast besides a fan of these collaborators, the Dark New York Saga just gives me the goosebumps!!! I loved the various subplots and mini moments of madness - HA! like the mad ambulance crash and the trippy drive between cage and his old partner (sorry, i love the guy but such is fame that i forget his name!) - you gotta love this scorsese trip - thank god for those brave ones with original visions who go beyond the normal hollywood formula for some real treats that just click and cums together - and this one works all the way!!!!

rent, borrow or steal this dvd before you buy it if you even have a moment's hesitation that it is a winner, unlike most of what comes out of tinsel town any more! a most unusual success!

BRAVO! A permamnet part of my collection!

PS - if you take the time to watch the documentary after the movie, hopefully on both vhs and dvd, you will get a whole different aspect of the movie from the interviews with scorsese, cage, goodman and rest. If you still don't get it or appreciate this movie by then, i think that says it all! i found this one of the best all round movie experiences, full of deja vu and nostalgic new york and human elements rarely captured in an urban artistic, contemporary urban, dark, comedic, and enlightening fashion. Heartfelt human frailties, fractures and failures that struggle to keep the faith.

Rated 4 Stars"Degrees in Physics don't mean anything except mostly conventional closed minds and spirits!" 2005-07-27
Read my review - and then reread the one bad review listed here:(*----) "Fundamentally disappointing, December 27, 2004"
Reviewer: Brian Huff "bex" (Minneapolis, MN, USA) "the guy with the physics degree...."
is very typical, disappointingly misleading and a prime example of the closed mindedness the documented scientists in the following books are facing as they peer into a window that shows a startling new universal picture of the ALL, not a machine broken down into pieces that are analyzed separately and incorrectly isolated from one another . Here is another "degree" who has all the answers and all else is incorrect and childish. I surmise it may be a PhD "piled higher and deeper" mentality who wrote this as he begins the critique with his degree in hand as a child hugs a security blanket! God forbid there should be something he doesn't understand or doesn't fit in his square peg hole! Maybe Newton or Einstein was the hero not to be de-throned. But those are the teachers that allow these men and women take the next steps because "they stood on the shoulders of giants". The student should surpass the teacher, or perhaps the teachers have failed....because it is a slow-evolving process....such is science.

For anyone interested in keeping up to date with the discouragingly courageous efforts of those who are seeking the next paradigm shift in our window of the all (health notwithstanding), this book is excellent reading.

I have read this book and "The Holographic Universe" at the same time and it is awesome to find that some insightful people are seriously seeking answers to how the all is related and functioning. Do read both if not at same time (excellent cross reference), but at least check out both together. Some seriously intelligent and insightful people are working on puzzles and concepts that indeed boggle the mind and make for stranger than fiction, King-size Kudos to those doing the work and those trying to get the word out on this exciting new realm of understanding.

Most advanced physicists have overlooked these theories and have a difficult time understanding them once they are exposed to them - and sure, it is theory because they will only be confirmed as our technology advances far enough to allow certain experiments only possible to think about at this time. This is analogous to the fact that penicillin was available way before it was possible to use the technology needed to preserve and allow dispensing it to the masses. Before that technological process became available, it could be made by the incredible man who discovered and researched it but the time of tech was not right and up to speed to allow it to be stabilized for distribution.

Quite a bit about what is discussed, elementary info, is covered in chem. 101 and physics 101 is valid, but the theories and their repercussions touch on new age and metaphysical aspects of the unexplainable in life, which is where the walls of ignorance and arrogance of conventional critics begin being built.

Most of the world renown scientists admit we should not close our minds to possibilities that are at this point incomprehensible by the man-child, mankind. Take a look at history and you will know what we have seen from critics in the past, whether the elite educational institutions or the vile penalizing church censorships.

A physics degree is nothing in comparison to the work the men and women in these chapters of this book and "the holographic universe" are doing and the lone (with few associate visionaries) journey fraught with adversity and ridicule.

Read these books - they may change how you look at life and the energies you are part of and influence hour by hour!
Don't let closed minds without specific data contrary to these theories close your mind or deter you from exploring the marvelous mysteries of the world and universe outside of conventional close mindedness. The people who are the first to throw credentials and titles at people to intimidate them into being part of the masses that follow the piper and say the emperor has clothes on!

Get a history degree and vow not to support the repetition of our errors through ignorance and ignorance - that is my advice to one-star critic.

May the Force(s) be with you ALL! ;-)
