I have a two-month old baby boy. He has a very sweet temperament, and only cries when he wants to be fed or when he is gassy. Unfortunately, from the time he was 4 weeks old he started developing gas problems which progressively became worse. With the original Playtex nurser, my baby became very frustrated, because not enough milk would come out of the latex nipple. He would cry out of frustration, become tired, and fall asleep after only drinking one ounce. After sucking so desperately to get more milk out of the latex nipple, he would also become gassy. Initially, we thought the gassiness was from his formula, so our pediatrician suggested Mylicon drops which didn't work. Then our pediatrician asked us to try a lactose free formula, which didn't work either. Throughout this process we also switched to the Dr. Brown bottles. In the beginning, it seemed like it was helping, but after one week, my baby boy was getting gassier and gassier once again.... not to mention how time consuming it was to properly wash the Dr. Brown bottles. I would have gladly gone through all the tediousness of properly washing these bottles if they would help my son feel better, but unfortunately it didn't. Then, my baby's pediatrician asked me to try soy formula. My son was still gassy, so as a last resort with the bottles, my husband and I decided to buy the Playtex Premium Nurser since it had the silicon nipples which where different in shape from the latex nipples. He LOVES the silicon nipples, and so do I! He looks so relaxed while he is drinking his formula (it actually looks like he is breastfeeding), he doesn't cry from gas pain any more, he spits up so much less than before, and the bottle clean-up is as easy as can be. I highly recommend this system after trying everything else!
