The Beatles - With the BeatlesThe Beatles - With the Beatles
Rated 5 Stars"9 out of 14 songs are five star caliber in my iTunes..." 2008-08-25
This is a completely subjective review - not an in-depth analysis:

So I've had this playing in my car CD player for some time now, and I decided today that I'd sit down and assess the album in my iTunes - rank each song, and whatnot. It seems that a whopping 9 of the 14 songs I have felt worthy of receiving 5 stars - and I only give songs 5 stars if I feel they are worthy of repeat listening.
I regrettably do not have 'Beatles for Sale' as part of the catalogue of theirs in my iTunes, but looking at the other albums it seems as if I've rated more songs with 5 stars on this album than any other Beatles album with the exception of 'Abbey Road'. This does not mean that I think 'With the Beatles' is one of their artistic best, but it does give an indication that it is definitely worth owning due to its awesome listenability factor - you could give this album many repeat listens without getting bored of it. Here are the songs that I have rated 5 stars:

It Won't Be Long
All I've Got to Do
All My Loving
Til There Was You
Please Mr Postman
Hold Me Tight
Devil in her Heart
Not a Second Time
Money (That's What I Want)

I will say my least favorite on here is their surprisingly bland version of 'Roll Over Beethoven'. And with the large number of covers (exactly half of the album), it might be a turn off for some folks, but really, if you haven't heard them do stuff such as 'Till There Was You', you are missing out.

'She's got the devil in her heart
Oh, no, no, no, this I can't believe...' and with this, it seems I've finally gotten Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida' out of my head... thank you, George.

Wonderfalls - The Complete SeriesWonderfalls - The Complete Series
Rated 5 Stars"This is by far my favorite television series" 2005-02-24
I, like many people, never had the chance to catch an episode of Wonderfalls when it originally aired on Fox. I came across this quote from one of the show's creator/writer's, Bryan Fuller: "We were told by FOX that Wonderfalls was their best reviewed one hour show in the history of the network. [...] Most networks will choose one or two shows to get behind and spend that money on. Wonderfalls was not one of those shows because they didn't think it had those things that would appeal to a mass audience. It wasn't boobies on the beach." After reading this, I did some more research about the show, and just decided to buy the DVD to see what all the fuss was about. I am only half way through the 13 episode series, but I can already honestly tell you that I rank this show higher than any other I've ever seen. I literally laugh out loud at many moments in an episode, which rarely ever happens when I watch other shows. What's also great about that, is there is no laugh track like other comedy/dramedies have. I don't like being told when to laugh, and what I should consider funny, and Wonderfalls definitely does not patronize its audience in any manner. The writing, the editing, the story, the acting, everything about the series is flawless. I've also been told that the last episode does not leave us hanging, so luckily it wraps up as a completed story. I have to restrain myself from watching more than one episode at a time... because when there are only 13 episodes, you desperately want to make something this fantastic last as long as possible.
Go buy the DVD, revel in its excellence, and show FOX what big idiots they are for cancelling one of the best shows of all time.

AUDIO TECHNICA ATH-M3X Mid-Size Closed Back Dynamic Stereo HeadphonesAUDIO TECHNICA ATH-M3X Mid-Size Closed Back Dynamic Stereo Headphones
Rated 2 Stars"Cheap - You get what you pay for" 2004-03-03
I was attracted to these headphones because they looked like a steal. They looked like an extremely great deal for the price that I payed for them (around $25)... but what I got was exactly what I paid for. I got very low quality, cheaply made headphones that barely held up for 2 months. The foam padding started deteriorating about a week after I bought these and they hurt your ears after only about listening for an hour. The sound quality is mediocre, but is better than some at the same price range. My biggest problem with these phones was that they leaked an extremely large amount of sound. You can't be in a room, or even a room over from someone without them knowing what you're listening too. HORRIBLE...
But, they are extremely comfortable if you are only going to wear them for a SHORT period of time. They are VERY cheap, and if you don't mind letting anyone listen with you (sound leakage), then these phones shouldn't be a problem. Okay for the casual listener who doesn't have a whole lot of money to spare. The cord is extremely long, which makes for easy maneuverability but does get in the way sometimes. There is a small amount of isolation, more so than with other headphones at this price, but you still can hear outside noise which kind of defeats the purpose.
I would have gave it a 3... because you really do get what you pay for, but I just can't get over how horrible the sound leakage is with these phones. I've used $.99 cent headphones that didn't have leakage this bad... therefore I gave it a 2.
I'm going to loosen up and spring for a pair of Sennheiser HD-280's... better spending $80 for a supposedly fantastic pair than waste another $25 on cheap junk like this.
