| I've had these speakers for about a year and a half. The distortion factor has always been a bit of an issue. But usually the volume is low enough that it wasn't an issue and the sound was fine. However, as the speakers age, the distortion increases. Now after a year and a half choral numbers where large groups are singing together get distorted. Not even that large of groups either. I still keep the volume pretty low and the speakers now distort more than ever. I don't travel much with them. So I have no idea about the distortion factor increasing other than just from regular almost daily use. Yeah they're a good buy and I was very impressed at the begining, but if they don't last I'm bummed. | ||

| That's exactly what this movie is in our family - a tradition. We put it on as the first holiday movie of the year as we are decorating the tree. Albert Finny is really the only true Scrouge. The musical numbers are great. The croud scenes are just amazing, they really are. It's so fun to watch Albert Finny make the transformation from the grump to the fun scrouge. The supporting cast just helps Finny shine. I've been watching this every holiday since as far back as i can remember and i don't intend to stop any time soon. Great fun! | ||

| I have to agree with other users in saying that Donny does portray a great Joseph. However I've never heard a weaker performance by a narrator. For a true treat to the ears check out the cast recording starring Michael Damian and Kelli Rabke. Kelli puts out the best performance as the narrator in this recording that i've ever heard. I've watched the video, listened to many of the cast recordings and seen the show live countless times and none of the performances stand out in my mind as beautifully as Rabke's and Osmand's. What a treat it would be to see and hear the two of them together instead of the weak performance of the narrator in this video. I have to give the video five stars for creativity though. Recording the show as a performance to a grade school was a great way to easilly incorperate the children's chorus without them looking out of place or loosing screen time in the shadows of the stars. Overall the video is well worth seeing especially as a precurrser to seeing the live show. | ||

| I first saw this show when it ran on PBS ages ago and even as a late elementary age kid i loved it! The songs are catchy (adicting if you're not careful) and each of the ladies plays her part the way it was meant to be played. Sure the presentation of the film itself (incorperating the actual audience in shot) may seem a bit undesirable to someone who hasn't seen it live, but it works for this film! I had the pleasure of playing Sr. Robert Ann in a high school production of this show and each of us worked hard to capture the essence of our characters that was displayed in this version. Some people are under the mistaken impression that this show makes fun of Catholicism but i couldn't disagree with them any stronger. Likewise you deffinately don't have to be Catholic to enjoy the show. When i moved out of my parents house and into my own apartment i swiped their copy of this movie. They're now begging me to either buy my own copy or buy one for them! Definately a good laugh! So make Nunsense a habit around your house today! | ||
| Ghost Girl: The True Story of a Child in Peril and the Teacher Who Saved Her | ||
![]() | "A must reed for future educators" | 2003-10-12 |
| As a future member of the special education team, I picked up this book of my own accord with no real expectations. I come from a background where i've seen both sides of the special education system and have seen many teachers fail with children like Jadie. Ms. Hayden proves to be an incredible example and roll model for current and future special educators. In her work with elective mutes she had the courage to break away from the beaten path. She had the patience to work with the most difficult children. This book is a wonderful example of the difference one individual can make in the life of another. Sure we may see some horror seens along the way, but it is increasingly rewarding each time even slight improvements can be made for a child. Hayden's work may seem disturbing to some readers, and it's true. She deals with some very heated topics in her novel. But it's important for the reader to remember that the issues discussed in Ghost Girl happen, weather we like to admit it or not. Hayden's gift of writing helps the reader see into her classroom and feel the emotions right along with her. Now a special education graduate student and teaching assistant, this book along with Hayden's "One Child" have made their way onto the required reading list for my Intro to Special Education course. A must read for any current or future member of the special education team. | ||
